- St Phillips Marsh Network Rail depot in Bristol city centre. We are let into the site and have a little wait in the office before being spoken to - thus hearing some cool train maintenance conversation taking place.

Not gonna lie, from the guy who let you in, the guy that showed you reception, and the folks that kindly showed you the way out--they were all really pleasant and professional chaps.
Agreed
Polite yes, but talking absolute bollox. They didn't actually have a clue, but thought that if they said it confidently enough it would have an effect. Professional involves knowing what you're talking about, not blagging.
There were about 4 opportunities during the CIA interaction, where it could have developed into an argument, but through diplomacy and kindness, it was beautifully handled. Good job💪💪💪🥰♥️
Yeah argueing about the rules of the Central Intelligence Agency in the UK might have got pretty heated. lol

I live in Bristol and used to own my own courier business and between 1999 and 2005 I had a contract to move parts between depots. It was First Great Western (FGW) back then and I'm surprised how nice the people are now as back then they were rude and arrogant. The gates were never closed and were rusty and falling apart. That old class 08 shunter was there then too and in the same sad old era 8 sectorisation livery. It was always running and usually on the track nearest the gate just outside the shed.
Their main work back then were class 43 HST's and if I remember correctly 7+2 formations squeezed into the sheds and 8+2 and 9+2 formations overhung.
I often carried class 43 HST turbochargers in my van and it took up about ¾ of the floor area and about ½ the height. It was also near the max payload of my LWB van. It was on a full size reinforced pallet with a steel top and was bolted to it. I made up a bespoke restraining system for my van that bolted through the lashing eye points because I didn't trust the webbing straps to hold it if I was in a collision. I used 6 heavy duty truck straps too.
I made hundreds of trips between St. Philips, Old Oak Common, Landore (Swansea) and Laira (Plymouth) TMD's and also went to other depots. The contract was 24 hour and 365 day and twice I was called out on Christmas day. One Easter I was called out 4 times on Good Friday and 3 times on Easter Monday. Thankfully I'd including a £500 surcharge per call for Bank Holidays and that Easter they paid me over £4200 for 2 days work which wasn't bad for the time. I think it was 2001. They were always so desperate I'm pretty sure they'd have accepted a £1000 surcharge.
I carried all sorts of items from bolts, special tools, switches, gauges, engine parts, bearings, brake pads, etc. to traction motors, radiators, coach seats, power car windscreens, coach windows and doors, etc. and all things in between.
The people in the other depots were fine and I was shown around Landore and Laira which was much appreciated.
I remember arriving at St. Philips one day and there were police everywhere and they wouldn't let me on. I phoned my contact and was escorted on site and loaded within minutes because most of what I did was desperate as the trains were out of service. I asked what was happening and apparently one of the HST's had hit somebody who'd committed suicide a few days before and when it had come in for repairs they'd found the persons head wedged in the frame of one of the coaches. That was bleak.
Another time I had to take a truck with 12 coach windows to Laira on a Saturday afternoon because Millwall FC were playing Plymouth Argyle and thought it was fun to smash them. Cretins.
Thank you DJ for another great video. I laughed like mad when the chap who shows him where the reception was said "You'll freeze yer tets off." That's so Brizzol. Yes, I know, we all talk like pirates down yer.
Thoroughly enjoyed all the information from Johnowen..👍🦘❤️
Aaaahhhhh the good old days.
Sounds like FGW was good to you with the many miles that you clocked up for them and also, the many enjoyable memories that you can tell.
I don't think any of them looked likely to go loco with a choo choo engine but you never know . Big up the Gentleman at the rail depot , kept it civil and professional . jolly good show .
That was nice and chill
Amazing how they all become legal experts 🤣😂
Legal requirements are often open to debate, notwithstanding anything to the contrary and with all things considered except Heroin and incest . . . ( and Marmite)
Opinions are subjective.
. . . Any objections?
Hi. Just wondering why you called your channel DJE Media. Is it your initials or was you trying to ride on the back of the famous DJ audits?
Great guys, they are put in a sticky compliance spot but they handled it perfectly.
