Jackie Chan deserves his own list for crazy stunts... Dude has the biggest balls out of everyone in the world. Not only does he do a crazy stunt once but will do it again!
I dunno, that man from the silent film with the falling house probably had bigger balls (metaphorically speaking) than Jackie. That kind of stunt had probably never been tempted before, and the fact that during it I didn't see him cringe once in anticipation for the wall that he knew was about to fall and may have crushed him due to a technical mishap. While Chan has persisted far more, and continually performed dangerous stunts time and time again, I think the silent man wins for single most dangerous stunt, while keeping a seemingly calm composure until after it's happened. P.S. I only just saw that scene in this video, and I won't claim my opinion to be universally true. Others may think something Jackie did was times more dangerous for whatever reasons, and they may claim he was more calm during it too, either way, over and out.
i was expecting all 10 stunts in this list to be jackie chan's stunts. he has at least 1 crazy stunt each in all of his old hong kong films. was disappointed to see this list. like you said, jackie needs to have his own list. watchmojo better make one.
The beauty about Jackie Chan is not just the insane amount of balls it takes to do the kind of crazy stunts he does but also his nature. During interviews and how other co-stars have talked about him, one can see how he is an utterly down to earth simple humble man who has never boasted about his achievements in any way. He made me smile no matter what movie of his I saw, and can truly be called skillful master of the art of adding humor to fights. God bless you Jackie Chan.
Jackie Chan has 3 spots in this list but he's just so balls-out insane, some of his most impressive stunts had to be excluded obviously because it would've been unfair on everyone else. Apart from the ones mentioned here, Jackie Chan did the following: 1) Slid down the sloped glass roof of a 25 story-building in Who Am I 2) Ducked under the wheels of a bus in Winner and Sinners, while he was going full speed ON ROLLER SKATES 3) Skiied off a mountain cliff, catches on to a helicopter, and falls into ice cold water 50 feet belowin First Strike 4) Hanging from a helicopter ladder hundreds of feet in the air, while the helicopter is flying at top speed in Police Story 3 5) The balcony jump from Rumble in the Bronx And tons more. He is the king of Movie stunts, and you can make a top 20 stunts on him alone.
I have always had tons of respect for Jackie Chan's dedication to his stunts. It really makes them something you look forward to seeing with his movies. I have no qualms with how many times he was on the list, but I think the one were he slides down a building should have been an honorable mention. That one was crazy and always stands out in my mind.
A. E. Cooper I got that. I just recognized that not all of his stunts need to be on the main list. That one is one of my favorites, but that doesn't mean I think it needs to be #1, or anything. If it wasn't on the main list on a "Top Ten Jackie Chan Stunts" list, then I would be a little indignant.
Oh yeah, in Who Am I? Also, he has a great stunt in Jackie Chan's First Strike(or Police Story 4), where he jumps onto a helicopter, then drops down like 20 meters straight into ice cold water.
his friend yuen biao did some crazy stuff too. he's probably more athletic than jackie chan. yuen biao has done stunts in hong kong movies that dind't feature jackie chan which as good as jackie chan's.
***** I watched a "making of" video. It's a legit crane jump several stories above the ground. They built duplicates indoors at a warehouse to practice before they did the real deal.
Hans Gruber They did include a Bond stunt, but (as impressive as it was) it was an engineering marvel (car flip stunt). Ultimately, there could have been as many Bond stunts dotted in as there were Chan stunts (though none really as impressive).
How is Jackie Chan not in a wheelchair? He's like 60 years old right now and has done all of that stuff in his life. Most people would be broken by his age doing the same stuff.
I know having 3 Jackie Chan stunts in here is already quite a feat, but I think you should also included the stunt of Jackie in Who Am I?, when he was sliding down from the top of 21 stories building in its glass roof. I mean, I respect what Tom Cruise did in Burj Khalifa, that's a great stunt. But, in here Jackie did not use any cables nor a net to catch him if he falls, and he did almost fall in the end. At least, an honorable mention list.
***** He's amazing, but he did use wires on that stunt. And it's a well-known fact before he tried American movies, he did use stunt doubles sometimes.
because he's brave but not crazy. You don't get to become a international star by being stupid/reckless. I'm sure his team has done calculation/experiment with regard to some of the more "raw" stunts at the very lease, for example, the clock tower drop scene, and concluded that there is a decent odd that he'd be alive after the drops or creatively add padding or stuff to improve the odds (those two awnings ain't there for nothing, they serve major purpose.)
Yeah and if you have seen the new mission impossible trailer the part were he is hang no on to the side of the plane that is taking off is all real no cgi
Antonio Monroy He pretty much has done one scene like that is every MI. In one there was the train/helicopter thing, two when he free climbed the mountain, 3 jumping to the building and sliding all the way down, etc.
It's stuff like this that makes me really appreciate the art of movie making. And Jackie Chan is REALLY a crazy bastard. 110 percent respect for that man.
Bourne Ultimatum jump? Jacke Chan in one of his most famous movies was making similiar jump but waaaay harder and more epic. Practically every Chans movie is stuntmans masterpiece.
funny how a video that mentions Jackie Chan jumping into heated coal and falling from the top of a building 3 times, just so he could get the perfect shot, cant be bothered to correct an obvious mistake like saying "Miles" instead of "Feet"
Calm down it was one mistake, what is wrong with you people, this Is free content that you choose to watch, stop fucking winging about a small minor mistake that really does not take away from the entertainment of the video.
Two more Jackie Chan Honourable Mentions: Jumping from a Parking Lot Garage to another Building - Rumble in the Bronx Running down a 45 degree angled building - Who Am I?

