Honestly I’m glad they stayed true to hestia being the purest out of the bunch cause those two sisters of hers are a piece of work especially Demeter
Demeter was not a vilain in greek myths, sure she acted like a lioness to find and protect her child and in her grief the crops withered and mortals suffered but she didn't do it on purpose.
Her beef was with Zeus and Hades not the mortals.
It wasn’t that high bar to begin, but still. She seems nice
@@thehermit8723Demeter cursed a guy for cutting trees into a devourer until he ate his own daughter yeah she was pretty like wow

Hades is right to have some resentment. I'm glad this Hades isn't evil. Just complicated.

Hades didn't do this for just himself though, it was mostly his family which pushed him to the edge.
''If you really are one of the most powerful gods, then she wouldn't have to go.'' - Melinoe
Besides, that Hades (slightly) lowered himself to the level of the other gods, is basically the point, Hades had already tried to be fair and virtuous for an eternity, but the other gods didn't care. Only when Hades acted with force and power, were the others bothered enough to listen.
''I have tried to be fair... But only with blood, can what has been done, be undone.'' - Hades

In the tales, Hades was actually the pretty chill dude compared to his brothers Zeus and Poseidon who were crazy
If I was Hades I'd have been like: "Say hi to dad for me jackass."
I dislike how they did Hades but everything else was fine. I sort off expected them to make Hades what Poseidon and Gaia were. He should have been like his Mythic Counterpart who was a Family Man through and through and tried everything possible to prevent bloodshed and was a Voice of a Reason and if he couldn’t prevent a Fight he always stayed Neutral.
The without a doubt worst part was when they made Hades so miserable and a simp that he allowed Demeter to unleash Covid-19 on Hellas instead of stopping her. Mythology Hades would have gutted Demeter right then and there.
They should have made Poseidon the Villain who was after the Eleusinan Stone cuz In Myths Hades chose the Underworld right after the Titans were dethroned and was totally fine there it was Poseidon who was always causing Havoc and Trouble and didn’t give two fucks about Mortals or the fragile Balance of Powers, was envious and tried to dethrone Zeus multiple times. Hades actually always had Zeus back and even helped him escape from a trap Hera, Poseidon and Athene laid in the Ilad.
The best depiction of Hades ironically came from AC Odyssey where he was a wise Ruler but also a sadistic Master Manipulator who took great pleasure in hearing the Guilty and Useless tortured in Tartarus or being stuck in Asphodel and the Fields of punishment cuz that’s how he is described in Myth. He rules the Four Realms of the Underworld harsh but he also ain’t merciless and always gives Mortals chances to redeem themselves by working for him and adding him guide Souls to their eternal peace while taking joy in seeing evil Souls being tortured. Plus like his Mythical Counterpart he is a fuckin GAMBLER!!!!!!!!!
I really hoped that they would have broken the trend of making Hades the bad guy and made him instead the Voice of Reason that Hera was in Season 2 telling the other Gods that fighting would get them nowhere. Instead of manipulating, he should have been actually trying redeem Seraphim if only for his own amusement till Poseidon or Ares managed to bride Seraphim to support them all while Hades was watching everything and making Bets with either Gaia on who screws up first and while betting they discuss Mortals and Gods alike all while watching Heron and Seraphim. The Final Episode before Gaia crushed the Stone should have instead shown that the Stone everyone was fighting over was actually fake and shattered after Heron spends the decoys power. Then Hades appears alongside Gaia revealing that he had the actual Stone the entire Time after Gaia gave it to him to keep it safe, cuz she knew that some of the Gods would try dirty tricks. Hades then gives it to Heron while tossing a Drachma coin 🪙 to Gaia saying „It appears you win the bet Grandmother.” It’s then where Heron gets backstabbed by Ares or better yet Poseidon and all hell breaks loose and the Series ends with Typhon being unleashed, the Gods running away in fear all while Hades escorts Heron’s and Seraphim’s souls to the Underworld to the Isle of Blessed uniting the two Brothers with their mother together for the First Time saying that they can rest now.

