    You had your trammel set at the radius(8"), all you had to do was swing arcs on your cardboard and repeat all the way around. It will divide the circle into 60° segments. Use every other one for 3 spokes.

    • @ryanjones9305
      @ryanjones9305 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was sitting here saying the same thing when he was laying that out. Watching him do that was exactly how I’d imagine watching man cub bake a cake would be....painful and awkward.

    • @MrJoshItIs
      @MrJoshItIs 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never used this tool, so I can't see how it would mark 60º segments, I have another trick that I used to use, hard to explain without showing. However I was going to say the pencil should be the same depth as the pivot from the cross bar or else the diameter changes (slightly, but still).

      ah, I get it now....

    • @lunkydog
      @lunkydog 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrJoshItIs if you swing an arc on the drawn circle with your compass or trammel set on the radius and then repeat from the point where it crosses the OD all the way around, you'll end up back at the start and the circle divided into 6ths.

    Upgrade your tube roller with some swag off-road parts. I did it with mine and it turned out awesome. Would make a great welding video also!

    I have one this bender, and this equipment made me crazy, so I had to buy one Electric one, bought a Vevor, and was able to do the job.

  • @michaeldvorak5556
    @michaeldvorak5556 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When your rolling the tubing, as it bends, the ends are being pulled by gravity and want to rotate the pipe to get as close to the floor as possible. If you had something pulling up on the ends as you roll it back and forth the pipe can't rotate. Perhaps attaching each end of a bungee cord to the pipe ends and stretching it over something like a rafter. Just a thought.

    I noticed the ShopPro cnc plasma table. I added a simple gravity actuated felt tip marker holder to may Z axis. Now I do some of the harder lay outs in cad, sometimes just by adding a layer to my cad file.

    Fantastic build, but you made the cooking grates upside down. You should’ve made them catch the grease from the food and angled it so it would funnel down to the end to a catch tray. That way, you don’t have grease flame up in the fire burning your food.

    You could have cut all of that on your CNC and you wouldn’t have to do any of the calculations that you did. Also no welding of spokes needed with that method.
    Love the channel. I learn new tricks all the time.

  • @danburch9989
    @danburch9989 ปีที่แล้ว

    Take the outside diameter of the hub and subtract that from the inside diameter of the rim. Divide that result by 2. That's the length of the spokes. If you're accurate with your measurements, the three spokes should automatically center the hub when you tack them in. THEORETICALLY!

    Hey guys....the grill angles are backwards for me ......they will fill with meat stuff ...grease ...it will be a pain in the ..beeep to clean !!!!
    When we do grills we use round bars ! Less materials

    • @GodslilRedneck23
      @GodslilRedneck23 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Far High the angles are a traditional method used for this grill, they would have a 5° tilt towards the front with a catch basin to collect the grease. That was the original plan, but you’ll see in episode 5 we changed the Cooking surface completely.

    Hey guys I was introduced to you by sam the cooking guy and I'm also a welder. I'm pretty good at mig welding but my boss just told me that since I pay so much attention to detail that he wants me to learn how to run the new robotic tig welder. I can fuse stuff myself quite nicely but have little experience with filler rod. Any tips would be helpful!!!

  • @Herr_Bone
    @Herr_Bone 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How to divide a circumference into 3 (6) parts? Without calculator, without measuring tape, without mathematics, even without knowing how the diameter of your circle? Only with your compass? And exactly? So easy: After you have drawn your circle with the compass, you prick the compass somewhere exactly on the circumference and draw short circular arcs on the left and right at the places where they cross the big circle. There you prick your circle again in and make the next bows. Repeat until you are around the circle once. Finished. Why this works? Every hexagon inside a circle has an edge length exactly equal to the circle radius. This is compass and straight-edge construction. Try it out and you do not want to use your shown method again.
