  • In this video I show you the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited AWD in Atlas White with Gray H-Tex interior. The Ioniq 5 has won many awards since launch and continues to be a competitive offering. For 2023, it receives some nice upgrades including battery preconditioning and slightly more range for AWD models although with a modest price increase. The Ioniq 5 continues to be one of the leaders in the affordable EV segment however with recent changes to legislation, it no longer qualifies for federal tax credits. Let me know what you think of the Ioniq 5 Limited AWD in the comments below!

The field to the left of the cluster is for placing notes/tickets with a magnet. ;-)

The front passenger seat should have the same reclining features as the drivers seat.

Great review! Love the car but is it still selling way above MSRP?

Thank you! I have seen many selling for MSRP as of the last few weeks. The Limited and certain RWD combinations can be harder to find depending on your location in the country.

Brand new Smart Frequency Dampers were introduced for the 2023 Model Year Ioniq 5 as an upgrade to the previous suspension system to improve ride and handling (Possibly only in Europe so far..)

The ride comfort is excellent in the ‘22. Are you wanting better handling?

For the life of me, I cannot understand why Hyundai put USB-A ports in this car. That is old technology. I'm also surprised that it doesn't support wireless Apple CarPlay.

I believe the switch to USB-C in most their vehicles is right around the corner. There are still many people who use USB-A (because they are still being shipped with them) so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a mix of Type A and C in vehicles for several more years. The Venue has both USB port types which is nice.

@@CarsMadeSimple That makes sense. I guess they did their research and the data showed that most people still use USB-A for charging. Same with wireless CarPlay. They probably calculated that most people charge their phone with a corded connection, which means the customer will likely plug their phone into a USB outlet every time they get into the car, so using CarPlay through a wired connection isn't an inconvenience.

I have the Apple car play in my 2023 ionic 5 and I use it quite often.

You missed one important issue with Hyundai and Kia evs. They don’t have over the air systems upgrades. They are not planned for vehicles until the 2025 or 2026 model years and will not extend backwards to current models,
Already issues with battery preheat etc
Thus buying these cars is same as buying smartphone which does not allow you to update operating system or download apps. This will result in significant depreciation for these vehicles

The dealer can perform vehicle updates if they are necessary. Hyundai introduced the battery preconditioning function for 2022MY Ioniq 5's with AWD via a dealer software update.

They both do OTA updates for some features. The early 2022's did not have that option but you could download updates for the infotainment system and maps at home, put them on a usb drive and update it that way. After you installed one of the recent updates now it will download and install them directly with out needing to install them from a USB drive. You get a message when your turn your car on saying update is ready to install and asks to do it now or later.
People have took their 2022's in for a full system update that adds the battery precondition feature from the 2023 back to the 2022 models. We have a 2022 but have not got the update installed since we mainly charge at home or work and don't have a need to fast charge normally. I'll get it updated sometime.

Omg. I happened to own this vehicle and it does update periodically.
