The factors that make those cars "bad" are ridiculous. A car from 1918 without A/C - thats unacceptable. A Duesenberg costing as much as a house in Beverly Hills is using too much gas, also unacceptable. And a 1950s land yacht is difficult to find a parking space for, who would have thought. All those cars in Leno's collection are marvels of automotive history, else he would not have bought them.
@@petebeatminister the parking deal is comical, how often do you see a long bed ,Crew cab pickup parked square in a parking space? Never if it’s right in front of a store with no room to swing out. Hell they’re seldom parked right when in the middle of a giant “free form” parking lot. And they are six foot longer than any 50s passenger car . That doesn’t make them useless, or bad ..The fact that they seldom , if ever carry a full load of passengers, and a bed full of of cargo, tools, blah blah blah. Now THAT MAKES THEM “BAD” The operator who takes up more parking spaces that allowed , that’s that BAD part of the scenario. And I never could afford a Duesenberg SJ or a house in Beverly Hills , but if FORCED to drive that old car, or live in That neighborhood, I think I could bare the weight and still hold my head up high.

Before Ford developed the the automobile assembly line, only the rich could afford a car. But it was Eli Whitney, (yes, the inventor of the Cotton Gin, which he made no money from.), who built some muskets for the army, and developed "interchangeable parts", to make an assembly line possible. You are right about the gas mileage. Gas was inexpensive pretty much 1980. I remember in the late seventies it was only $0.50 for several years, and only about 15/20 cents a gallon in the late 60's. It was not an issue in the USA Muscle car era. Nobody asked you what the gas mileage was on a big block 350hp engine, and the owner probably did not know. :) By the way, I had a teacher in public HS 1979 ish who owned a "Duzzey". he was not rich. :) In fact the old saying "That's a Duzzey!" Well, these 20 "worst" are together already a very nice collection that would make many folks jealous. If these are the worst, that is great news for the collection as a whole
That American-LaFrance 1941 was part of a series built for the Army and Navy. In the 1950s and '60s, two of them comprised the structure fire response for Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Uncle was Chief of the Department and I spent much time around them.
Whom ever judged these cars knows nothing about American automotive history. Smaller cars were sometimes purchased as a second car for the housewife. And nobody gave one 💩 SHIT about fuel economy until 1973 with the fuelcrisis? I’d be ashamed for Jay Leno to watch this…… embarrassment of a video!!!!
Lol, the '66 Coronet was a mid-sized car. Very few came with a Hemi. Most with a 318 and very fuel efficient. It was a top seller for Dodge. The Chrysler 300 was one of the fastest cars of the early 60s and has retained it's appeal to this day. Jay knows his cars!
Not sure what "worst" means - unless it is just for clickbait purposes. Nonetheless, an interesting video. None of these cars are "worst." I wonder what the value of the Baker 1909 Electric is today?
None of these are bad, they might be niche at most. I'm pretty sure Jay owns an AMC Pacer wagon, and some other ironic choices. But I guess you got what you wanted, clicks and comments defending Jay's choices. Touché.
This is all a lie. He’s just trying to make a video if the cars were junk jay leno would own them he’s just jealous and he’s using computer animation to talk on the video
I'm not hearing Jay tell us that these are the "worst" cars of his collection. A 56 Nomad? Probably one of the rarest and sought after cars in the USA. Did you just say that to get clicks? Give me a break.
None of these cars are the worse cars in Jay's garage! They are all limited production cars that are unique and which appeal to enthusiasts for their power and handling. You can't criticize an old car because it doesn't have air conditioning or gets bad gas mileage, you just can't and calling it the worse car in Jays garage is an insult to car collectors everywhere!
How could anyone be so wrong? These are classics, destined to be recognized many, many years from now. They have gone through the most stringent evaluation. They are included in one of the greatest collections on this earth.
Not a bad "clickbait" video. I enjoyed it. The creator knows there are no "bad" cars in Leno's collection. Nonetheless, not surprisingly, the ugliest of the lot were Chrysler products.
I had s 1957 Buick Roadmaster Convertible like the one showing Jay Leno driving in the video. Mine was black with red, white and black interior. The last time I saw it was in El Paso Texas in 1966 or 67. Could it be?
The 1918 Cadillac at 6:20... A superb example of Cadillac luxury. If you had a clue what an engine looks like you would recognize one cylinder bank of Cadillac's signature "flathead" V8 engine of that era, a decade before Ford developed its lower cost flathead V8 for the mainstream market segment. The narration of this vid is embarrassingly ignorant.
Bad? Worst? Well, as serious auto collectors know, what a person collects is up to them. I know a person that collects AMC Gremlins. He has several unique. cars, including a rare Levi's edition, and a factory 390 (the 304 was AMC's 'standard' V8. I collect Rancheros. My neighbor has a BEAUTIFUL blue Edsel Ranger Convertible. All of these might be considered 'worst' cars by someone. Who cares? All of us that are serious about cars can talk them all day long. We can even make a case for the guy I know who has three Yugos that look like they just came off the factory floor. And, actually, I would love to have a Geo Metro. I could really use a very simple, relatively reliable, 50 MPG car. Worst car? Who says?
A Yenko Stinger? Seriously? Don Yenko buys 100 of these things through the COPO program (as the video notes) and FREAKIN rebuilds them. 100 of them, and then 100 more then next year. He rebadges them, and manages to get them homologated by the SCCA . . . and they win the National D Prod title in 67 against Triumphs and other long-long-famous SCCA cars. THOSE corvairs are iconic, if you can really compare them to production-based corvairs (which are themselves revolutionary in certain ways, but never mind that). Leno owns challengers (Including modern versions), a coronet, modern vettes, vipers, mustangs (including modern versions), a falcon . . . I think I'll stop at the F's but none of these AMERICAN cars are as unique as that car.
