Just fixed my loose center console off of this video. Guy at the dealership told me I’d have to bring it in to have it worked on in the shop. Tightened one screw and it’s all good. Thank you!
Thanks for video Tim! I swapped mine out with your help. I found that removing the 2 screws on the sides is not necessary as the back part is not tied into those screws. After I removed the back part I discovered this. All you need is a philips for the 4 screws connecting the armrest and a plastic pry tool to do this job. A flathead will also work to pry off back part but is more likely to damage it.
Just replaced my 2020 Forester armrest. Mine has a/c ducts in the console but the procedure is the same as your tutorial. Got my platinum color armrest from Subaru warehouse. Job took 20 minutes. $157. Thanks for the video! Thinking it would have been $500 at the dealership.
Hey there! Loved the video. I have a 2015 Forster but it’s the base edition and I want to swap out the console with a sliding one (since mine doesn’t slide) . Where can I find this sliding armrest?! Is it OEM, do you have the part #?
Your came a bit more assembled than my replacement arm rest. If the metal bracket is not already attached to the arm rest… there is a cover that easily pops off the under side of the arm rest. Then 6 screws attach the bracket to the arm rest.

Thank you Tim. Where did you purchase your armrest?

I'm having a hard time getting the back cover to pop, any tips?
Try to lift up the bottom part after removing the side covers for the screws with a flathead screwdriver and unscrewing the side screws.