While I do believe he should've been more level-headed and neutral like his mythological counterpart, at the same time I think he reserves the right to be a little bit bitter with Zeus. He's been stuck with the worst job of all, ruling The Underworld, while parts of it are nice like Elysium and Asphodel, Hades is the one stuck watching over Tartarus and unable to see the woman he loves for half of the year while his children grieve her absence.
Meanwhile Zeus, his youngest brother who by all accounts should be bowing to him has been running around making a mockery of himself and the gods by sleeping with every woman he remotely fancies and when the Demigod children those women bear die, they end up in Hades care, along with everyone who died because of Zeus' fling of that week.
Zeus gets to be King of The Gods while Hades is stuck cleaning up his mess.
No, he could not. Zeus is the strongest Olympian and everyone else fears him more or less and with good reason. He soloed Typhoon while Hades and everyone else ran away to Egypt to hide...

ya um at least in myth hades rigged the lots so he'd get the underworld and Zeus would get the sky so he'd be as far away from him as was possible. Hades spent most of the myths doing everything in his power to not interact with his brother he could.

I am pretty sure Poseidon is the worst here. He never would have accepted a 50-50 cointoss about whether he has to go Hell or not. He probably had Hera secure him the ocean as compensation for keeping his mouth quiet

-he inprisoned Prometheus for helping the humans cause he was salty he tricked him condemning him to an eternity of getting eaten by an eagle until he felt bad and let herakles free him
-He planned the trojan war resulting in god knows how many casualties
-He ordered the creation of Pandora who released all ills upon humanity
-commited a mass extinction ( tbf the humans were violent and only cared about killing eachother but from what i recall zeus only did it cause those humans didn't sacrifice anything to the Gods)
-In some versions this doofus killed asclepios because and i quote from pseudo Apollorodus "Zeus was afraid that men might learn the art of medicine from Asklepios and help each other out"
-The mother of Athena Metis helped Zeus dethrone cronos, She was destined to have a son that will dethrone Zeus i believe and in response he "ate" her.
He didn't plan the trojan war, that was provoked by Aphrodite.
This is the first time I'm hearing about zeus punishing hera over heracles but if that's true, that's actually a good thing considering what she made that guy go through.
@efaristi9737 In some myths, Zeus knew in advance the consequences of not inviting Discordia. And the competition that would soon follow afterwards. It is also implied that the war was also used to thin the herd of demigods that were all over the place in ancient Greece. And even way before that during the creation of Troy several of the Olympians had rebel and lost against Zeus, Athena, Posiedon, Apollo and others that I can't recall. As always Athena got off Scott free while Posiedon had to help build Troy. Posiedon when he was done assisting the Trojans he tested the walls with 2 serpents and if they got in then Troy was doomed to fall in the future, and so the serpent managed to enter and Troy's doom was prophesied.
The last thing I wish to mention is that Zeus may think with his other brain but he does use his main brain when it comes to his rule. In fact the times he is the most clever is when his kingship is threatened and you get a whole different Zeus.

I like that Hades, although he holds a grudge against Zeus, in a way, loves him, because for him not to have thrown Zeus into the pit of lava, my friend, there must be a brotherly love there.
I agree, when he tells Zeus off in the trial, about his sins and the consequences of his actions, he sounds more like a disappointed older brother rather than a spiteful one.
Although it is interesting to see a version of Zeus who is recognized for his many mistakes, the truth is that this judgment skipped a good number of things, and if he were even more faithful to mythology, Zeus would not have acted so stoic when he knew what he was going to do. to die or to be judged.
Zeus did not want any of his children to rebel against him, so he treated Ares badly all his life and ate Metía for fear that his daughter (Athena) would rebel against him, she is just like her father and grandfather, someone who refuses to accept his destiny and lose his power.
Only so mich you can bring into a 30min cartoon while also keeping things interesting
And let’s not forget that he raped and killed His mother Rhea
i think Zeus wasn't afraid of Athena but of Athena's brother (that never was born) because it was stated that he would be more powerful than him
I found funny how the people thinks Zeus is evil corrupt or something like that and think he is a man-child.
"You brought this on yourself." - Hades is working an angle, but he's not wrong. In fact, he is absolutely right.
Hera conspired against him. Poseidon knew and did nothing. Zeus realized the deception only in the moment when it happened, but went along with it becuz he did not want to be shackled to the Underworld.
Also, Hades made a valid point that Zeus could not deny - He left Seraphim to a terrible life, unjustly resenting him for the evils of his father, and so he refused to reunite the boy with his mother and brother, wanting them to himself.
Hades is scheming too, but his actions and reasons are not without just cause; Hera and Poseidon both claim Zeus was the better candidate to rule the Heavens, but their assertions as to why are not justified. Not to mention, Zeus was a consummate philanderer, having affairs left and right, resulting in Gaia knows how many illegitimate children, and since he is Zeus he cannot really be punished for his frivolous misdeeds... leaving his lovers and children to suffer instead.
Hera was rightfully angry at her husband's constant infidelity, but not justified in taking out her rage on the women and children, many of whom did not even know the man was Zeus until it was far too late.
Poseidon is not all that better, and he's guilty of the same thing, having fathered illegitimate children of his own from time to time though not as much as Zeus.
Hades has illegitimate children but not nearly as much as his brothers; he is arguably the most faithful husband to his wife out of the three brothers, and I like that they have depicted this Hades as a bitter and complicated man who only wants his family to stay together instead of being separated every single year. Seeing Zagreus and Melinoe cry at their mother's departure was heartbreaking, and I bet Demeter has never even met or spared a thot to her grandchildren
Speaking of, I thot Hera was crazy, but Demeter is just as bad, perhaps even worse!
At least Hestia shows far more grace, kindness, and integrity than any of her siblings.

