Hades was quite handsome in his earlier years. However, countless eons ruling the underworld: the stress, isolation, and betrayal scarred him emotionally and mentally. His appearance was even warp/ twisted. Also, it was wrong how Zeus and Hera cheated him.
At first I thought that monster was just someone completely original or not much known, but when Gaia was about to chant Typhon’s name, I immediately started to feel suspicious like “wait, it’s Typhon!” Then as she chanted Typhon’s name, I was like “I KNEW IT!”
For me, the moment Hades started telling that "it would grow to become more powerful than Titans and Giants combined" and his design immediatly told me that it was Typhon, most importantly when they imprisoned him "below Mount Etna" and the way the Gods feared him that they didn't dare to speak his name. When Gaia finally said it in the end, a chill came down my spine.

Loved seeing Hecate in this! Hecate is seen as a neutral deity but would only intervene if her followers were threatened. The only reason she killed Clytius was because he was harming her followers. It makes sense she would seal Typhon away to protect her own. Hecate and Typhon were one of the few deities that Zeus feared. The cosmic world soul. She who draws power from the infinite sea. She the membrane between worlds.
Hecate is one of my favorite titans from this pantheon. I was so happy to see her! I really want them to show us Nyx/Nox next season..I want them to show how powerful the primordials are!

His wife Echidna was a fellow giantess/monster, whom he impregnated once - but instead of just one or twin children, she gave birth to literally every Greek monster (other than those who have different backstories, like Medusa or Minotaur)...
The Kraken belongs the scandinavian myths, but media through the years mixed him up with the greek mythology, just like Hades is often treated as the "Devil" when he is nothing like that in Greek mythology (and this series proves it).

The Fields of Elysium… The Isle of the Blessed that houses the likes of Achilles, Attis, Perseus, Hector, Theseus, Atalanta, Helen and Adonis… most likely Medusa after she gets killed and becomes beautiful again as the curse breaks. Most likely Alexander the Great after he dies at the height of his glory. The Isle of the Blessed is supposed to be as beautiful as Mount Olympus. And he gets to rule over all that!
Yeah but most of the Underworld is miserable. And as he put it, he has to feel the pain and sorrow of every mortal that dies. Especially those that were murdered and their regret of leaving their loved ones behind.
Hades got the shorter end of the stick and was literally "Set Up" to be the keeper of the underworld by Zeus and hera. The fact is Hades was the noblest and perhaps the most honorable of the big 3. The underworld wasn't a pleasant place for him. And over time, its darkness began to grip and take hold of him.
