Hades: So welcome to the Underworld
    Heron: YOU STABBED ME!
Hades: I can explain. Proceeds to explain sad backstory
Heron: Oh wow I completly understand the reasons you did this.
    Hades: Really!?
Heron: Well yeah, except for one thing?
    Hades: What's that?
Heron: Why didn't you explain this BEFORE YOU STABBED ME!!?

@@greenwolf570probably because heron didn't actually try to understand why Hades out of all them is even fighting. Quite frankly Heron talked about going back to the status quo without asking anything so while hades can be blamed for just not explaining it, Heron just jumped straight into it without knowing anything. He came in just like Gaia with a solution that expected everyone to just forget all the bad blood that happened, that's not how things work. Him coming in and saying "all right that's enough it doesn't matter why we're here at the end of the day we're going back to way things are by the way you have to let it go it doesn't matter what it's about" that literally unreasonable. Why is Gaia surprised it wouldn't work?

@@user-lp8im7ow8s that's idealistic but that's not realistic that's not going to work because you are coming in being unreasonable and most importantly unthoughtful because you're basically telling everyone it doesn't matter when it does in fact matter especially to the people that are going through the issue itself you haven't been going through it can easily say that. Gaia coming in and basically telling everyone it's either you guys follow the status quo or die does not ingratiate herself in fact it makes her talking high and mighty about innocent people being hurt over the fights between the gods pointless because she's about to let that happen by releasing Typhon. her speaking to Hades like she doesn't know why he's doing it anyway why he's decided now to fall to the level of the rest of his family only makes her seem like she's either unthoughtful and unwilling to understand where he's coming from or flat out ignorant. Neither her or Heron came into the conversation as if they're willing to understand why everything is happening they came in making dictates and were surprised someone disagreed.

I don't blame Hades for what he did.
Heron basically wanted everything to go back to *exactly the way it was.* Which means Hades staying in the Underworld having to watch the souls of the deceased suffer and Persephone having to leave him and their children for six months of each year.
Hades did all of this to ensure that things would change forever, and his family would never be separated again, so I can see why going back really wasn't an option for him.
Not to mention he swore to his wife, children and himself that she would never have to leave them again.
This poor guy legit has to bid farewell to the woman he loves, mother of his children and his *Queen* at the end of every winter and is forced to watch his children cry at the beginning of each spring. That's enough to break down any man.
Besides, it's not like he enjoyed killing Heron or anything. The man was in literal tears over killing his own nephew. And Persephone certainly wasn't amused by her beloved husband stabbing her brother/cousin in the chest.

What Heron said was correct. he showed something those so-called "gods" knew nothing about, forgiveness. if it was anyone else in his position it would just be more war and destruction. that's what those fuckers seem to be best at INCLUDING HADES. He's not some nice guy who was tricked a betrayed left and right. he's not some victim you seem to make him out to be. BALANCE HAD TO BE RESTORED. there must be a ruler of the underworld and Hades is the man for the job. NOW if he had problems with going back. You have to watch shows in perspective. We as viewers know everybodys situation, but they themselves dont know each others unless being spied or talked about. Limited to his knowledge and following exactly what zeus, gaiu had left behind, he is instilling that forgiveness is the key to moving on, but hes unaware of hades part in this. Matter of fact, this is the first time he has ever interacted with his uncle. “Guys, we have to forgive each other and go back to our respective homes”. WE as the viewers see hades struggle and the lengths hes gone to protect and reunite his family. Nobody knew how much hades struggled other than his wife and demeter. They knew the underworld was terrible, but they definitely undersold it. End of the day, Heron was doing what was best for everyone, like he even calmed down ares just a bit to at least listen. I believe in season 3, hades and zeus will talk it out and eventually hades will receive a much better station or maybe even transform the underworld into something more tolerable. Who knows. I just dont want to wait years for it.

Meets his mom Electra before face the judgement.
Whatever the judgement decision, Hades helps Heron free Zeus from Tartarus.
With Zeus and Heron out of Tartarus they join the battle against the Typhon and save the day.
With that, the Olympians age prevails and they figure that they must change their behaviours and Gaia forgives them.

For me, Demeter was the true villain here, because it was her possessive behavior toward Persephone, that leads to that she caused that the family of Hades was divided.
Adding thay during the events of Season 2, it was Demeter who plotted to take over the power in the Olympus, manipulating and blackmailing Hades, to used his grief and wish to has Persephone always with him, to makes that Hades work for her.
Adding that Demeter hadn't qualms in unleashes a plague in the world, only to weakens the other gods, disgarding the genocide in the mortals caused by this epidemy. And to insult to injury, Demeter had the nerve to lied Persephone, and blamed Hades for this incident, saying that this was his idea, when Hades was actually shocked and disgusted for the plan of Demeter.
Being honest, i dare to say that Demeter is far worse than Hera, because playing to Devil's advocate, Hera became a nasty piece of work because Zeus was constantly cheating her, turning Hera in a bitter and paranoid goddess. Unlike Demeter, who was a scum of goddess since the beginning, adding that Demeter hasn't qualms in harm innocent people from her issues, only to manages her selfish objectives, like when threated with leaves a permanent winter, if Persephone wasn't returned to her, making Demeter a more evil goddess than Hera if you analyze it.