He could, perhaps, have talked it out, both of them could have, but Hades was pushed to the brink already, and Heron was fated to die anyway, so Heron's fate was sealed no matter what.

In a sense, when you think about it, all the three brothers received dominion over an aspect of Earth fairly.
1. As the youngest, Zeus technically received dominion of the worst of the three - the atmosphere. Between solid, liquid and gas, gas is the hardest to control and most chaotic. His job was thus endless, having to constantly control the weather and stop freak storms from wrecking havoc.
2. As the middle kid, Poseidon was meant to receive the reign over the seas either way.
3. As the OLDEST kid, Hades received dominion over the solid, the Lithosphere. From the surface to the core of the planet, his reign extends. Not only does he have authority over uncountable souls of dead, he also owns all the precious gems and minerals - making him the richest of the gods.

We are all just playing it cool and his story here is so sympathetic that you would feel like Zeus is the villain but no hades is the actual villain
Just because of greed and envy
The creators of the show just didn’t want to tell themselves that
@@aminkamara6060he’s the not the most powerful. To me what made him the leader was he was the one who took initiative
@@Black-ICE92and his thunderbilts abd aegis
Zeus deserves to be on trial, but what about Hera? She's the one that unleashed the giants on them again and nearly got everyone killed. If one is damnable, then so is the other.
Also, I haven't seen the new season yet, so I'm a little confused about how Zeus is still alive to be on trial...
She hasn’t died yet also zeus isn’t alive he is basically an undead god now
She’s not dead yet so can’t be tried
I liked this Zeus i hope to see him again next season
To be honest Zeus had this coming
The main issue is Zeus does everything for short term gratification not once considering the consequences
Irresponsible to a T
Hades is arguably the most moral of the 3 main brothers, Poseidon still in this adaptation is someone who take Medusa against her will and do abhorrent thing, and in this show at best he wants order and his seas he has no real high ground he just does things to his own interests and keeps to himself doesn’t bother to help others unless it’s his interests
Hades even when he entered the under world did nothing but be fair and kind
The worse thing he did in this series is demanded Herios brother to kneel even though he knows a what he has Been through initially
And kill herio at the end and Allie with his mother in law
But in all cases it’s due to hades being fatigued with all the pain he has been through and just wants things to end out of depression
It’s just a case Zeus should have ruled the underworld
Hades the heavens Poseidon stays where he is
But I hades would make better laws then Zeus did
I honestly don’t feel at all sorry for him considering all the bullshit. He’s done both in this show and in the mythical stories.
I’m on actually surprised her still spoke up for him, knowing that her husband is a damn cheater and a lot of the drama from mortals was happening because of him, but then again he technically is the goddess of marriage and is the most loyal
The three kings should get their own spin off where they judge random people from history and maybe it could even have characters from other tv shows and movies be judged.
Im a geek for greek mythology and this version has got me reeling! It explores the other sides of the myths and it provides more in depth humanization of the gods thru various circumstances! This show (though there are some iterations from the original myths for the sake of story telling) has not entirely compromised the essence and the spirit of personifying natural and human made occurences that the ancient greek mythmakers might have thought and might have told
2:12 perhaps what kind of BullSh*t is this ?!? Are they gonna tell those people who worship Zeus all his crimes or only the good things, this is manipulative and disgusting they should all be sentenced for crimes against humanity otherwise what the difference between Zeus getting away free compare to an immortal
Not gonna happen especially with the last season.
In my opinion, this show painted all the gods to be morally twisted and are only in it becoming of their selfish interest and silently envy zeus throne
with all due respect, but hera and poseidon saying that zeus deserved to rule because he was a badass during the war doesn't work, let's say that zeus would be a good general ok but just because the guy killed 100 titans doesn't mean he would be a good king, hades would be a thousand times better king, I mean dominating the kingdom with the most population and practically infinite already demonstrates this
Hades has resentment, but I also think disappointment; he was the eldest of the three brothers, yet his youngest brother was named king, then he could only watch as his brothers abused their power and meddled constantly in the lives of females, mortals and nymphs
It’s about time they depicted Hades as not evil.
Or a Conman like his depiction in Disney, but i kinda like that Version though. 😂
I have a theory ! If Hades had in fact kidnapped Persephone to protect her from Poseidon or Ares because he had felt that his beloved was going to be sexually assaulted! Perhaps Hades overheard Poseidon or Ares planning to abused Persephone and decided to take her with him to Hell so she would be safe !
It's sad that I've become too much of a mythology nerd to enjoy a good story.
