I can't tell you how much this kind of content is lacking from today's culture - there is so much fast content today which seems dramatic and desperate. This felt sincere and authentic. It reminded me of the behind-the-scenes bonus footage that you would get with a live DVD. Amazing work man! Thank you for this.
Thank you so much for the video. I have been a huge fan of Sum 41 over 20 years and can’t thank enough to Sum 41 for saving my life so many times. Wishing them all the very best for new chapters❤
Wow!! That hands down is probably definitely one of the best heartfelt most respectful interview I've ever experienced honestly. So happy for all of them and choosing to move on, while on top instead of forcing it and then unfortunately becoming ("the joke after thought") of a drawn out failed ending of a career that so many bands & solo artists find themselves at. I wish them all the best in all their future endeavors. I thank them for there musical contributions to us fans!
I saw them in Dublin for their final show in Ireland. It was also my first time seeing them too, I had an absolute blast seeing them live and I'm so glad I got to see them play tracks from the "Half Hour Of Power" ep, "Chuck" and so much more. I was lucky to get a guitar pick at the end of the show from Tom Thacker as well. Thank you for this interview and thank you Sum 41
Every band does this. You feel like there’s something else out there and once you get there, it never has the same satisfaction that performing has and they come back. They will be back on day.
Bro I’ve been following your YT for a few years now, what you are doing with this mini band documentary’s is absolutely amazing! So f”ing awesome! Please keep them coming! I hope more bands see what you’re doing and one day hopefully do this! Slipknot, korn, limp bizkit, the list goes on! Thank you so much brother, god bless 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dude! It is amazing. I really like the style. Thank you so much! But one thing is for sure, I will miss Sum 41. They were always by my side, from 13 on, now I'm 37... I wish them all the best and I'm stoked to see what they will do individually.
Great fuckin interview documentary whatever you call it. It gave me insight to one of my most listened too bands. Sad too see em go but they left a great legacy behind. And I'm proud of how much the TH-cam channel has grown. With all the greats in one place from my happy place called music. I'll always come back for more here
They will always be remembered has a good rock band 🎸 they been through a lot especially Deryck give them all the support they need respectfully keeep on rocking 🤟🏾
This is a truly great end to a great era in music history. I will always love this band and I am thankful for all the music and madness they released into this world. You are one insanely good interviewer. Keep up the good work you do ♥
Thanks for this! Grewing up on Sum 41 since the 90s til now, this hits hard! Sure it sucks they retiring, but i am forever greatful through my lifeline with their great songs! It's crazy how time flyes by! Thanks for it all sum 41 🙏🏼.
Absolute authentic! Great video! Thank you for your work! And also thank you Sum 41 for all the music, the storys, the shows, simply everything! Big thanks to Deryck, Cone, Dave, Stevo, Tom & Frank!
Great vid man. You can really hear the impact the band had on you in the final seconds of the video, and there with you. Been there since Half Hour of Power myself.
Awesome video, my man! Glad the guys went out with a bang! I still remember watching Bring It On in 2000 (I was 14 at that time) and hearing "Makes No Difference" and couldn't get enough of their music since. Thanks to Sum 41, for the music and the memories.
He was the band. Once he left it was really over. But when Dave left the first time, that's when sum 41 died. Underclass hero came out and that was a wrap for me. I tried getting into their albums since but they just suck. Derryk always whining on the piano...if ur gunna whine at least hide the lyrics in something that sounds good; metal, upbeat, heavy etc. there's so many whiny ass acoustic piano songs
My first love, my first favourite band from highschool days. Whenever I listen to their songs, it still reminds me of my school days. Thank you for the memories, Sum 41. My dream to watch you live will always be a dream.