On the plane heist: "Yeah, he (Christopher Nolan) ACTUALLY hooked the planes together..." No he didn't. The base of the smaller plane was hooked to a helicopter. Still impressive, inaccurate information, nonetheless.
Myles Johnson No, the exterior shots are when they used the helicopter. It was never connected to the other plane. Any of the shots you see with both planes were model shots.
well, this has proved one thing to me, Chan is crazy, but i have the utmost respect for him for not only doing his own stunts, but wanting the best scene possible for his fans. kudos Chan.

Two errors that I spotted. The fuselage in the Dark Knight Rises doesn't fall "thousands of miles" to Earth, and Tom Cruise can't be 1.5 miles above the ground on the Burj Khalifa, because although it _is_ tall, it's not _that_ tall... :P Otherwise, a pretty exciting list! And credit to Jackie Chan. He's mad!
One of my favorites is the train scene in Fast Five. From the flatbed crashing into the train (and nearly derailing it FOR REAL) to Brian barely missing the bridge to the INSANE free fall that happens seconds later. Masterpiece of a sequence!
Jackie Chan is a mad man. Tom Cruise has big balls as well. I'm terrified of heights so I admire anybody who's at home esp on skyscrapers. Tom deserves a lot of credit... He's not only a fantastic actor, he's also a great stuntman.
I am glad to see Jackie as #1. But Jackie is in a different class on his own. so can WatchMojo.com do a top 10 Jackie Chan stunts. Just for Jackie alone?
Considering how long Mr. Chan has been in the business I am impressed that he has survived this long. I think it says a lot about the harsh training he received as a youngster in Hong Kong and his ability to survive that! He has always maintained a great sense of humor that is irreverent and unshakable. With his 61st birthday fast approaching, I wish him the very best.
No mention for the helicopter rope hang from Police Story 3: Supercop? Jackie Chan literally hangs from a helicopter ladder hundreds of feet in the air.
What about the transporter? 360 barrel roll in a car on a ramp, unhooked a bomb on the bottom of his car using a crane all before landing it perfectly!
People need to stop complaining about the plane being 1000's of miles up. It clearly is as if you check it again, when the 2nd plane falls, neither are moving sideways. It's in geosynchronous orbit.
MaicoMoon Didn't you get the joke? Sorry, try googling geosynchronous and seeing what it means. And buy some aspirin for your butt-hurt while you're at it.
Jackie Chan deserves his own list for crazy stunts... Dude has the biggest balls out of everyone in the world. Not only does he do a crazy stunt once but will do it again!
Yep watchmojo you heard the man, top ten Jackie Chan stunts.
hes definitely lucky or skilled who knows
facehugger89 Both

Jackie Chan needs his own list. I don't care whether it's his top 10 stunts or top 10 films the man deserves more recognition.
Was about to say the same thing!
Damn right.
1000% Agree!!
i was expecting all 10 stunts in this list to be jackie chan's stunts. he has at least 1 crazy stunt each in all of his old hong kong films. was disappointed to see this list. like you said, jackie needs to have his own list. watchmojo better make one.