Indeed, you basically ruined yourself
I wonder if Zeus will return in season 3, if Gods can die it stand to reason they can come back to life.
The judgment was so unfair and he actually deserved the paradise because of his heroic facts and good God being
We need more Hestia.
Hades and pers are the only victims in this series. zeus was a dog who was trying to get a free ride in hell smh. still didn't owe up or apologize to the people lives he destroy, everything bad that happened was zeus and gaia fault the seas of blood from the innocent just to make gods, goddess, heroes, and heroines because of fake prophecies and created monsters for them to fight
Melissa says I do
r these the three judges of underworld minos, aeacus and rhadamanthus?
Hepaehestus can easily craft Hera a new arm. Just ask nicely.
Hepaehestus: "Well, well, well....look WHO comes to the ugly god for help." 😏
When Hera claimed that she had rigged the draw for the greater good, Hades could have replied,
"Greater good? Don't attempt to convince me that your actions were for the greater good sister. I've got over a thousand souls in the underworld who would say otherwise."
Aye, personally he would have been better in the Underworld to have limits to control his behavior
If the gods are being judged then, Hera has boiling place in Tartarus next to Kronos for she was no saint either
She better get to work on redeeming herself straight away or she’ll be begging for mercy she won’t receive.
so tartarus is more like jail than hell
Boa tarde! Se eu não fosse humano e tivesse vindo de um reino de uma outra dimensão, o meu reino seria quase igual a esse desenho mas sem o mal. Apenas a nobresa, honra e beleza existiriam!!!
Hades should've responded with " So you, Hera and you brother Poseidon both rigged the the draw that we all agreed to be fair
And you Zeus, knew that she was manipulating the stone in your favor and didn't withdraw your choice of the stone because you felt it was better for you!. Cheating (Hera) treachery (Poseidon) and greed (Zeus)."
Is this the same studio that brought us castlevania? Because I would be surprised if it weren’t. I might well have to renew my Netflix subscription just to check this out.
That's right, although it is only noticeable in the character design style, the animation is far behind and the story is still in the process of improving
0:02
Hades: Guilty, at all counts. Call in the executioner.
Distant voice: ZOOOOOOOOSSS!!!
Zeus: Oh no, not him again...
Wait, those season 3 mean that Zeus would come back and be like ' im here Typon you twat'
Maybe? Heron is gone now too so maybe they'll send them both back out to fight.
Great series, but i dont like how they depict Hades as detesting the Underworld. In Myth Hades was so intrigued/loved the underworld so much that he was easily able to guide his siblings through Tartarus because its like he became one with the realm.
100%.
Heck people have even called/ referred the underworld as Hades. That is how intertwined both of them were. Growing up learning about Greek myths, it was confusing to hear the god Hades was a person, as even my classmates thought the same. We could separate the name Pluto though and knew that was a being and not the underworld.
@alanguages, are you Greek
@@ΣοφοκληςΒλαχόπουλος-ι9ν Nope, I am not Greek. In Catholic elementary school for some reason we had to learn about Greek mythology. It was a subject to learn creative writing. One part in stories we had mixed up was when others would say things like the land of Hades or in Hades. Hence, we thought the name of the underworld was Hades.
I read Marvel comics and Pluto was a character. I then thought the underworld was Hades, but Pluto was the ruler.
@@alanguages oh because that's exactly how we learned it in Greece
That's why I like the character Hades, who is commonly portrayed in the Hercules and Xena TV series. There he showed his fair side more.
YESSSSSS…I’m on this episode now and I’m glad his ass didn’t get off Scot free. This man has fucked his way across Greece and sown so much chaos and discord the whole way and what BAFFLES ME is Hera rushing to his defense. The second Hades said you dead gonna defend him???!? You know the first stop he made when he died was to the side piece right?
AND HER. FAM, the STRIFE ZEUS PUT YOU THROUGH. IF I DIED AND SAW HIM I WOULD KILL MYSELF ALL OVER AGAIN IM NOT DOING IT AGAIN. NO. I THOUGHT I WAS FREE OF YOU 🤬 NOOOOOOOOOOooooOoooOooooooo
I have learned that Hades was never really the bad guy like I thought he was as a kid just like Zeus isn’t really a good guy. Seeing this feels like proper justice agianst Zeus and a chance for Hades to get back at him.
Typhons gonna be there when he drops the soap
So Zeus doesn't have to do SHIT to get out, someone just has to do enough good deeds "in his name". Fuck, it's THAT easy to get out of Hell?
Because he repented and have acknowledged his sins so hence why it is much easier to get out of hell
@@kevin080592 A lot of people repent. I don't see them walking out the door.
All these flops would still be in daddy's stomach if it wasn't for Zeus 😂
yes, but you can counter it by saying that Metis is the one that supports Zeus all the way, even give him the plan and potion to release his siblings, she is basically the one that make him king, and he repays her by eating her. So yeah, Zeus has positive points but for each good thing he has done, he has done 10 negative ones
nobody is ignoring the good things he has done, but is hard to support someone that do one right and ten wrongs

