Just so you’re aware, the only F-150 with the offset license plate is the EcoBoost. Moving the license plate allows for additional airflow to the front of the engine. All of the 5.0s have a centered plate. On the EcoBoost the plate can also only be mounted on the drivers side, not meant for two plates.
Own a F 150 XLT 4x4 with the 3.5 ecoboost 2011. 165000k Replaced the throttle body and did some 4x4 work. Battery is over 10 years old! Change oil every 8000k with full synthetic. Great truck. Was going to buy a Tundra last year, sure glad I didn't!

@@liammiller8947 Plugs changed twice without issue along with recent coil packs and injectors just for maintenance. Engine and chains run quiet as new, chain guides in place. PITA.
I have a 2010 in ingot silver with the old 5.4L V8. 226,000 miles on it. Always loved how well it rides. Has plenty power to tow my bobcat but hands down 5.0 or eco boost are much better motors. Ingot silver is by far my favorite ford color. Looks so nice when it’s clean and it actually hides dirt really well.

LOL, that's funny. I am the opposite. I changed my "chrome" trimmed for these. Direct from Ford dealer, wierd thing is Ford charges a $50 core fee, gotta return old ones. Everyone has their preferences.
I hate that sound also!! Plus the hell I go through keeping a black truck clean without water spots & etc.! But it looks so good when it’s clean & it gets so much attention!
Devon Peters yea I was looking at the fords . I would say get a V6 they are 10x more reliable. And it’s going to be hard to find one that doesn’t have any solid problems at 100k+ miles on a v8 ford. I’ve now stitched to a Ram 1500 Hemi. They are 10x more reliable than the v8 fords. I’m using my tundra 180k miles (still runs perfect) saving money then I’ll prolly buy a new tundra or Ram hemi.
@@brennanmartini2819 Right now I've got 165 on my '14, 5.0L, 4x4 SuperCrew XLT, that I bought new. So far just wear and maintenance items plus Driver's window regulator.
Hey sir, I’m new to vehicles as I’m 15 years old and looking for my first. This truck I found for $8000 with about 180,000 miles on it. I don’t plan to use it for anything particularly intensive, but I found another one that only has 120,000 miles on it for $11,900. Almost the same guts and interior, but way less mileage. Can I get an opinion on what I should do?
If they're the same, I'd probably go with the lower mileage. Of course, vehicle history and condition matter a lot as well. I'd probably prefer a truck with 180,000 miles that has been really well cared for than a truck that's 120,000 miles that's been beat hard. What did you decide to do?
my nephew has this truck and we dont know when or how to properly put it in 4x4 mode. of course we know that we turn the dial selector on dash but we arent sure when to do this or what else we need to do to engage it. please inform..ty
You are incorrect the FX4 was a trim level slotted between the XLT and the Lariat for some years. The last year the F150 came in the FX4 trim was 2014. Look it up just google 401A you will see.
The FX4 trim level of that era could be ordered with the Luxury Edition package which upgraded the interior to the Lariat level. I know as I factory ordered one like that which I still own.
You can try E-bay. I had the "Double C-clamp" in chrome W/chrome surround and changed to 3bar w/painted surround. Not cheap. I just looked 1-22-22. $633 for the complete grill kit (grill and paintable surround, no Ford badge). Ebay.
Can someone honestly advise me ? I always hear ford f150s are tons of problems and unreliable , I find them for sale at affordable prices and it seems every other truck on the road is an f150 of various years . There’s an 09 super cab xlt with 150k miles for 6400 dollars and in great condition and I kind of want to buy it so I can do Home Depot runs and work around my house but I worry about their bad reliability reputation from what I hear .
I never had an issue with mine when I owned one. I actually liked the 5.4l engine. I ended up trading mine in for a 2014 3.5l only because of less rust on the body.
This guy has no idea about this truck e.g., no it doesn’t have a spots for two license plates and the mirrors only have a turn signal on the back, the front is a reflector

this comment was useful i just bought a ecoboost, and i bought a cattle guard for it. so i guess i’ll just have too zip tie my plate too my guard😂
The 3.7 V6 also has the offset plate. If I buy the one I'm looking at maybe I'll get a cattle guard also.@@remingtonwells7286

The side mount tags are for eco boost trucks..... So it does not block the intercooler...

4.6 seemed to be the better of the 3vs. My 5.4 gave me hell. In my 5.4s defense I was a bad new Ford owner didn't keep up w regular maintenance
Lol i love that chime
Do you like the sound of fingernails on chalk boards too? :-)
I thought I was the only one
Which engine is the most reliable? I heard the V8 is the best not sure if 5.0 or 6.2
Great review on that F-150
That window shape is so you can see your mirror

There is an FX2 trim also

Where did you get the front grill?
how many mpg du you getting?

My 2012 fx4 has what seems like is a lariat interior. It's always confused me what trim my truck is
Fx4 is a package not a trim level. Lariat is a trim level.

what brand of bug deflector is that?
clock temp readout sync info sat radio display ac heat guages lot more in there lol
rear seat has a 12v outlet and a househould 120 outlet..
Just a little mistake I noticed. The FX4 is a package to add to trucks. It's not it's own trim.
Sergeant Wolf in this generation it’s an actual trim now it’s a package just like the stx
12th gen FX4 was an actual trim. Now its just a package
Yes the 12th gen is a trim level and was available with or without leather
I believe the fx4 package is added to a XLT truck.
How can I contact with you ? I bought a 4runner, I need your advice about upgrading it

What should I be paying for this exact car? More than $14,000?
Depends a lot on mileage and condition. 14K sounds pretty good for this truck assuming mileage isn't crazy high and condition is good.
What rims and tires are you using?

Is a 2013 f150 5.0 with 25k for 30k decent price?
I’m about to pay $16k for one with 110k on it if that helps.

Yup.
The black-trimmed taillights and console shift are FX4 features.
The 2xTurboV6 mileage drops like a rock when you work it like a v8.