Lol
sevan grigoryan lok
It's said By stereo Keaton was the same humble and very quiet
Jackie Chan probably could fill up the whole list in one single movie.
Yup! He's the king of stunts
Amen
True
Yah
The best thing about Jackie Chan is that not only is he an incredible badass, he is super humble about it.
Jackie Chan has 3 spots in this list but he's just so balls-out insane, some of his most impressive stunts had to be excluded obviously because it would've been unfair on everyone else. Apart from the ones mentioned here, Jackie Chan did the following:

Oh yes. Classic, classic Who Am I.
Lets petition for a top ten Jackie Chan stunts video!
Hana G cinemassacre.com/2008/03/18/top-ten-jackie-chan-stunts/
The stress of the film crew, was surely agonizing.
altair28389 very true! But I thought the craziest was the Rumble in the Bronx jump at the end that actually broke his ankle that was the craziest
Honorable mentions are for the ones not good enough to be on the list, but close.
He deserves one or two episodes with his Top 10-20 stunts.
The one from Who Am I?
Oh yeah, in Who Am I? Also, he has a great stunt in Jackie Chan's First Strike(or Police Story 4), where he jumps onto a helicopter, then drops down like 20 meters straight into ice cold water.
For crying scenes, Chuck Norris uses a stunt double
You made me laugh so hard. Nice job.
:)
Ha ha fucking nailed it!
He was a fake bitch
Lmaoo. What movie is that?
What I learned from this video:
Everyone is insane
Especially Jackie Chan
more lucky
And Tom Cruise
Hahahaha, you clearly didn't see what Buster Keaton were capable of.
@@lindildeev5721 still not nearly as crazy as jackie tho
@@jamesfranko1568 He broke his neck during a stunt and he didn't notice.
Jackie Chan was the Houdini of actor stunt men!! The best by far.. No CGI.
Jackie Chan better be on here.
Edit: I am pleased.
Agreed
he was
officialangelTM is*
zack19192 i finished watching it you are currently time is relative each to their own :)
I count 3 times... he was on the list 3 times.
TIL Jackie Chan is a complete badass.
completely crazy too
his friend yuen biao did some crazy stuff too. he's probably more athletic than jackie chan. yuen biao has done stunts in hong kong movies that dind't feature jackie chan which as good as jackie chan's.
sultanabran1 Biao was more acrobatic than JC, but his stunts in general were less death-defying.
***** he did hang out of an aeroplane in new zealand without anything but the rope he was holding.
sultanabran1 Like I said: "in general".
I thought the "crane jump/parkour intro" from Casino Royale (2006) would have at least shown up in the honorable mentions.
Same here
***** I watched a "making of" video. It's a legit crane jump several stories above the ground. They built duplicates indoors at a warehouse to practice before they did the real deal.
That or the Aston Martin flip scene...
nah, cause that's shit. If they're going to include a Bond stunt, it should have been the bike over helicopter jump or the ski off a mountain jump.
Hans Gruber They did include a Bond stunt, but (as impressive as it was) it was an engineering marvel (car flip stunt). Ultimately, there could have been as many Bond stunts dotted in as there were Chan stunts (though none really as impressive).
Could have filled all ten with Jackie Chan stunts
+ViolentVegan Agree !!!
+ViolentVegan You are so right!!!
l
Dislocated pelvis and he STILL rises and keeps acting? Wow, Nice job Jackie
It's fucking amazing how Jackey Chan has died yet, you'd think he would've with all the shit he's been through, we need a list for him.
He's a legend, legends never die
He's the chuck Norris of movie stunts and chuck never ever dies
Yovanni ai
japan says there are no living legends :x
Sam B Isnt Chuck a terrible cheesy actor
***** japan is also the one that censors dicks yet has some of the weirdest porn out there.
Well if there's one thing I really learned after watching this, it's that Jackie Chan is a god-damn lunatic.
You mean a god damn bad ass lol!
Josh Lucas yeah that too lol, I was literally gonna add that but so many other people have already said that I decided to just leave it at lunatic
Yeah I guess it really doesn't need to be said anymore. Hey do you know if he is still doing movies?
Josh Lucas Idk
he is really a great actor. he don't need stunt double to do shit for him...he is man enough to do it himself
Practical Effects > CGI
True, that's why J. J. Abrams is going with real effect in the New star wars.
CGI ruins things.
Sanic Real lightsabers
Mugiwara Ricky
IDK about that, but the props and ships are all real.
Sanic it'll suck anyway
Joseph K
I disagree.
J.J has proven he knows how to remake a movie.
the last 2 star treks scored 90% on rotten tomatoes.
How is Jackie Chan not in a wheelchair? He's like 60 years old right now and has done all of that stuff in his life. Most people would be broken by his age doing the same stuff.
TheHitman™ On top of that he has like 3-4 more movies coming out. Dude is ultimate actor.
TheHitman™ how the hell he didn't snapped his neck in #1, i swear the man was born to get hurt on film, a real artist
Jackie Chan is not human.
TheHitman™ Because he's Asian.
TheHitman™ Even Chuck Norris had to get a hip replacement, but Jackie's still going like an energizer bunny.
That number 1 by Jackie Chan can actually kill a person straight away.
Jackie chan is a robot