In all honesty if I was a mortal in this world I will gladly worship Hades. I’m welcome to opinions.
Agree. Hades and Hestia are the only gods in Greek mythology worth worshipping.
0:30 So are we just gonna ignore that Kratos bald ass is tight there? Okay I guess in this anime he didn't kill his father and all of Olympus! 😂
Yes Hades! Tell them!
Zeus is the king of the gods. How is he getting judged by a bunch of randoms?
In God of War 4 Zeus ended up in Helheim after his death
zeus was just a memory of kratos because helheim recalls all the memories of who visit there but correct me if I'm wrong
Hello without Hades Gathering the soul of the Underworld
That's an illusion
If my theory correct Zeus still in Helheim after his death
Its an ilusion of Kratos mind
The series is fine, but this is the most stupid judgement coming out of a trial that I've ever seen
I always thought Zeus was omnipotent but this show nerfed most of the gods its amazing to see them held accountable.
No his not even that powerful in the myths the closest version you get to that is orpheic Zeus
@@orpheemulemo8053 tge orcepic version is just meh. Man
Zeus is not omnipotent. Otherwise, there would have been no Titanomachy, Gigantomachy and fight against Typhon. Along with Zeus afraid of Metis giving birth to his future son, who was destined to overthrow him.
Zeus isn't omnipotent, yes, but him being the top dog is the one thing consistent among the popular myths
The King of Olympus in Tartarus? Sentenced there by the ghosts of his own sons? Just doesn’t sit right - rather strange.
Cronos: First time?
Judges: For your crimes against the countless woman above, your punishment will be spending eternity with the mortal feared by all. The Gluteus Gladiator... Fleece Johnson.
I thought Zeus was dead. Can someone clarify for me please.
He is, this is a trial in the underworld for where he ends up in the afterlife
