Hi. The pixel watch 1 has been updated to wear os 5 and got readiness and cardio load for free with December feature drop for pixels which makes it a compelling watch and as per what I see it's almost the same precision as my pixel watch 3 as I have both. Could you make a updated vidéo about it.
I was a really big fan of this watch and was ready to sell my Fenix 8 and use this as my primary wearable. However, for some reason when paired with my heart rate strap for the first 10 minutes of each run the heart rate was off. Also, the readiness score was always way too nice to me. For those reasons I decided to return it, but I'm really excited in the future for what they're going to come up with.
This is consistent with my findings 🔥 I was shocked to see how well the HR accuracy compared to the Garmin Fenix 8. I was also super shocked at how accurate the Helio ring was where I found even more HR accuracy when compared to devices like the Fenix 8 & Polar M3! Awesome video mate 🌟
Could you test HR accuracy of some watches when no activity is turned on? I would be very interested how accurate are HR measurements when sensor is in low power mode doing its continuous HR monitoring.
Been using the T-Rex 2 for a few years now and it’s worked great. It’s not as precise as watches that cost 5x as much, but I’m fine with it. This new T-Rex 3 looks great. The 2 & 3 work with HR straps which will give better HR precision. I’ve used it both ways and it’s work very well.
Better for sleep tracking than apple cus it detects naps and it doesent count steps in sleep as apple watch did..also detects i was going to bathroom while apple watch doesnt know even if im binge eating in 3 am
Such an extensive testing, just like we’ve come to expect! Super impressed by Amazfit tbh 🎉 Robb - a scientific test for Ultrahuman Ring Air as well pls!!
it could be interesting to test the amazfit Balance now, after 1 year and various firmwares, to see if there are improvements and if the "secret" is only software. Trex 3 and Balance should share huge part of the software.
yes... i can confirm that the Balance is not capable to record the awake periods in the sleep stages :( .... as you said maybe they use same algoritm ... they should be updated in the future
Curious to know how much the watch design and fit on the individual wearer influence the accuracy of the sensor measurements (IE HR). It would be really interesting to see these tests replicated with additional users to really know how accurate each device is.
I finished a first test, but my reference device might be having some issues. I'll make a video about the Apple 10 Sleeps stage tracking in the next 3 weeks.
Hi Rob thank you for the detail review! Just one request, could you please review again Galaxy Watch on latest OS which is on One UI 6? I heard it makes more accurate. Thank you in advance!
Hey Rob, I have a suggestion regarding the correlation ranking plot of the devices you show. Have you experimented with flipping the two axes? If the correlation would be on the y-Axis with the respective names next to the plot values, the names would be way more readable (I think).
I have trex 3 at my wrist, i was waiting to send back until have a solid review like this! Thanks again! One question zmax dreamento shows A LOT od f wake moments... is it really the best reading? It seems so strange to have more than 10 WAKE peak in a night... maybe is it not really "wake"?
@@TheQuantifiedScientist Great! Can't wait till you review both! I'm more interested in the ringconn gen 2 myself, but looking forward to hopefully an oura alternative!
I noticed that the T-Rex has been measuring my resting heart rate above 100 beats per minute for the last 10 days. What nonsense. I've been wearing a Garmin Fenix 7 PRO on one hand for about a month now and a T-Rex on the other. I'm testing the latter and the T-Rex3's heart rate is 40-50 and sometimes 60 beats higher than the Garmin's. I have a Polar Verity Sense belt and a clip for measuring heart rate and oxygen. All devices give the same heart rate except for the T-Rex 3, which gives 50 or more beats higher than the Garmin, Polar and the clip. Does anyone have this problem? The watch is in perfect condition and has never been dropped or hit. This is strange because the T-Rex 3 showed a very accurate resting heart rate in the first few weeks, compared to the devices above. I'll write to Amаzfit support today. It looks like a defect. I checked everything on different hands, everything is the same.
I think if you're worried about data security, you should use a mechanical stopwatch or simple G-Shock to time your runs. There even were G-Shock with step counters ages ago. So you even get a estimate of the distance. No heart rate of course.
@ if you’re an athlete that inaccuracy is horrible, anything after 4 miles will be grossly disproportionate from the higher tier sensors. It’s basically useless for any aerobic workouts over half an hour. If you’re willing to pay a cheaper price for crap sensors, so be it.
@@superiortoall22I got my Amazfit Cheetah Square yesterday and tested it against my Garmin Instinct 2X and the heart rate sensor of the Cheetah reacted way faster when running uphill or downhill. The graph perfectly reflects the elevation profile of the 10k route I'm running every day and that I have tracked with many different models (mainly Huawei and Garmin including Fenix 7 Pro).
disappointed with sleep tracking. 😑😑😑 Is it so difficult for any brand other than Apple or Fitbit to launch a smartwatch that is good at tracking sleep? 🤡🤡🤡
@@perkulant4629I'm sure part of it is because the most popular devices don't have great battery life a day or two at most. But you would think the companies that have longer battery life with triage it.
Even the best wrist-based devices don't seem very accurate for sleep stages. Amazfit has always done well for me with the one metric that matters to me, personally; overall sleep time. They're probably the best manufacturer for me on that front.
@@perkulant4629I think the appeal to sleep tracking on device like the T-Rex is that the battery life is so long you don't really even have to do anything. I know plenty of people that have purchased a smartwatch for exercise but then didn't exercise. Pretty much everyone sleeps though I'm

I really would like to see amazfit balance test again, there was so many updates and improvements
This watch is a banger. I purchased one and love it.
Could you test HR accuracy of some watches when no activity is turned on? I would be very interested how accurate are HR measurements when sensor is in low power mode doing its continuous HR monitoring.
Pretty accurate, i have Fenix 7 tested against polar h10 while resting/walking, it was almost 100% accurate
Most of them are very accurate in resting measurements
Amazfit has improved a lot, but the Garmin ecosystem always remains the best ever!
Thanks!
Welcome!
Very useful video! I'm glad to see the significant improvements with the brand. 💙
Thank you!
Was this test done before or after update 3.3.6.1 (end of november)? According to release notes, this update optimized sleep tracking algorithm.
I saw, I think it is mostly before...
@TheQuantifiedScientist could you make quick test with this new firmware?
Grazie.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for all the hard work you've done, Rob! Greetings from Brazil.
Since the Amazfit Balance (or maybe the Active) I have noticed a great improvement in heart rate detection.
Thanks for the nice comments!
pls check huaewei gt5 again after latest updates
Could you please test the Huawei Watch D2? This watch seems soo extraordinary with its blood pressure sensor...
Can you do Samsung Galaxy watch review after updates, please
Yes, working on it!
Thanks for your good work😊
Thanks so much!
Thank you Rob! Please keep the channel going.
Thanks Max!
Thanks for the review. Great video. Are you planning a review of the Amazfit Helio Ring?

Hi Rob, for weight lifting and some walk and swim what Garmin do you raccomend for me?
I'd recommend any Garmin + chest strap. Maybe a Vivoactive or Venu
Finally! Thx a lot!! You are the best!
@TheQuantifiedScientist you said you use a Garmin as a daily driver. I am curious and i am sure others are which one do you have on most of the time?

Very interesting test results. Great to see!
There are any difference between 2 and 3 trex model? Trex2 price 2 times lower then trex3.
I assume so, it has a different sensor afaik, but I cannot say for sure either way
Have you tested the polaris h9 for sleep since it's a really cheap device
