5:10 - 5:50 - this passage goes to the books, absolutely incredible. The space, the tension, the timbre, the groove...it is like an entire jazz orchestra building up to a climatic moment. Ending the solo with Monk's Rhythm-a-Ning is pure gold. Thanks Jarrett, Peacock (RIP) and DeJohnette for the fantastic music over the decades. This trio is very much missed.
The most monumental moment here before anyone talks about Keith Jarrett here is the way Jack Dejhonnnete introduces Keith's solo for himself to listen to and go ahead with his solo. This is definitely one of the greatest moment's in the history of jazz for us listeners, trying to transcribe that for a while now.Anyway hope you have a great day!!
From a double bass player's perspective, the really happy face Keith has during what would have been his first solo chorus, and instead he prefers to listen to Gary and Jack.... that's priceless... What a compliment to those two all-time jazz masters...
This has all of bepop lifted to next level - Mr Jarrett’s solo is so funny, quarter beat lagging, just killing...all the bepop cliches are echoed but so freshly...they trade fractured quotes of bepop classics...these guys have musical telepathy and are having so much ****** fun...it’s Sonny Rollins exuberance in the sunlight...
I disagree, I don’t believe this performance is any indication of elevated bebop. I’m a big Keith Jarrett fan, but I think this is one of his more forgettable performances.
Man I love how they build up all that tension and only release it very few times, it brings so much joy and excitement. For example how Keith very rarely places his chords or how Jack plays this dry ride and never switching to one with rivets. It’s like you can lick your favorite food but only sometimes get to have a bite...
I think most people in the comment section have never been in the spotlight with a burning rhythm section, searching for the next idea to play. Keith is channelling
He breathes out music. He is clearly a prodigy. When music sweeps over your soul so powerfully, you can’t help but make sounds. Joy radiates all over his face. AMAZING!
The precision! Jarret has always been the epitome of fuilidity in phrasing for me, personally. But here, he is like a clock. All of them are. This trio has been a major musical inspiration to me for years. I am so grateful they ever existed.
This song is pure artistic prophesy. "We've got to get ourselves back to "the garden" to find out "who I am" individually, while joining forces for good and for the preservation of LIFE.
You are entitled to your opinion, but i think the editing is spot on, always been impressed with Japanese productions especially the excellent issues of this trio. also the sound balance is some of the best I've ever heard. Can't really understand what you feel is so wrong here. Communication is the thing, and all the DVD's i have of the trio show you exacrly how they lock in and become one entity, one mind..anyway i can't really see how the production could be improved, all credit to the crew
This phenomenal performance of a classic jazz trio reminds me of how thoroughly enjoyable another phenomenal performance of classic jazz trio that I listened in to at the Music Department at Cal State Long Beach, one night, years ago. Some of these music majors are tragically in denial about how ingenious their thought process as well many other learning abilities they have always had and tapped into well enough.
Jarret это другая планета, особый неповторимый пианизм, могу слушать его импровизы бесконечно, а гримасы просто убивают, и главное - так легко и просто, что и я могу так сыграть.
I first heard this tune live at the civic opera house in Chicago in the late 50's. Also on "relaxing" w/miles. A wonderful performnce by Keith ...He is moving up the line ... I think he is one of the big boys now ... solid jazz perform and versatile as well.
Can you explain me how does this work... im lerning rythm changes form... and the teacher sent me this and said: listen this, here they're using rythm changes form... and I dont here ir... im gona be so fucked at the lession. Help
@@talismangta5rp basically playing rhythm changes will substitute the chords for A part (B part maybe as well) as the legends have use the same changes to play different ideas. As you check Charlie Parker's, Monk or others, you will know surely.
Neto Figueira there’s no right or wrong speed. It’s more important to take your time with it. You get more out of really getting into one solo than you do with lazily learning 20 solos. And, the more you do it the quicker you’ll become
He makes those sounds and he’s a hero… I make those sounds and they forcibly remove me from Wendy’s.
Of course, when you haul a piano into Wendy's, you will be removed.

