This is a good video, you seem actually serious and know what your doing, keep it up. I’m 16 years old and I’m working on my dads 94 dually, someone tried to steal the gear case cover and broke it and I bought the parts to get it running.
Great video. I wouldn’t put that much silicone though. If it presses out, it could get into the engine and do damage anyways. I’d rather have a leaky truck than a broken truck
If the crank seal came with the red coating on the outside and the yellow seal on the inside it says to “install dry”. I believe adding RTV on top of the existing red seal can allow oil to pass through. If that is your truck you might want to keep an eye on that and report back here. Cheers

How often is it you need to the the cover behind that one ? Or is the block and timing case one piece ??
The timing case is a separate piece. You never want to pull it unless absolutely necessary.
