- This is the new Samsung ATIV Smart PC - also known as the 500T or XE500T1C
It's a hybrid clamshell style 11.6" laptop and tablet in one. The screen disconnects from the keyboard base. The base comes included with the tablet as one package for NZ$ 1299.

* Intel Atom Z2760 (Clover Trail) CPU @ 1.8GHz
* 2GB LPDDR2 Memory
* 64GB SSD Hard Drive
* 11.6" 1366x768 display
* Touch screen for fingers, and S Pen
* Intel SGX545 Graphics
* Rear facing 8MP camera with flash, 2MP front facing camera
* Windows 8 (full version, not RT) 32bit.

Hi, thanks for watching our videos! It depends on what country you live in. Here in New Zealand the tablet comes with the keyboard dock. Some countries sell just the tablet part. Make sure you ask the person you are buying from to confirm if it comes with the keyboard dock or not.
WOW! the GS3 has amazing video quality
It would be nice to have a smaller form factor, but then that means a shrunken keyboard, and that would impact it's usability too much for me. The 11.6" screen enables a full size keyboard dock, and that's what makes this perfect for me. I've tried many shrunken keyboards, and I never get used to them.
It seems like this tablet have a USB port on the slate though (is it a micro USB?) and the HP Envy x2 have no ports on it. I want to bring the tablet (without the keyboard) and still be able to charge it using USB. Seems like this ATIV Smart PC can handle that but the Envy cannot.

Hi, thanks for watching our videos. The battery life is rated at 14 hours max. With a normal days usage including web and office it would be around 9 hours. The key is to turn the screen off whenever you're not using it, which is fine because it's instant off/instant on.
just got it at the office. how did you manage to tilt the hinge? seemed fixed tight, out of the box. bit wary to force and turn it up.
That's why the surface is 10.6", 11"seems to be the smaller you can go while still being able to have a full size keyboard.
Any complaints so far ?..
I'm kinda concerned about the weight and the processor..
Coming from 7.7 tab i'm used to read or browse with 1 hand.. ( the other hand clicking)
Is it comfortable holding it with 1 hand?
did you buy this from warehouse stationary or harvey norman? what is the battery life like? performance? try and run something link photoshop? how much battery life with keyboard and without keyboard?

I take it that you do not get a headphones/mic with this tablet. What is a recommended headphone/mic for this device/
Hi. I wanted a PC keyboard that was like the nice Mac keyboards, and this was the only one I could find. It has the nice Mac style chiclet shallow island keys. It's called A4Tech KV-300H
Hi. Yes you are correct, the HP has no USB on the tablet, which is not very good. Only USB in the keyboard dock. I do like that it has a very good build quality and made of aluminium. The HP also has battery in the tablet and keyboard dock. The Samsung has the battery in the tablet part only. I think it was silly for HP not to have any USB built into the tablet, but I will still get one when they are released next month to compare.

This Samsung has 1 full size USB on the tablet, and 1 micro SD card slot. The keyboard dock has 2 full size USB.
how much is it with the keyboard dock in USD?
is it scratch resistant screen?

@absolut20below thanks for the answer, yes the productivity is better (thats what i need too) but at the price of larger size
@absolut20below i was going to buy this but the size is just not fir me i guess, i think samsung should create 8.9 ativ smart pc then add battery to the keyboard dock just like padfone to compensate smaller battery, that would be perfect for me ( sorry for the double post)

I would say obviously Zenbook.Is much better looking,have much more features,much more powerfull processor,but it isn't a tablet.