Ha don’t these people just spout crap lol 😂 😂
Well handled
*Your the first person to come in and ask permission*
I didnt ask permision, I told you what I'm going to do.
Private land 😂. They always think you can't fly over private ground
They were OK weren't they, they were very cordial.
Sorry only subscribing now after watching your channel for aleast 3 months now, enjoy your channel 🛸
those where pretty polite compared to some karens in other videos
"Are you abiding by all the CIA rules"?
What a comic!
Its CAA not CIA poor blokes losing it haha
@@philldownes8685 LMAO dude looks 200 years old haha
lol reception
Hey man, where's the "that drone aint going over my railway for Sh!t" part??
Clickbait.
False advertising.
Who do I call?
If you taking off from that little road by the gate and trees how did you manage to keep that drone in sight all the time ?
Shhh! He didn't.
He’s just doesn’t know CCA rules, he only knows Network Rail rules. If they take the drone it’s theft.
'CIA rules'? 😮😅😂🤣😁👍
Criminal investigation aviator
Can’t be too confident in his railway line if he thinks a plastic drone is gonna damage it 😂
You and the other DJ who do this are crazy to do this im surprised that you haven't been arrested for this.
Who said "that drone ain't going over my railway for shit" and at what time? That's the reason I was watching, did i miss it or clickbait title?
Total clickbait... as most of his videos are.
I'm just wondering, why are you here?
I think that might have been john wayne in War of the Wildcats .
@@Right-Turn-Clyde because I wanted to ask a question about a video I thought might be interesting!
You?
@theclotshotdidit3115 Thanks for attempting to belittle me, that's very kind of you. I will say though, my comment wasn't actually in reference to your comment.
No way are you operating ‘Line of sight’ flying of the drone! Interesting footage though.
Good video upload enjoyed it a shorter video this one lol 😆
"You're overflowing private property " say what now ????
Here we go then..we got speshaw rules round ere.
Good video
Holy shizz man, think he’s got you on a technicality there. He’s spot on, there’s no way you’ve got permission from the CIA. Another level mate 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Poor baldy, jesus what he make a fool of him self ;-)
I’m not asking, I’m telling you that I am.
i want to buy a drone and take pics of stations can i do that
You've got to be careful man, you didn't have line of sight there, you could get your balls chewed...
Liked and..Woah walking into a small room with lots of orange jackets!! fair shout..Big Ups Brizaw!!
I doubt the RAIB would be interested in a 249g drone landing on the track.
Brilliant i like your train 🚆 video's they are cool
Where actually does the airspace start ? 30m - 10m - 1m ???
Tia Herzele
At some point all this with auditing will become part of the new employees handbook 😂😂😂
What abellend
Get yourself up to Toton in Long Eaton
The old coach is used for fire evacuation training and the freight train in the distance is in the sidings which are just off the main line. Nice video DJ 👍
Notice at 4:20 when you went into reception and they suddenly switched to talking shop, that's standard procedure when a group of workers are skiving in there, prior to you going in they were probably taking about which horse was a sure bet that day or anything but work related...😳🤣😁
That was a classic of the genre 😂
Well security is totally absent the workers didn’t bat an eyelid then statement from the guy saying you need permission to fly in the airspace which they do not own or have any authority it control airspace
Waits for the FBI to come along
Cast of stars.
The first sheds you flew over are Siemens maintenence sheds. You will see these at 3nridged also.
In England there are not storage sheds, trains either run or are in for a service which is 1 coach
Trains park for the night in sidings, and then operate "fast"(empty) to starting point
Hi everybody I’m that sad bloke who has a drone, I have no life .
i think thay would be so would the btp
Fantastic thank you for this one! Great to see a rare class 08/09 Shunter!
So your DJ??
Wonder how many drones have they had land or crash on to the tracks? More likely to be plane than a drone, looks like the locals are just as clued up as the migrant security guys.
*If your drone was to fall onto ptp property you won't be getting it back*
Hmmm ok then as a member of the public Ill now inform you that any PTP property on public land will be confiscated and you won't be getting it back. See if you think you can take a member of the public's property that finds its way onto yours, the same well be done to PTP property. And you will remember you began this .
