I used to work around 1981 in one of those smaller green industrial units behind the building site, I'm amazed both them and the depot haven't been built on with flats and more flats
Nice vid. Never really seen this depot properly except wizzing past on a train. Two questions. Where does the line go that runs round the back? And what’s the construction work on the other side of main line going to be?
I’m not sure what the construction work is all about but the line the goes round the back that you refer to is the 4 mile freight only branch to Brentford. It currently serves a rail connected waste transfer station and aggregate terminal.
Looks as well cared for as Carnforth. They do tend to hoard rollling stock which they do nothing with and leave to rust, much in the same way that they seem to look after their premises
@@RobertdMacGregor I need to find another place to fly the drone from as I was close to losing visual line of sight. I'll have another go when I'm next in the area.
why is there all this dereliction on our railways, the condition of some of the rail network is a shambles, loads of unwanted loco's and stock left to decay , just scrap em all and clean the place up, is that a class 37 with it's nose visible?? , I hope some big wigs watch your video's and see for themselves what a shithole the network is, great video though....
I remember having a wander arout their, in the early 70s
Was always full of dmus then.
But ya could always see wezzies flying past.
Good times.
I grow uo in Southall and used to go spotting on the foot bridge and remember the shed still in use in the 1970's.
Wasn't expecting this but nice surprise, even if it's not in the best state.
They used to do heritage rides along the seldom used goods line that was once part of the southall to brentford branch

@@trainsplanes no problem could you do tysely works again soon as i hear they have started working on their carriage shed
@@owenslanejunction7544 Will do.. I'll get some footage over the next few weeks when in the area.
Excellent video 👍
i think those carriages with the white tarpulins on are some old hastings demu cars

It's a freight line that goes near to Brentford.
Any volunteers to go in there and tidy it all up and get rid of the greenery/weeds. Were a few WCRC locos in there last time I went past last month.
Do west Ealing EMU sidings
Is that a 33 in the shed?
I think it was
Great video but sad to see the shed and area in this state of decay.
Sad sight seeing the decay. Who owns the Depot currently?
Still owned by NR

Cheaper to keep spare components in place than strip and store in containers!
Unusual for no WSL coaching stock to be on site. Whenever i go past there is always at least i set there.
Hi Simon, I’ll get some further footage when I’m next in the area and more stock is onsite.
What was the number from the 08?
D3905. Not sure what that is in new money
@@callumthornelow2936it’s 08737, used to be in EWS livery.
Very sad site 😢 are those inspection or ash pits in front of the shed ?n
Isnt one half owned by west coast and the other half locomotives services ltd
Yes, hence why 2 roads are fenced and gated off and look fairly tidy compared to the rest of the site
Some more shots of the backside of the depot would of been nice
It’s surrounded by houses on that side so not possible I’m afraid.
@@trainsplanes I mean the actual back of the shed and those storage lines

That’s the southern lsl depot, right? Shame about all that coaching stock rotting in the background.
Roads 1 & 2 are used by LSL,
Roads 3-8 are used by West Coast Railways
@@callumthornelow2936
it's the 'West Coast' side looking sorry then
@@stephenchappell7512 Correct.
Sadly...a bit of a mess. Didn't realise that there are all those coaches slowly rotting away. Nice footage though.
could do with flying lower and much closer to gain more detail of what’s there
It’s always a balance of flying safely versus not at all. I wouldn’t fly any lower for a number of reasons.
Just parked up the coaches and left them to rot?!
Depot rarely gets used other than to store stock and stable locos there when on railtours down south
You're wrong, regularly used to service locos and stock.

It’s a private site so nothing to do with the mainline network.