I just saw them 4 days ago at their LA date. I was already reeling from that and to watch this, with how well done it was put together and respectful you were of the guys, and knowing how supportive all of them were/are with each other - god it's like a gut punch (but in a bittersweet way). Beautiful video. Man, they're SO going to be missed. 🤘
This is a phenomenal video. They never did take themselves too seriously, but there's an astounding level of maturity and wisdom throughout these interviews (particularly from Deryck) that I think younger bands could learn a lot from. As someone who grew up with this band, I'm bummed that they're calling it quits, but as they said so many times in the video, it's for all the right reasons and that makes it so much easier to just look back and appreciate what they've given us. Music, after all, lives forever, but we don't, and I'm happy they feel they're in a spot where they can hang it up on a high note. Cheers to the dudes in Sum 41, hope all you guys enjoy whatever's next! 🤘
Saw them 2 weeks ago in Austin. They were awesome!!! Every song sounded amazing. Derek sounded amazing. Been a fan since 2001. Love these guys. So proud of them
Very well done documentary and this was actually emotional to watch. I feel like Sum 41 is part of our upbringing, part of the music that got us through teenage years, just so fun to listen to and great memories when i hear them. I was lucky to see them live as a teen front row in London 🇬🇧 what an awesome show! They were great with the crowd and even let people perform on stage with them. Never going to stop listening to Sum 41! 🔥 epic band!!
Just seen these boys live and they were EASILY the best live band I've ever seen. Vocals were as impressive as the playing, and what a show! The energy was incredible!
i remember back in May 2000 Billy Corgan announced the breakup of the smashing pumpkins. i was on vacation with my family and it literally ruined my entire trip. crazy how important this kind of stuff can feel, especially when you are 17 years of age. big love to all the Sum41 diehards out there! i wasnt an obsesaed fan but i still got my CDs of HHoP and AKNK. may have to spin those today. 😎
@@zacatkinson3926 they did for a number of years..about 5, i'd say. anounced the breakup a few months after Machina dropped and Billy swore they would never be playing together ever again. they were then gone, until Zeitgeist came out (what a crap album, IMO). what i do miss about Billy is ZWAN! That record is absolutely glorious. wish it was on spotify but i listen to it here on youtube pretty often. i AM glad that the Pumpkins are still out there touring again. their newer output isn't exactly my favorite but having Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin back on stage has been magical every show I have been to.
Except? Smashing Pumpkins? Are still slauging it out 😊 This? Is not one of those 'fake' retirements (like Kiss Did 400 x.. Crue..on and on) This? Has a whole diff feel. 🙏 Ty for the Music and moments😊
Damn...for a band that I first got into back in 2001 when I was 13 years old, meant so much to me growing up. And now 20+ years later, it's beyond bittersweet to see one of my favorites retiring for good. Thank you Sum 41 for the all years and memories of awesome rock music, wish you all the best for your future endeavors...much love! 🤘🏻🙏🏻

Mad respect for Deryck having the wisdom and balls to end the band on a high note. It's better to burn out than to fade away.
But ending on a high note isn’t burning out. Semantics. Whatever
Check out burn out and Fade Away by AG session....
Wouldn't burning out be dying in some over-the-top blaze of glory?
You can just say it's good when bands retire before they get old and suck.
Until the inevitable reunion tour
They'll be back. (crosses fingers)
Great interview. Letting the guy talk. Total props!
Thank you Sum 41, for everything. All the memories from the music, the videos, the live shows. Will keep listening forever.
This is AMAZING! So well put together. Thank you for letting them talk and tell their story! You need to do more of these!!
Will do :-)
Make it into a series the origin story of bands and where they are currently @@RockFeed
They are not breaking up. They are retiring.
Ty
They will come back at least 5 years time
No they’re breaking up. Deryck has already said he’ll still be making music. The rest of the guys probably will too
For now...
@@MrCleetSR388Then they are no longer a band together. Broken up.
What a great episode. And to have it on Sum 41...a staple in the soundtrack of so many lives. Great job!
i grew up listening to sum 41 since the early 2000's and saw them live for the first time this year in their final tour and it was so amazing!
Great job to the dudes from Sum 41 and the Homies at rock feed for putting this together. All good things must come to an end. Thank you.