Well done to all !!
normally trespassing is a civil matter but not on the railways im afraid so they are in the right end of
Another great railway video. Please do more depots.
I think BAe have a depot in Bristol (Heapley or similar). It has a sealed tunnel where there is apparently a secret reserve of 1960s steam trains in storage
Coach is a Mk2F . Originally in BR livery probably before sectorisation/private..
Obviously they couldn't even give permission over airspace they have no control over, so asking for it would only be a waste of everyone's time.
That was a bit cheeky of you saying your DJ. Your not and that will cause them to look up DJ. A bit unfair on your part, I think.
I have to agree. DJE Is your chosen name, don't use DJ, I heared you say it once before. You have a good channel keep it as honest as possible, 😊 thanks for the feed.
Thinks he's kolee berks to 😅 yes then the people haha
You seem determined to lose that drone.
Poor security ... They just let you in. You could have been anyone ...lol🤔
Matey boy started off by demonstrating arrogant ignorance but then improved.😊
Unbelievable
The chances of it landing on a running train is less than the chance of the drone falling . The L Bs hardly ever run the the bloody things
So they have a fly trap switched on during the winter?…🤔🤯
Failing air handling unit (AHU).
C I A time to run
'We cant do pretty much else than to let you in". Well, that's top security!
LOL
Are you abiding by all the CIA rules? Naw mate, were in Britain. Not America! 😂
That is really bad security
I'm pretending to be important quoting waffle because I'm dressed head to toe in hi-viz😅😅. No wonder the railways are in such a state.
I think i might email NASA and tell them how to build space ships, I'll no idea what I'm talking about but phuch it, it's 2024 i won't let my lack of knowledge stop me. 🤷😜❤️🇬🇧
Brilliant vid . My home town. Love the trains and all the other vids. Try the bootle yard bs14 area. Film studios. Snd old airfield
CIA rules 😂😂
Worked there a few times over the years.. Try a video of Canton Depot Cardiff, far more impressive
so planes can not fly over anywhere that's private
Fair play to them they were all very decent
Bring back trumtum
Can confirm its going over , the footage will be good , not sh!t
🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
Iv dropped a thumbs up as always but unfortunately i cant subscriber as am already a sub 😂😂
Thank you for showing this.
I never let anyone fly over my railway either.
i would of tired of waiting and go for a look around!
Aye its not CIA,CCA or owt like that stuff in ya head its C bwinkin AA ...get it in ya heads once and for all ....like 😂❤😊
Without an Operator ID - AND - a Name, they wouldn't be able to check a downed drone on the CAA web site and even then, all you can get from the public drone checker page is a confirmation as to whether the ID is valid or not and an expiry date. So, unless you want them to hand a downed drone over to the first Tom, Dick or Harry that tries to claim it, they have no choice but to hand it to the police (British Transport Police in this case) to identify the Operator and their contact information.
Yes Orrificer
So you’re saying it’s ok to steal another person’s property. Failure to return property is stealing. What if was your car? They can’t check the registration on that ether.
Bristol - I studied planning, surveying and land management there for a number of years; at least some people still have knowledge and understanding. Some haven’t…😂…contact the CIA for clarification! 😂😂😂 Or anyone in a Hi-viz jacket.
10:47 Imagine being as smart as this guy. Imagine the burden that must be on his coworkers 😬. This guy has been so wrong, about so much, so fast, I don’t think I could believe him even if he said, good morning 😐
CIA = LMFAO
Lot's of people upset when they see this uploaded 😁😁 2024 drone crashes successful prosecution flying irresponsible. they used social media for evidence 🤔🤔
The you cant fly over private property , is quoted in the BS manual for the legal experts. Great Audit and drone footage DJE Media.
where do these jobs worths get their ideas from ? thats why the UK is a joke because of people shit scared to do anything in case of a court writ
One of the better interactions.
Cheap knock off of the original "DJ Audits".
Especially when identifying as DJ when others ask who you are.
Try speaking slower also as easier to understand.
Your not DJ… audit fail, unsubscribed
???
Get a life 😂
I wish i had been with you bro, I worked for Network Rail for 15 years and I was the National Health & Safety Rep for the whole of the UK, We could have really had some fun.. lol Great Vid
