  • These are knockoffs and from what I can tell they aren't actual VEX or RED compounds by Ottsix, its to be expected for a tire like this.

      James Swift injora are actually better tires for the first week or two as far as performance and then they become worse tires as they wear incredibly fast and are good for the garbage within a year. Can’t have it both ways really the prolines can’t be beat.

    I'm not a expert but I'm pretty sure alot of these tires are all manafactured in china or Malaysia, them having the mold is no surprise to me, compounds might be a little more expensive and we see that cost when a american company that wants a competition grade rubber gets their hands on them. I'm just really happy to see so much effort put forth on giving reviews and testing for rc crawler tires , suspension and setups. Hands down the most in depth reviews for parts in comparison to any other rc vehicle. Thank you for doing what you do and giving us viewers a great watch and some knowledge

    I know this is an old video but the story behind these is Matt (Ottsix owner) didn't pay his bill with the China manufacturer, so they started selling off stock cheap.
    I don't know how true the story is, I can't seem to find out, they definitely don't perform as well as 'real' KLRs do, but I am guessing the story is at least 90% true and they are using the real moulds with a cheaper compound.
    I have a couple of sets myself but haven't actually tried them yet.
    Might give them a try on my new 1.9 Wraith I just ordered.

So far I have been able to find quite a bit about Pro-line, but you are one of the few people I watch that has mentioned Ottsix. I would love to see what their product is all about. You also got me interested in the Deepwoods tires. I would love to see a shootout between the Ottsix KLR, the Deepwoods, and Hyrax! It is cool to see how some of the cheaper stuff performs too.

    You know, as a racer we clean tires after each run & condition them with tire dope because you get a better consistent grip with clean sticky tires. We use a upside down scrub brush in a tupperware dish with a lid. I crawl, trail & bash too but after I each run I either pull off wheels or not (depending how many screws that involves with beadlocks) & clean them not only because they cost 60+ a set but even with generic tires the dirt dries the compounds out & they get hard. I know I probably seem to have ocd about it but damn it drives me crazy seeing wheels n tires off a vehicle & still not cleaned.. if they're your favorite tires do em a favor & give em a bath..

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t mind dusty tires but muddy or crusty tires I clean up with a scrubber brush and just use dish soap. Seems to do fine for what I do.

    Considering the ridiculous cost of shipping from the US even to Canada, equal to or more than the cost of the product , it's no wonder people are being wiser with their money. US retailers have made it unaffordable yet complain about lower costs elsewhere. Copyright infractions are not acceptable. But that's how it got to this point.

    I picked up a set of these this week for my son's Sawback. For us, they seem to bite pretty good so far. (We've got a lot of rigs and have...lets see; Hyrax, Super Swampers, Mud Slingers, Deep Woods C3, Losi Rock Claws, Venom something or others that are like FLYPAPER - insane. etc.) I would like to see how they stack up to the KLR Gold or even Hyrax you've tested in the past. But to be honest after the thumping you just gave them, they seem compromised.
    Brother, I normally like your vids but I have to be honest. In this one is just seemed like you put them on and beat the crap out of them with total disregard. Very different from your other content. I'm honestly disappointed with this vid. I really wanted to see how they stacked up and I just got to watch them get chewed up for no good reason. I have followed you for quite a while and I have to say, you have never punished any other tires like this. It is like you wanted this to be a fail. I get it!! Those Chinese manufacturers plainly just steal designs and have no honor in this trade. I don't agree with their practices and avoid them for that reason alone. The only R&D they did was on their rubber. But it is sometimes hard to justify 50.00 to 60.00+ on RC tires. There has to be some middle ground here.

  • @trailcrawler2038
    @trailcrawler2038 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you follow in the group (I ended up leaving) on Facebook... it is said that the Injora tires were supposed to go to Ottsix, but there was an issue with unfulfilled payment for the order of 4.19 tires (which was the only size Injora had at the time). So Injora decided to sell the tires they already made for Ottsix. This is what is going around, so how legitimate that statement is, who knows. Due to all the labeling and stuff, there could be some legitimacy to that story. All I know is, I hated them on my Honcho and Enduro... but absolutely love them on my TRX4.

      So when are you going to be honest on what happened here? I was searching for your tires for nearly 6 months, just the same as a lot of other people then these pop up and you can’t even give an honest reply as to what happened over the past year? What kind of business owner can’t admit if they made a mistake or didn’t pay a bill or whatever may have happened. Leaving customers in the dark is pathetic.

    Looked to be a failure to me...There are so many differences compared to the authentics its not even funny.
    Side ribs look close however the center ribs arent even close.
    The sipes between the knobs on an authentic are cut down to the carcass.. Not shallow like on the fakes...huge difference in grabbing ability.
    The original mould didnt connect the halves in the center...They connected to the inside of the carcass.
    The compound is not even close to the VEX...yes, if you clean them with simple green and your hands are as clean and oil free they do feel rather sticky as most any piece of rubber would.
    These Injoras are an attemp at a great tire and what company wouldnt want a piece of that pie.
    But sorry...these fail miserably to the authentics and its just really sad to see how many people have fallen for the hype these fakes bring with them.
    Most have never owned a set of M/T or MT-X to truly see the difference.
    They were not made in the original moulds and the compound is not the same at all.
    For those who believe its the same mould take another look...Even Injora wouldnt be stupid enough to change anything if they had the original moulds..too many differences to be the same mould so wake up.
