This is one of those performances that no matter how many times I hear it, every time still feels like the first. It conjures up emotions in me that I can’t even explain. One of my absolute favorites.
You would think this song was written with him in mind because he seemed to be the one was enjoying himself jamming along the way through the song...thank you Garry for the music you left us with
I have been working in a jazz club for 6 years and have listened to incredible amount of jazz, but since I've discovered this trio, it still changed my perception of live performance and what's possible by a human.
Peacock has passed on to eternity and Keith can't play much now. I'm so grateful that they've created and recorded so much and given us all such endless joy and pleasure and artistry. Watching them here you get one of those "rigth that moment they had the very best jobs of anybody in the world" feeling.
This tune is one of Jarrett's greatest compositions. It's just heartfelt, logical poetry. The version on Personal Mountains is definitive, but this uptempo version with the closing vamp is fun.
I fell in love with this piece (especially the outro) back in the late 1980s. It still sounds sublime. Thank you Keith, Gary, and Jack. Your music has really helped me live life better.
I was fortunate enough to see Gary with Keith J and Jack live in Boston a few times what a magnificent player Gary was being a drummer l would have loved to have played with him l can’t imagine what that would have been like RIP Gary
Utterly Sublime! And easily ranks of one of the greatest ballad standards of all time! Gary Peacock: My All-Time Favourite Acoustic Bassist - just listen to his lyrical inspection improvisation; and nobody does better walking-bass melodic and compositional diversity than Peacock. PLS, SHOW ME, OTHERWISE!!! RIEP
Great tune. I love the album version the best. This trio is one of the best ever. Saw them live at Juan Les Pins '05, '06 and '07 and I'll never forget the amazing experience. I almost got to talk to Sonny Rollins at the '05 concerts when he was doing a short rehearsal during the afternoon but the security chucked me and the other jazzhounds out!
Gary looks exactly like my quantum physics prof - coincidence? I love this track, it is waay to short. Gary and Keith are amazing, their enthusiasm is contagious.
OH WHAT A WONDERFUL PIECE OF MUSIC!!!!!!! GARY IS SOOOOOO DAMN BEAUTIFUL AND SEXY AND NEED I SAY MORE????? JUST LISTEN TO KEITH AND JACK!!!!!!!!!!! FROM BETTY GREEN

The rhythm and the notes are a movement that bring the mind into stages of continuous pleasure and exaltation. Are you located?
An extraordinary, incredibly sensitive bass player left us. RIP Gary Peacock
RIP Garry... One of the finest sounds of bass in the whole history of jazz music

I just discovered this trio and show today. Life changed.
Yes, i feel like it really changed my life too.

RIP Gary.. Just great that the video director had the sense to focus so much on Gary's journey in this tune. Thank you!
September the 5 th, 2020 :
Gary Peacock left us.
RIP Maestro.
Thanks 🙏🏽🖤.
Sublime musique de vie... la transition @ 6:51 Magnifique

You put 3 brilliant musicians together and this is what you get.
They work so beautifully together.
I have listened to this concert and this trio for years. Perfection! God bless them all and to all of you as well
This tune is a masterpiece, I feel.
Pure joy from Gary Peacock! Amazingly spontaneous!
The wonderful Gary Peacock -a truly great bassist and a musician who contributed so much to every group he was involved with.
The extension (6:50 ~) is one of the best dance music I've ever heard.
Let's start dancing!!
This tune is one of Jarrett's greatest compositions. It's just heartfelt, logical poetry. The version on Personal Mountains is definitive, but this uptempo version with the closing vamp is fun.
Czy tu potrzebne są słowa. Wystarczy otwarte serce , umysł i nieskażony bzdurami słuch. Naprzód Keith i Jack
Man, it does not get better than this. Incredible artistry from a great trio. RIP Mr Peacock.

The second part it's pure gold.

This music is best beautiful of the world.
I listen to this frequently-amazing amazing amazing ❤
No words to describe this
Un bajista con un sonido unico, gracias por subirlo
Triple RIP for Gary
HE still is the best
Works for God Now
I understand the standing and shifting of body weight to get all that phrasing pulse out of the horn. Ultimate conviction!
Probably my favourite video on this site.

I caught the trio at Carnegie Hall in 2011, I believe it was. The best Autumn Leaves I'd ever experienced.
Sublime ! RIP Gary
I love the extension at 6'48... So beautiful. Thanks for sharing 🙏♥️.
YSB agreed! I fell in love with those last 6 minutes about 25 years ago. They still move me.
So beautiful, Tango beats Trans to Highway type beats smoothly !
Gary looks exactly like my quantum physics prof - coincidence? I love this track, it is waay to short. Gary and Keith are amazing, their enthusiasm is contagious.
Yes........um
FYI, Gary studied physics at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Per sempre eterni❤❤❤
Beautiful!!! Love how happy the bassist looks
AND I SAY "RIGHT ON" YASSINE TAOUDI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BETTY GREEN
Me too, I love his enthusiasm and the way he enjoys the music.
Magnifique ❤
RIP Gary Peacock
Excellent. Thanks.
Seguirás en nosotros Gary
Gary Peacock has passed August 4th R.I.P. 📀🎧🌺🎶🎶🎶
One listens wonderfully.
❤️ Gary 💔 …
Lloro.....
such mutual joy....
It took me to another dimension
Great. also recorded in 1989 with Bassist Palle Danielsson on the "Personal Mountains" album.
RIP The Great Gary Peacock
All things must pass ...But could not someone have made an exception in this case ...
To see Mr. Peacock’s facial expression during this performance says it all.
besto lover ever song
at around 10:45 Gary seems to succumb to some sort of deep fake video and morphs in to Clint Eastwood
RIP Gary Peacock 😢😢😢
I prefer the versions with the European quartet. Keith Jarret had several periods, as we know, I chose mine. With Garbarek.
RIP Gary
AH YEAH, BRAH!!!
RIP!

The extension has got a bit style of The Police :)) !!
Isn't that a Sting tune at 7:15?
you may be onto something...that melody did sound similar to 'when we dance' ...
:)
Wonderful piece until 6,48

@@bigPianist99 I think he meant that after that point it becomes even better.
