Hi. I follow your work from Hungary. Unfortunately there are no Hungarian subtitles, but I will spend time on it so I know what you are talking about. Based on your test, I bought a smart watch and the Oura ring gen 3. Thank you very much for your work. Clean, professional, modest, humble. Thanks you.
You should make your website more informative like adding the research findings, data tables, verdicts, comparison, thoughts etc. We all love some great read really. Love from Bangladesh.
Oof, many may give you grief for dumping the bike but it's so easy with clip-in shoes. Good testing of the OuraRing. Looks great for sleep and general health but not so good for exercise
@@TheQuantifiedScientist very well, I'm interested in the Biostrap EVO as well (not sure if you already did a review, if so, nevermind than) Thanks for your work, it's super helpful! Was thinking about getting an oura ring but I will stay with whoop now, let's see if the 5.0 comes out next year and how good it will be..
Nice review! I recently picked up the oura ring 4 and Im pretty happy with it so far. Not fussed with the subscription as that I am happy to put up with. I also decided to trial the whoop 4 strap but Im not so keen on the pricey monthly fee but it doesnt hurt to try it out for 30 days.
1.) I know that Oura claims that the ring is also an activity tracker, but no (hobby) athlete or someone who really cares about heartrate tracking, is using the oura ring for activity tracking…no device which is not connectable to an heart rate strap is a serious activity or sports tracker…Oura is for overall health and especially sleep and here Oura is very good… 2.) Oura recommends to wear the ring on the index finger for best results, Rob wears the ring always on his ring finger (he did it with Oura 3 also) and that may also be the reason for some of the bad results…I use an Apple Watch for Strength Training, Running, Swimming…and the data appears automatically in the Oura App…for sleep I believe the data from the ring much much more than from the Apple Watch (though the results from Robs testing are different) and so I have the best of both worlds…
@@TheQuantifiedScientist Under your previous video you have also mentioned a retest of latest Galaxy Watches :) This would be very interesting to see if they improved with updates.
Outstanding review as always!💯 Could you do a test, where you analyse what Impact the positioning (far away from the hand to very close to the hand) of a smartwatch has on all the different measurements the watch can take. Maybe you could also test the Impact of the tension of the wristband on the measurements (from uncomfortably tight to a lose fit). I think that would be very interesting and maybe also helpful for future scientific reviews of smartwatches.
Love your videos! Wondering if you might consider taking a look at the ultrahuman ring air. I’m between that and the oura ring 4 and would be nice to see how they compare.
I've watched all the videos in this channel and there is no huawei watch premium series reviews , eg. Huawei watch 4 and huawei watch 4 pro. Not talking about the gt series. Those are way better than the gt series.
Surprising for me! Been wearing a plastic Oura4 ‘sizing’ ring the last month to assess comfort… but waiting for *THIS* video before pulling the trigger. ;) I’ve got an Apple Watch for exercise but don’t like wearing to bed, so thought O4 wld be great compliment for sleep/health. Even tho I’ve kinda hated wearing this ring, I prob would’ve gone ahead… but (by chance) I was able to get an 8-Sleep Pod4 at a LOW price from a friend. It seems that the 8Sleep offers about ~commensurate sleep tracking data as Oura (esp w/ the degrading sleep reference explanation), in addition to its other benefits. So, it feels like the only unique thing that Oura offers is the ‘health’ tracking SOFTWARE. If so, the ~$400 (plus janky subscription) cost all of a sudden don’t seem worth it... So, I guess I’m left with the questions of what does the software really provide that other (3rd party) developers couldn’t solve using Apple Health data fed from numerous devices? Does anyone know of other Apps which access HealthKit and offers similar insights?
I actually find the ring very easy to check alignment because I use my thumb to just check the groove is in the right spot. Using my thumb to touch the groove and check it with the same hand without even looking at it.
Was waiting for this. I think I will give the Sleep squared app a chance. The price has dropped a little and its an attractive choice compared to the 400 euro oura 4.
Hi, I’m a fenix and generally, a garmin user. I’m curious about those rings but not so happy because some if that need year subscription and this is very annoying. Thanks for your tests!
It’s not, it’s awful if you expected a fitness tracker and bought a health and sleep tracker though. But it’s all about managing expectations really. But if you even looked at the video and listened to his analysis about the sleep tracking I have no idea how you somehow get awful from it when final verdict was, it’s a great and recommended sleep tracker. Just don’t expect fitness tracking. Seems a lot of the issues with fitness tracking stems from the pressure on the fingers. I’ve never had issues with oura detecting walking properly, and running I’ve only tested some, because I use a Watch instead because it’s more fit for purpose also allowing Spotify and bone conducting earphones with no extra devices.
So Oura 3 is good at tracking heart rate when not working out? Do you think it would make sense to use an HRM during my HIIT workouts and import the data to the Oura app via Apple Health?
I had the previous Oura for two years. It stopped being able to be recharged. I threw it away. I'm going to checkout the Polar HR. It measures HRV? I don't care about data when I'm not sleeping. I use a HR strap when I ride my bike.
Even being myself a huge fan of health trackers, I can't find any reason to get this Oura Ring. Uncomfortable? Yes, it is. Inaccurate? Yes, it is. Expensive? Yes, it is. So, what's the point?
Oura 4 does a lot better than that on me, compared to my EEG device. Most of the nights the sleep arcitecture is basically spot on, except for possibly some extra deep sleep and wake moments.
Seems like an Apple/Pixel watch is just the better device in every way except battery life, considering those are one-time purchases that come with a free watch I see no reason to ever buy one of these rings.
Anecdotal evidence here: vs my HR strap oura 4 is sort of ok tracking HR on runs and walks. Sort of.... i wouldnt rely on it. Seems to me the night measurements are better than my Garmin watch. So the 4 is kind of a waste of time for me. Oh well.
I noticed that you are wearing your Oura ring on your ring finger. My impression is that it works best on your first or middle finger. I live in Silicon Valley and see lots of Oura rings and you’re the first person I’ve seen with it on your ring finger. From ChatGPT: Oura recommends wearing their ring on the index finger for the most accurate readings, as it allows optimal contact with the blood vessels in the finger. However, they also suggest that the middle finger is a suitable alternative. Both fingers provide strong signal quality for tracking metrics like heart rate, sleep, and activity. If neither of these fingers is comfortable, the ring can still work effectively on other fingers. The key is ensuring a snug fit to maintain consistent sensor contact with the skin.
finalmente no logro comprender eso de comparar los productos con una banda Polar H10, si la banda polar es lo mejor que se puede medir, entonces, honestamente todos deberiamos usar una banda Polar H10
question bicycle. think about your weight and where exactly applies pressure and why so many users of bicycles have problems with their reproductive organs. even champions...
the data in this device, reminds me of the $55 Chinese watch that "measures" everything you can think about......just like those old devices w the #8 ball...... useless.....
So besides being an alternative to birth control, what’s the point of this device? Just looks like an expensive useless ring, kind of like the Samsung Ring.
