I was a teen mom who raised her son on this music. This summer at 42yrs I took my son 24yrs on a music tour of his childhood. Blink 182 at litter Ceasars. Fallout boy pine knob. Simple plan and sum 41 pine knob. We're continuing it with greenday at comerica this summer. All I'm trying to say is thank you for the music back then and now!!! Thank you for the memories!!! We love you guys
I think one of the main reasons for them calling it a day is Derick's health. I don't think he can physically perform on stage anymore. Dude literally had heart failure late last year and that's pretty serious for someone at his age.
It's a variety of factors. Deryck's health, Tom's commitment to Gob, Dave wanting to restart Brown Brigade, and Frank and his variety of projects. Cone is probably the only one who doesn't really have anything else going on. I just wish Stevo was here to experience the end of Sum.
@@buu_88 Not completely no. He can no longer play guitar live and just sings now. He still plays when they're in the studio, but live you don't see him play guitar anymore. Probably cuz it's too taxing on him.
Deryck said in an interview that touring becoming to be more exhausting. That for the first time his mind was not 100 percent on Sum 41. That he feels its maybe a time to do something else and end this on a good way.

In the early 2000s, one of my older brothers told me about Sum 41's 'The Hell Song,' and I was so curious that I bought the cassette from the store to play it on my 'Walkman tape'. Since then, I've been listening to Sum 41. I was around 15 at the time, and now I am in my early 30s.
I'm Italian, I'm 42 years old and I grew up with American and English punk rock which I love madly. I'm very happy that sum 41 still continues today, please don't stop playing, don't stop giving us indescribable emotions! Amazing song ,amazing energy, super cool!

The underclass hero was always underrated imo. It’s an absolute banger of an album. Don’t get me wrong I leave the heavy stuff from sum41. But the old pop punk sound is where it’s at for me always has been.

Im old. 37. Green Day (dookie) got me into music, but Sum 41 moved me and inspired me. You guys are the best. I saw you in NYC 2 days after my dad passed, and you did a Queen cover.... Queen was my dad's favorite band. That was the only time i cried at a show. I just wanna say thank you. I also met Frank that morning at the drumming Academy in Manhattan, and he was so nice and personable

Not many people have met their heroes, but I've been privileged enough to meet mine on multiple occasions, being in this video, making the friends I did on set, and being able to leave my mark on my favorites bands legacy is something I am unbelievably grateful for, we had so much fun filming this video, and I'm so glad it came out as good as it is. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I will cherish this memory for years to come🙏🔥
I never got to see motorhead play live, but I did go to the rainbow bar and grill one random Sunday I was in LA with my buddy and Lemmy was sitting at the patio bar playing the trivia game he loved. It was just he and I for 3 hours and we just talked about everything and anything. Easily the best interaction I have had with a celebrity. Sometimes meeting your heroes is awesome.
People who don't know these guys as musicians and only "kind of remember the sound" will say this is the type of song to feature in an American Pie movie or any American comedy. I'm so glad to have been a fan of Sum 41 since 2004 thanks to the game Obscure. Their song Still Waiting featured in the intro and I got hooked ever since. Such a great band who always (yes, always) knew how to change and vary their sound without losing their essence. You will be hella missed Sum 41
