I just finished setting up the Viva new vegas mods along with some texture mods last night, runs fine and looks very good. Can't wait to get started today.
I spent years and years modding new vegas, now I have a sort of definitive edition that I always go back to saved on a hard drive with the most compatible overhaul mods I could find. I'll still try out new mods occasionally but thats my new "vanilla" modpack that I rarely change
Do you mind listing/linking your most compatible overhaul mods that you use for your play through? I’m super curious what people who’ve played the game modded for so long might be using still!
I followed a guide on fps and stability fixed and just that alone completely changed this game for me. The frame rate holding 60+ and stuttering and choppiness being removed added so much clarity to the movement that I felt like I was playing a modern game. Also… my game doesn’t crash anymore. It would crash every time I did anything intensive like load the outside. Once I added an animation overhaul, new ragdoll physics, and more weapons. The game felt so refreshed with new gunplay. It feels like a 2024 game now with just those changes alone. My game now feels like vanilla 2.0. Almost a remaster of the original, without changing the look and style of the game with texture packs and such. The weird laggy choppy animations are gone and the game is more stable and runs smoother. I love this game so much more now. It warranted a whole new playthrough. And possibly more if I ever have time.
Great video! New Vegas is my favorite in the fallout series next to fallout 2. i just downloaded new vegas wanting to get back into it and had no clue what mods to add. This list aligns with my goals to simply update and enhance the game. Thank you!
One of the worst flaws in New Vegas is in the battle of Hoover Dam, the NCR soldiers getting in the way of you mowing down the Legion, making explosive rounds useless without making the NCR Hostile toward you. I don’t remember how many times I had to reload saved files. It was so broken.
If ya need a way to find the BoS bunker just go to the hollowed-out rock in the middle and see which bunker aligns with it, I don't think it aligns perfectly but you'll see what I mean.
