My old Honda CRX HF had 62 BHP and no power steering. I put 201k on it in 11 years. Reliable and thrifty; those are the qualities I liked in it. I hope you enjoy your Spitfire as long as you want. Were it mine, it would be a keeper. Aloha!
I had a ‘69 TR6, and loved it! This makes me sad that I had to sell it! That car left me on the side of the road more than any other…but mountain roads and top down…can’t beat it! Only car I ever had that I had to get on my knees to change the plugs! But still loved it!
I was a snob in the early '70's. My lightly upgraded Datsun 510 was faster, better handling and more reliable than British roadsters like the MBG, Midget and Spitfire. But then a friend handed me the keys to a loaner Spitfire on a fresh October day. I was an immediate convert- feel over performance all the way. Sitting so low and close to the rear axle made it feel lively and engaging in a way that no small sedan could match.

@@davidsmith3828 haha love it! I definitely forgot how it felt to drive this little British car :)

@@steverolfeca that seems to be consensus! Spitfire wins when it comes to style points
I'd keep the 510. The 510 is a way cooler car. Spitfire is way too small for today's road, had a small engine and swing axle. I would never own one.
love to see you keep it. i mean come on man.... date nights in it with wifey. it's a keeper. if you ever have kids.... give it to them.
You have a back seat. I think of the Spit as being VERY small, but maybe not.
Perfect for legless humans of all types!
@@steverolfeca is it even considered a seat? Haha