WTH IS WITH JACKIE CHAN???? HE'S INDESTRUCTIBLE.
He is definitely the undisputed king of movie stunts !! Lol
darkkaioken he's protected by god.. heaven watch JC movies too i guess

Michael Martin He deserves it. That man blurred the line between brave and insane xD
I admire him for his passion for movies
i was thinking of the same thing
***** He's amazing, but he did use wires on that stunt. And it's a well-known fact before he tried American movies, he did use stunt doubles sometimes.
How is Jackie Chan still alive?
TheCstar07 He isn't human that's how
because he's brave but not crazy. You don't get to become a international star by being stupid/reckless. Wow, that Tom Cruise scene was real?
Adam Fox Yes, but he had safety ccables etc.
Steve Nugent Well yeah, he's crazy but not that crazy. I just thought it was green screen.
Adam Fox Nope...all real.
I remember it being on the news when they filmed it.
Yeah and if you have seen the new mission impossible trailer the part were he is hang no on to the side of the plane that is taking off is all real no cgi

damn, Jackie. mad respect
Jackie chan definitely deserves an oscar
Now that Jackie Chan places 3 of his stunts in this list, there must be Top 10 Jackie Chan Stunts.
look up. cinemassacre did it already
I knew. Saw it already.
Have to say, I did not know the skyscraper stunts in MI:Ghost Protocol were real; I assumed they were CGI.
And Tom did his own stunts? Impressive.
Thousands of miles to earth? You mean, thousands of FEET to earth, right?
***** Yea i couldn't help but be annoyed by that too haha
***** Lol Paused and went looking through the comments for this.
Naw that scene was shot in Geocentric Orbit, you can see the Hubble Telescope get nailed by the falling plane if you look close enough.
Bourne Ultimatum jump? Jacke Chan in one of his most famous movies was making similiar jump but waaaay harder and more epic. Practically every Chans movie is stuntmans masterpiece.
We need a " Top 10 Jackie Chan stunts"
GET ON IT WATCHMOJO.

Really? Thousands of miles to earth? You couldn't be bothered to correct that obvious error with another take?
funny how a video that mentions Jackie Chan jumping into heated coal and falling from the top of a building 3 times, just so he could get the perfect shot, cant be bothered to correct an obvious mistake like saying "Miles" instead of "Feet"
Calm down it was one mistake, what is wrong with you people, this Is free content that you choose to watch, stop fucking winging about a small minor mistake that really does not take away from the entertainment of the video.
LOL, it's called hyperbole ;)

What happened to the top 10 actors who do their own stunts. Did it get taken down?
maria garcia
All Jackie Chan's stunts deserved to be in Top 10 Movie Stunts. This guy has more balls than all men combined on this planet.
Jackie Chan could have filled the whole list.
They have missed Jackie's amazing stun from "Who am i"
On the plane heist: "Yeah, he (Christopher Nolan) ACTUALLY hooked the planes together..." No he didn't. The base of the smaller plane was hooked to a helicopter. Still impressive, inaccurate information, nonetheless.
You seen the behind the scenes?
Zaya Watson Yes.
She did say for the exterior shots at least.
Myles Johnson No, the exterior shots are when they used the helicopter. It was never connected to the other plane. Any of the shots you see with both planes were model shots.
Kirk Peterson If those were models then that's some damn fine puppetry work on those clearly fake puppet men.
well, this has proved one thing to me, Chan is crazy, but i have the utmost respect for him for not only doing his own stunts, but wanting the best scene possible for his fans. kudos Chan.
The" Who Am I" Jackie Chan Rotterdam building slide should have been in this list

