Well I work in a transmission shop for the last 26 years and you should know the rest of the story. I have done hundreds if not thousands of transmissions and ford has the worst automatic transmissions than any other brand by farr!!!!
Rangers f150s as a matter of fact ALL F super duty series expeditions explorers front wheel drive cars one of the reasons ford stop making cars anymore are all notorious for transmission problems.
Last month we had 2021 F150 39.000 miles it was having transmission problems!!! Ridiculous.
      I have 1997 Toyota T100 4WD (bought it new in 1998) 367.000
miles "AISIN" automatic OD. Shifts perfect up or down cold or hot transmission fluid always red and clean.
Yes that Toyota T100 that all the ford and chevy guys were laughing at due to ignorance and arrogance made a FIVE TIMES better transmission than ford and chevy ever could.
Work at a transmission shop don't talk to me about Ford making good transmissions. Save that story for some kids.

But, with that said, I’ve replaced no less than 1/2 dozen sets in those engines and I have yet to break one. I’ve seen them with 400k+ and still going strong. Some of them had the “Triton tick” from the cam phasers, but most of the time it’s more of an annoyance than a real problem. Heck, my boss’s old truck had almost 300k on it when he sold it. The tick started in the 75k range. That was 7 or 8 years ago. His neighbor still owns it and still drives it daily. It’s probably at 400k or more now.

Although the Ecoboost is a great engine for towing and sports if you're into tuning, the maintenance is a deal breaker for me, rather just buy a basic 5.0 without having to wrench on it every few weeks. Also Ecoboost owners have more oil changes to do because turbos run through new oil very fast.

It still runs like a top and hasn’t even had a warning light come on in the dash in all that time, a lot of which was spent towing an 8000 pound trailer. (I did have had to change one exhaust manifold in 2018.)Proper engine maintenance since day one is the key as far as I’m concerned, when they say 2009 may be one of the best F150 model years ever made I’m inclined to agree based on my experience.

I just need something reliable and not so much of a killer in the pocket on gas. I know it’s a truck with a V-8 but how is gas mileage? What would you consider the value? Hey, didn't know someone replied to me, my gas mileage drops low depending on how I drive in the city as low as 11.3 mpg and when i take it highway 15 mpg, but with proper maintenance ive been able to leave it at 15 mpg and sometimes even up to 17 mpg in the city if i really drive conservatively, the value of these trucks slowly decline, but I'd say they hold value if properly maintained and if you dont treat it like crap, in the end it's a pickup, there is always someone looking to take it off your hands, change your plugs regularly at around every 20,000 miles and oil changes every 5,000 and they hold up nicely, its worked so far for me :)

It was a truck that original owner drove in Pittsburg area of Pennsylvania ( Code for Excessive Road Salt)
I've done a number of the items on your list already:
    1) Replaced leaking Oil pan gasket (Definitely a poor part design)
    2) Replaced Coolant Reservoir assembly and lines that started to leak coolant (Definitely a poor part design)
    3) Cleaned headliner from previous 3rd brake light leak (Terrible design)

    4) Blower blend actuator door is next
    5) Replace Inner Door Seal
    6) Rust in Driver's side rear door sill, Rust on rear wheel arches
One that you didn't mention , but is ALSO VERY COMMON
Oil Pressure Sending Unit controller ....its down in the bottom of the engine block .
Gives the fake oil pressure warning alert....it was a great day when I replaced this.

The bolts that hold the exhaust pipe to the manifold have completely rotted off and have "c" type clamps on them now for over 6 years. I have had to replace the water fitting on the rear of the intake, and replace all coils twice now. No oil leaks and burns about 1 quart of oil between 3000 mile oil changes. Rust on rear fenders and below doors the only growing problem that could be fixed, but I just plan on driving it till it quits. XADO products used in the Engine and Transmission which I give credit to on this truck being on the road. It gets hard use pulling the horse trailer to shows. Considering a 2014 with the 3.5 after driving one and pulling a car on trailer. No problems with load, but in trailer mode, the RPM's were pretty high and often dropping down gears on the highway. Fuel mileage was fairly poor when towing, but hey after driving the 1998 Expedition which gets about 9-10mpg PERIOD, I can get use to 12-17 towing....LOL.

