  • a quick video i put together on a quick detach mount i made for the PARD NV008 night vision scope, this mount lowered the scope by half an inch and makes it easier to change between rifles, may not work for all rifles but works perfectly for my applications.
    be mindful factory screws will be too long for this mount.

    Good job Rob, you solved the issue of over the counter issues with mounts aswell as eye relief to be spot on in this instance.

    Well done , that was the biggest fault with the 008 , the mount , simple and good solution .

    Mate fantastic info!! I just picked up a pard 008. I'll be sure to get this mount and get it machined to suit... Clearly it's way better

    Great idea has it been tried for air rifles bearing in mind magazine position and height.

    Excellent idea, why can’t the manufacturer come up with a better mount design for the 008, that’s why I’m hesitant buying one I’ve heard the cross hairs don’t self centre on the screen.

    • @robincoker225
      @robincoker225  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct the reticle stays in the position zeroed hence why shimming is required if a long way from center.

    • @fridolfmane1063
      @fridolfmane1063 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shouldn't be any need to shim if you are shooting real rifle cartridge.
      If you're shooting 22' or pellets then you might have to use the shims that come with it.
      The reticle will center in the sight, but will not be centered on the footage you film (couldn't care less about that) the biggest issue is that they have cheap-assed on the mount and that the nuts will back out when you fire your rifle, it cant be trusted so you try to get a tight fit and you end up breaking the frail little bolts made of chinesium as a result. So unless you have the craftmanship of Robin here and access to a workshop with a mill i recommend ("Innomount" type mount designed for the 008 made in germany)

      @@robincoker225 What eye relief do you have with this mount?

  • @themadmanmaxx4321
    @themadmanmaxx4321 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Since you already did the work and know the exact science for it..
    Why not produce some for sale.
    In fact, I'll be your first costumer.
    I do have a question though..since you did this modification. Did you notice a change in the reticle zero..( pards require shimmering to prevent reticle from being too far in a particular direction.

    • @robincoker225
      @robincoker225  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On my tikka 204 the zero is x-38y-60 pretty close to centering run fire and air rifles may need shimming. I don't own the mill so hard to produce them

  • @fridolfmane1063
    @fridolfmane1063 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The nuts on the original mount will back out and you will most likely end up snapping the frail little bolts made of chinesium.
    Had to order a innomount-mount (made in germany) to sort this out its 300eur no other way around it unless you have cnc machinery or a workshop.

      I had it made by a machinist mate. I'm sure if you showed this video to a machinist they could copy the mount for you

    most of the complaints about the original mount is that you end up with reticle significantly off centre and having to shim. As you say the bottom of the groove is the only supporting surface and you have now created a self centering 3 point contact (?). Can you share with us what the x and y co-ordinates were with the original mount and then with your custom mount? Thanks and regards

      Yeah I’ve heard the cross hairs don’t self centre, that’s the only reason I haven’t bought one yet.