6. Jackie Chan
5. Jackie Chan

Jackie is legend on this matter
AINT NO BODY GETS TO BE ON TOP TEN 3 TIMES..
UNLESS HE IS JACKIE CHAN
Man, that Jackie Chang makes Mick Foley look like an amateur !!!!
One of my favorites is the train scene in Fast Five. From the flatbed crashing into the train (and nearly derailing it FOR REAL) to Brian barely missing the bridge to the INSANE free fall that happens seconds later. Masterpiece of a sequence!
Lil surprised Jackie’s building slide from who am I didn’t make this list. It’s definitely one of his most dangerous stunts.
I should hate Chan for how he treats his body and puts his own life at risk but... damn, that guy is just way too good to hate him.
I think what you are meant to say is "Tom Cruise is completely crazy" period
Damn....Jackie is one crazy legend
Jackie Chan is a mad man. Tom Cruise has big balls as well. I'm terrified of heights so I admire anybody who's at home esp on skyscrapers. Tom deserves a lot of credit... He's not only a fantastic actor, he's also a great stuntman.
I am glad to see Jackie as #1. But Jackie is in a different class on his own. so can WatchMojo.com do a top 10 Jackie Chan stunts. Just for Jackie alone?
Jacki Chan - the greatest stuntman ever.
I demand more Jackie Chan!
Cool list. Of course JC is three times on it :D
Yes JC is the king of stunts

I thought they were going to mention the big cristal roof sliding in "Who am I?" (a Jackie Chan movie, btw).

Hmm.. So where does the new plane hanging scene from MI: Rouge Nation fit into this list?
I swear I typed "Rogue"
I read that as Moulin Rouge Nation lol
Sean Meads first lets see how far he has gone
Sean Meads Didn't exist at the time
+GreyG s
Anything with the word 'stunt' can't be talked about without thinking of jackie chan
So many from Jackie Chan one of my favorites is his vertical run and slide down a glass ceiling in "Who am I".
Jackie chan is the craziest guy I have ever seen.
Yeo Jackie Chan owns this list bruh damn!! One brave ass Asian dude.
Jackie is Crazy its a wonder that he has lived that long
I'm so glad you included Deathproof. One of the coolest stunts ever.
I knew that Buster Keaton iconic scene would be there!
No mention for the helicopter rope hang from Police Story 3: Supercop? Jackie Chan literally hangs from a helicopter ladder hundreds of feet in the air.
Is that the scene where he was hit by a helicopter flying by???
*hundreds of miles
Basically what I got from this Top 10 is that Jackie Chan is immortal
For the batman stunt. Just a heads up no biggie. You said the plane fell 1000's of miles to earth when I think you meant feet.
The opening scene from Rogue Nation didn’t even get an honorable mention? Tom cruise strapped himself to the side of a plane taking off.
Man mi 5 movie released in 2015 and that list is from 2014 so that is the reason if it is updated it will be top3 or top 5
Really surprised the plane flying through a billboard stunt in Mad Mad Mad Mad World didn't make the list.
"That fuselage is really falling thousands of miles to Earth"
"Thousands of miles to Earth"
"Thousands of miles"
"Earth"
Uhhhh, guys...
Falling thousands of miles to earth? Okay. That's fine. I'm fine.
What about the transporter? 360 barrel roll in a car on a ramp, unhooked a bomb on the bottom of his car using a crane all before landing it perfectly!
Was that CGI though?
elchamber all of it
Don't know why then.
Tom Cruise aka Ethan Hunt fighting John Voight's bad guy on top of a TGV train in Mission Impossible
Oh my... those Jackie Chan ones :o
I think the joke was: plane is supposedly 1000s of miles upwards (orbit) + ground is not moving under them (geosynchronous) = geosynchronous orbit.
MaicoMoon I usually don't pick on people in the comments but do you know how to read?
I my opinion Jackie chan is the greatest martial artist and stunt man ever to live. Nobody comes close to what achievements Jackie has done.
Tom Cruise, MI4 Burj Khalifa Stunts and Mission Impossible 5 plane stunts is Insane!!! (w/ No Doubles Tom Cruise is crazy as fuck)
Jakie, your are great and I'm a big fan from my child hood. I love all you stunts
That helicopter extraction from True Lies always makes me sit up in my seat. My favorite.
you guys should do a top 10 jackie chan stunts. There are plenty to choose from.
Thousands of miles to earth?
10 stunts just showed with people nearly dying and that's all you care about?
this is just going to be jackie chan and tom cruise if its actors doing there own stunts
What I get from this... Jackie Chan is insane and badass!
You could do at least 2 lists alone based on Jackie Chan stunts, a true legend.