One of the greatest piano led trios ever. Keith left his mark and yes, sorely missed.
"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ayghhhhh eeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEUUUUGHHH" - keith
LMFAO
now that's a worth transcription
Came for the meme
I wish playing music could do that for me like like it does for him such a wonderful gift
lol

Introduces Keith for himself? himself? I don't speak teleprompter Kamala fruit salad. These guys sure know how every once in an abstract while.
From a double bass player's perspective, the really happy face Keith has during what would have been his first solo chorus, and instead he prefers to listen to Gary and Jack.... that's priceless... What a compliment to those two all-time jazz masters...
Прекрасная передача джазовой энергетики, стиля, ритма музыки.
Keith's shirt is so killing
I, too, love that shirt!
Thanks!
I liked Denzel's
Jack's isn't bad either.
RIP Gary Peacock. This has always been one of my favorite recordings of this trio. Thank you for the many great years and recordings.
Well put …❤

Sonny Rollins exuberance in the sunlight😆
The joy of the swing hits him at 0:34. His expression is childlike.
Keith Jarrett makes the faces and sounds we would if we only had the courage. He sounds as if he's experiencing music for the first time.
morningblue very well said
morningblue great comments
He does heard it for the first time I believe because it is improvised haha
morningblue! Well said.
Hear, hear!
Everyone’s searching for the perfect ride and Jack is making a 100 lb Sabian sound amazing.
Man I love how they build up all that tension and only release it very few times, it brings so much joy and excitement.

UNBELIEVABLE this, these guys really ROCK🤩🤩
Rock doesn't even come close to what these guys did.
9 minutes have never flown by so quick.
I think most people in the comment section have never been in the spotlight with a burning rhythm section, searching for the next idea to play. Keith is channelling
the way they catch the 1 during the trading is a thrill. Every time I'm like how?

RIP Gary Peacock. 1993 seems like a long time ago suddenly. I wish my fingers could make music like any of those guys.
This song is pure artistic prophesy. "We've got to get ourselves back to "the garden" to find out "who I am" individually, while joining forces for good and for the preservation of LIFE.
Man the genius/crazyness of Jarrett is so explicit in the beginning of the video. Plus they are really enjoying the moment
The genius of Jarret but of Jack and Gary too
That hum improvisation is out of this world
If you start at 0:34, it seems like a "shreds" video haha
What a joy to hear the good old good ones played by the good old good ones.

RIP Gary Peacock
My favorite improviser on piano with a great supporting team, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJonette. "If it don't swing it don't mean thing" Halaulia !!!
Jack's sensibility on this first solo chorus out of the head is unreal ... the displacement!
Fantastic !!!!!!👍🤍thank you Gary for the music, miss him so much!!!
0:35 happiest face ever 😊😆😊😆
All first solo with no Chords Keith amazing love it🎉
I almost feel like Keith is his own genre of music
To reach that sophistocation in improsation while preserving raw/ genuine emotions is Pure Jarrett Magic..
Learn proper English
But not is jarret solo
Mi commuoverò per tutto il resto della mia vita, per quello che siete stati e per la nostalgia della vostra assenza!
These guys are SICK!!! Keith looks ready to fly into space. Loves how he scats every single note!
I hate it. I would chain whip Jarrett to make him stop that.
@@rattymouse Just close your eyes and listen.
Just unreal … so far beyond …thank you for posting !
this is the heaviest trading i’ver heard🤯
Keith digging Jack so hard right out of the melody just kills me. I love the space and intensity of listening.

Didn't knew Rick beato posted the double bad
5:42 Rhythm a Ning
I simply ain't F'ing with Jack, Super Nice Cat !
Great piano solo to transcribe. It will be tough to transcribe to vocal line too!
Michael Fan that's a good one, with vocal line I mean. :-)
1:18 peacock feels your pain :-)
How much time do you take to transcribe the hole thing? I'm starting to transcribe more stuff but sometimes I think I'm too slow

A musician who is dedicated to acoustic jazz.
Autistic jazz, you say?
I swear my autistic nephew is less annoying than Keith Jarrett
I wish he went electric so we wouldn't hear him through the mics
goddamn it
hi me
Wowza.