Love my '14 EcoBoost. Maintenance costs & their frequency are quite a bit higher than the 6.2 & 5.0L, then again if ya want anything in this world to last ya have to take great care of it. Ive upgraded several things and added a few personal customized touches. Not long ago, these engines were limited to professional racing. Operated during a single race b4 they would pull them out of the cars again.
If ya Don't get lazy on servicing it & ya aren't foolish enough to follow the manufacturers over stretched service intervals.... they last and perform great. Replace vital components known to commonly fail, like the plastic parts under the hood, they cheap skated on. Change your plugs yearly, be selective on core type & brands, adjust the gapping to what your truck operates best at, even on non adjustables, do 3k oil changes not 5k or 7.5k, service the tranmission & rear diff atleast yearly, transfer case & front diff 1.5-2yrs, flush coolant system around every couple yrs, dont cheap out on oils, additives or gas octane, clean all 3 intake sensors & throttle body every oil change, Periodically apply an oil lubricant to door & window seals, take 30-45min ocassionally to do a detailed front-back top-bottom every nook & cranny inspection. Those inspections will save ur butt, ur wallet, & ur truck.
Unlike chinese trash & american auto products.... Japanese manufacturing have continued embodying our once, "built in america", qualities for a very long time. So if Looking for aftermarket replacement upgrades, try a few Japanese made parts. they have mass produced many of the iconic automotive innovations ford finally started incorporating (like turbocharging, interference engines, v8-v12 power from a v6) decades ago. They continue to use some of the highest quality materials in built to last aftermarket products.
Unfortunately- American Corporations centered around Manufacturing- are structured for profit over craftsmanship & build quality. Its exactly the same platform used by those globally known smart phone companies... this is also known as planned obsolescence. intentional flaws, using cheaper and/or low quality materials, rushing "new" products to the market only slightly better than the previous product, or taking too many short cuts leaving customers holding the bag in the end.
    Leaves ya wondering wtf america.

The 2014, 1516 Ford Festiva’s they have a problem that you have to clean the ground because you get resistance in there It’s a manual transmission and it won’t shift right if electronically controlled manual transmission they got this idea from the beetle bugs. The only difference is they made it electronically controlled so you have a standard transmissions that shift automatically which is a good design. Yes it has its problems and it’s very expensive to fix. It’s not a normal clutch. You have to have special tools to take this clutch assembly out. It’s a grand just for the clutch it’s not something you should you can just put a disc in and replace it because they are a sealed unit. It has rivets on the pressure plate you replace it that is it, and after you put the trans back in you have to have a scanner because you have to re-teach the solenoids relearn them a little relearn procedure or the vehicle will not ship or go down the road and it will throw codes and why do you have it out you clean? All three grounds up because they do get resistance and they will acting goofy. They have a problem with their PCM. The driver is going bad in the PCM. The PCM is on national backorder you have to order it aftermarket is the only way to get it right now you could get the solenoids from Ford but the PCM is not available right now from Ford unless it’s under warranty you’ll get it quicker if it’s under a Ford warranty, we have installed doorman PCM’s and never had an issue but you’d have to have them flashed and they work great and it’s a lot cheaper than Fords prices and it does the same job and get you back on the road without being poor

Basically all the vehicles have problems, Ford GM Chrysler, a Kia dodge all of them. If you’ve never worked in a dealership, you don’t see the most common issues you only see the common issues that the vehicle that you’re driving if you don’t work on him for a living you see a lot of issues it’s not just one vehicle. They all have problems. That’s why we have jobs so we can fix the computer System malfunctions fix the screw ups the robots dead they think robots are the thing you gotta have humans to fix robots but most of the common issues is on electrical is N 99.9% of the problem is when a vehicle has a major electrical issue is alarm system remote starter, something has been added in the system. I’ve found where vehicles that do not have anything added into them aftermarket don’t really have an issue as long as you keep up make sure your grounds are clean. I must of gotten lucky with my '12 5.0l the only issues I've had are the cheap connectors for the trans cooler breaking and wasting all my tranny fluid. And the Y-connector o-rings leaking coolant. Also snapped two of the eight Coil Over Plug bolts. Aluminum bolts and threaded steel inserts in the plastic head cover seems like an intentional act to cause repairs. More anti-consumer crap from the UAW tyrants.