    1. If Hades had to be antagonist I'm glad that they did it this way. You legitimately feel for the guy, because you get the sense he doesn't actually *want* to hurt people. Not really.
Its just that he has easily the gloomiest , but important, job out of all the Olympians which made him really bitter and as tortured as the souls he rules over. And the one person who makes it better, Persephone, isn't even able to be with him for more than half a year because Demeter throws a hissy fit and constantly threatens to throw the world into an eternal winter.
You really get the sense the guy was dealt a sh!t hand, while all the other Olympians were allowed to whatever they wanted and could indulge in their famial drama.
    2. This is a pretty accurate depicition of Gaia. She is literally mother nature incarnate. She can be beautiful, nurturing and kind but she can also be brutal and destructive if it means maintaining balance
Her summoning/birthing *Typhon* , the king/father of all monsters, in response to the Olympians being total pieces of sh!t and doing insane damage to the world with their constant bickering is pretty myth accurate. Its quite literally the planet fighting back with a walking natural disaster.
He's essentially to Zeus what Zeus was to Chronos. A being destined to overthrow and end the age of the Olympians. And he's more than powerfull enough to do it too as he straight up beat Zeus in their first round and in their second, Zeus drops a mountain on him to end the fight. He didn't actually *kill him* , just put him in timeout.

Let me just say bravo to this comment ! It is amazing to see someone as interested in this show and Greek mythology as much as me ! What are your thoughts on next season and the fate of Heron? I was thinking maybe Gaia or even Hades would bring him back as hades did for seraphim.
It would be interesting to see Gaia bring Heron back to life but I wouldn't be super surprised after she called him a "noble hero" and how she was speaking to him the whole season. They could possibly keep Heron dead for maybe a day or two, something like that, for him to connect with his mother and Zeus and for him to like "discover" himself more in a way, or to maybe look back on his life. It'll definitely be interesting nonetheless!
I know it is not easy to come back from the dead in greek Mythology, but also not impossible.
For example Hades has the power to give your life back, is not something that he was supose to do for everyone, but he has the power, take for example the time he allowed Orpheus to rescue his wife ( not Hades fault that Orpheus decided to break the only rule of the whole thing, after Hades warned him not to do that)
Another common way for Demigods is to become a full god after death, that happened to Hercules and Asclepius, after they are killed they basically evolved from demi-gods into full gods.
You have the old "drink ambrosia" option, that they used to turn the dead Psyche into a goddess so who knows if not Gaia there are def options !

I lowkey agree with gaia here. Her grandchildren have so many gifts and immortality on top of that and what do they do with it ? They plot, backstab, cheat and try to kill each other. Her anger is justified imo, she tried her best to show them a better path. The path of forgiveness instead of dwelling on who wronged who for what reason they could’ve and should’ve let go of the past and strived for a better future together. And despite her best efforts they failed on doing so. Gaia understands that to a certain extent no one is innocent there and blaming each other will cause nothing but bloodshed. A great example of this is Hera. You could say this was all her fault but was she not wronged herself? She was constantly embarrassed and cheated on by her husband zeus. She was forced live with his bastards, look at them and be reminded of her own husband’s infidelity for years. She was wronged but that doesn’t mean she was right either, trying to kill zeus’s children born out of wedlock because of her frustrations with her husband, bringing destruction to her own home are inexcusable, she was wrong for that. Same two sided argument could be made for everyone there; yes they were wronged but they were also in the wrong. That’s why they must let go of the past, forgive each other and move on. Gaia understands this and she tried her best to make her grandchildren understand this as well but they didn’t. So now she’s hitting the reset button on the olympians and truth be told, I don’t blame her.

I don’t really blame Hades for killing Heron. The so-called chosen one tells everyone to resume their positions and “be better”, but doesn’t even ask why they’d go to war to change things? Hades endures a different type of torture than the souls he oversees, but it’s still torture that he cannot escape from and had physically changed him while all the other gods stayed the same. He has Persephone, but only for half of the year and doesn’t have the power to really be with her. Even when she’s there, there’s a chance that she’ll be tormented the longer she stays (he didn’t even ask her to stay in the Underworld when she ate the seeds because he probably didn’t want her to be stuck down there, too). Not to mention that his children can’t leave the Underworld with their mother, so they’ll be forced to endure living there until they’re unrecognizable. He had a chance to save them all from that fate, but now the “hero” is telling him that he needs to go back because “we’re wiping the slate clean?” Hades did all this so he could use the power for good, not greed. He made a promise to his wife and kids that they won’t have to live like this, and as a tortured god, he wants to keep that promise, even if it means killing the hero.

While he was wrong to kill Heron and his actions were evil, it's hard to blame him. cheated of his birthright, bound to a poisonous realm, forced to be separated from his love half a year and to see his children suffer for it. And the recents events only made things worst.
It wasn't greed, envy or lust for power that drove him. It was desperation and fear. That's why he didn't try to that to Heron. He was desperate and in a moment of weakness, he acted. It's true that he was wrong, but he was not evil.

Ok, let me clear the air. This show deviates from its sourc material, literally beginning by saying the most of the story was no transcribed. Gaia wanted Heron to teach the gods forgiveness and not revenge through power.
So imagine... After Heron did as she asked and showed them a better way that Haded still killed him. She was outraged (understandibly) that after all Heron and Seraphim sacrificed up to this point to show the gods a better way only to be cut down.
Who wouldn't biew them as hopeless. She even helped to defeat the giants for them. After losing the Titans, which were basically her children to their "peace" and still watch them go about their wicked, selfish ways this was a peaceful resolution she wanted. Gaia IS the earth. So ofc she must be tired of all the wars and blodshed.
Maybe you guys should pay attention and actually read into the sidelines. Not everything is as simple as: she did something bad, so she is evil. It was the final act of anger and disappointment from an ancient grandma sick of her kids and great grandkids warring on each other.

Let's be honest ...Who wouldn't do the same as Gaia did? :D Like she said, first Zeus and his terrible appetite for women, Hera, who took revenge in very bad ways, Demeter, who poisoned the world (or better say Earth, so I am not surprised, Mother Earth is pissed of), and Hades, who killed Heron. Like really, Gaia was right in punnishing them, but at her place, I would choose different option and not this one :D
