      Please be careful to audio, there is a bit much at from 100 to 200 hz , you could reduce it, or don't add as much. It adds a bit of distortion when its too much. The microphone could also be too close to you, or the level of recording too loud. I hope it helps.

    It is a nice and informative review. Regarding remote, when in sleeping mode it did not consume much battery but it is good to switch it off for longer storage. Secondly, the same remote is being used for bicolor lights like ML60bi, where light is responding to the changing colors and other built in effects. Mine is working perfectly and i love my Godox light.

    Great Video! Does the Sokani soft box have the option to attach a honeycomb grid on to it?

    • @ankursharma-er6xt
      @ankursharma-er6xt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there’s a option for grid, I just got mine today

    • @daddoestechyt
      @daddoestechyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you buy the softbox from sokani it comes with a grid but if you buy the light bundle with softbox it doesn't include the grid. 🤷‍♂️ It's a bit confusing but if you can find a third party one in the right size, you can velcro it on with no problem.

    • @daddoestechyt
      @daddoestechyt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This was the best analogy anyone could have given lol. I'm assuming you meant during my silly opening. Definitely won't get an argument from me on that. I was using a lapel mic and didn't have it quite fastened appropriately and there was a lot of scratching and I had the gain way to high so the box opening was highly magnified. I had to do a ton of post processing to make it usable due to errors caused myself. I appreciate the compliment and the critique so I can get better! Thanks for watching. Rock on Vex!

      @daddoestechyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! sorry for the late response on this! This is 23.5 inches wide at the mouth of the box and about 15 inches deep. I believe it is listed as a 24 in softbox. Hope that helps!

    • @daddoestechyt
      @daddoestechyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey William sorry for mssing this comment! I am not sure I understand your question but hey this is what i would say. I think the two best budget lights for key lights are the Godox SL60w (affiliate) amzn.to/3mNCrZu and the Sokani x60w (affiliate) amzn.to/2WJqfic . I think they both have pros and cons. I own both and I can say that the Sokani X60 has a smaller footprint and it does a good job disapating heat so that the sound is consistent always, you dont hear it ramp up and down. The skin colors on the X60 are spot on but their is a hair of magenta in the light for the other colors. The sokani is also a little bit brighter in its output. The godox sl60w is bulky in comparision but the colors are spot on. It is also a bit cheaper than the sokani which is a big reason to consider it. Both are great and I think you will like both but they would be my recommendations. The Sokani can be moded with a v-mount plate to support vmount batteries which the sl60 cant do but if you don't need that then the sl60w will save you a few bucks and do a great job. If you opt not to get the kit I would recommend this softbox the Glow EZ 28" Parabolic Softbox (affiliate) amzn.to/3pmGy0x. I own the 28 and 38 inch softboxes and I love them both but the 38 inch is huge so make sure you have some space if you consider it. It will give you more light wrap and better soft light but i think the 28 in is the sweet spot for smaller spaces. Anyway, I hope this information is helpful and if there is any other questions I can help with, give me a holler.

      @@daddoestechyt SO much good info here in your reply. I ended up picking up the Godox ML60 with a 95cm 37" Octagon. I loveeee this new setup and the directional light with the grid. thinking I will order another and may go with either of your recommendations so thanks for that!

      The remote is quirky there is no doubt about that, but it does work really well. It is simple and seems to have solid connection and range. Just some weirdness about how it was designed. The light is solid though! I am really dig it, you probably would too! Thanks for watching! Happy Friday!

    I heard at lesser than 50% brightness it registers flicker on video recordings. And you have to go way beyond 125/s shutter speed to counter it. Is that true ?

    • @daddoestechyt
      @daddoestechyt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can say with 100% that I was unable to recreate any flickering in any conditions that my cameras can produce. The lowest brightness available is 10% and I didn't get flickering at either brightness at any frame rate up to 120fps. It's possible it could occur beyond that but I don't have a camera shooting higher than 120fps. have been using it for about 3 months and have had no issues. This all could be specific to my unit and could happen on others but I don't think that's the case. I am not saying at one point this light may not have had a flickering problem and that everyone else is wrong, I think there has been enough evidence to support that there may have been a problem at some point. However this light has since been updated and it now has a quieter fan, my assumption is that the flickering may have been addressed in that update. Unfortunately there is no external differences or ways to tell if the one you are getting is part of old stock so if you want to know for sure, the only way to check is test for yourself. Plus the old one sounded super loud, so if it doesn't sound like a truck it's probably ok. The best way to get one that's newer is to make sure you are buying from places selling a lot of them so the old ones are surely out of stock. B&H and Amazon would be your best bet. My unit was from Amazon. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

    • @mgr5550
      @mgr5550 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daddoestechyt > Hi There ! And thanks a ton for your immediate response. Great to know you've not had flickering issues even at slow mo frame-rates (120fps) so that means your shutterspeed would have been at 240 ! Actually more than the fps, its the shutter speed which bears a significance in this banding issue. You've also effectively slowed down your 120fps footage on a 30fps timeline and seen no banding i assume.
      On a side note how big a subject have you been able to light up as a key light ? Say 2 people together or a small dinner table of 4 people dining for a restaurant video ? Also if i put 2 of them side by side with umbrellas id get a more wider, brighter (softer) key light ?

    • @daddoestechyt
      @daddoestechyt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you would be correct on the shutter speed of 240. I have seen no issues with slowing down in either a 24 frame timeline or 30.
      To your point about the key light, I think it could get the job done with 4 people at a dinner table but I think it would be pushing it's limits being only a 60w light. Typically I would look at something in the 120-150w range. I know there was an updated to the sl150w as well for a quieter fan. I cannot vouch for it because I have not tried it though. As far as umbrellas go, that would increase the overall light if you were trying to widen the overall light. 2 of these with umbrellas could get it done for sure but you would lose a lot of directional control of the light. It would work though. 😊

    • @mgr5550
      @mgr5550 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daddoestechyt > Thanks Again ! i was planning to buy 2-3 of these. As usually i believe instead of buying one high wattage light, having 2-3 of a lower wattage to mix and use in different directions will offer me greater versatility and directional use as a rim light etc. And when i need all of them from one direction as one powerful light i can group them together (albeit with some directional compromise when bunching them as you pointed out).
      Also if one light fails on a shoot i an at least manage a compromised version on the spur of the moment using the other 2. What do you think :).
