Rabbi Tovia Singer demonstrates the Letters of Paul & the Gospels are completely corrupt

  • Rabbi Tovia Singer joins MythVision to answer questions about the Apostle Paul and his influence on the New Testament as well as Christianity throughout history.
Rabbi Tovia Singer is the founder and director of Outreach Judaism, a Jewish counter-missionary organization. It describes itself as "an international organization that responds directly to the issues raised by missionaries and cults, by exploring Judaism in contradistinction to fundamentalist Christianity." Singer cautions regarding congregations that "are designed to appear Jewish, but are actually fundamentalist Christian churches, which use traditional Jewish symbols to lure the most vulnerable of our Jewish people into their ranks." Outreach Judaism was described by J. Gordon Melton in 2002 as an example of "the current state of Jewish counter-cult activity."

the whole argument that Yehoshuwah cannot be the messiah if He is born of a virgin and therefore without a human father, seems to be purely based on the Jewish ideology of Messiah as someone who saves them from HUMAN bondage. Yet the "messiah" that Yehoshuwah is is as the Most High, a savirou, redeemer of the SOUL of man, with a precedent in the story of redemption of Israel from Egyptian bondage but not for the pure reason of getting them out of Egypt, which they loved to be in, having enjoyed the bread and fleshpots of Egypt, but as He said to Moses, purely THAT ISRAEL MAY WORSHIP Him again! So the PURPOSE of getting them out of Egypt was not so much to get them out of physical slavery, which nevertheless typified their SPIRITUAL BONDAGE, but to DELIVER THEM FROM SPRITUAL which Jews tend to overlook completely as though that were not the more important justifcation for redemption even from human BONDAGE which they had PUT THEMSELVES IN. The Aaronic GOLDEN CALF IDOL WORSHIP apostasy shows how far Israel had been removed fromthe worship of their Creator and He needed to bring them out of bondage so that He can RETEACH THEM to REKNOW Him and worship Him and not those idols they were attached to. SO Messiah as the Most High was purely purposed for Israels SPIRITUAL REDEMPTION thats why as in the desert where He built them A TABERNACLE to DWELL WITH THEM, so when He cam in the FLESH, He BUILT a SECOND TABERNACLE-(Rev 1:12-17) in which His WORD(Lawas, statutes, commandments, promises, ) would DWELL among His people and spread to the whole world. In this sense, then MESSIAH would have nothing to do with or little to do with PHYSICAL BIRTH and whether that necessitated a father figure. If the MostHigh came thru two human parents, then humans would have a hard time SEEING Him, because He would be JUST A NOTHER MAN with FATHER AND MOTHER, but WITHOUT Father, He is in MARYS WOMB as one in an INCUBATOR, to PUT ON HUMAN FLESH, not so much to be REPRODUCED of a MALE SEED... because the SEED of the MALE would make Him a HUMAN INDEED, but the WOMB of MARY made Him WHO He is WITHOUT CHANGING His NATURE, since her WOMB was merely AN APARTMENT He rented for w WHILE to PUT ON FLESH...NOT to be the SEED of A MALE-MAN...yet HUMAN in FORM...
"In His IMAGE created He THEM"..."and called THEM Adam[Man=human]" so Yehoshuwah is "SON OF MAN" not the GENDERED MALE but SON OF HUMANS, as a HUMAN...in the same way that ADAM was CREATED A MAN=HUMAN, but had NO FATHER and NO MOTHER either yet A MAN=HUMAN nevertheless, hence the MIRACLE is the NO MOTHER NO FATHER conception and birth. MARY was purely the WOMB as an INCUBATOR where the CREATIVE PROCESS was taking place. ADAM is MAN and HUMAN yet he didnt have a MAN father! so how was he MAN?...its the same with YEHOSHUWAH, and ADAM is the PRECEDENT that the MostHigh can CREATE from NOTHING including from STONES! PROCREATION was A CREATED THING to enable MAN & WOMAN to have a RELATIONSHIP which would be ABSENT could each just have children without needing the other, not that that would not have been a possible path too! There are creatures that DONT NEED tow partners to procreate, so whats NEW about procreation without TWO PARTNERS? ADAM being the first without even two parents-because He who is the CREATOR is NOT LIMITED in how He brings Creation into being, procreation is just ONE WAY of doing it, not the ONLY WAY He can cause creation to Reproduce!

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Yeshua is your Messiah and he was to come before the destruction of the 2nd temple. He was to be our BLOOD ATONEMENT and our HIGH PRIEST.
      Daniel 8:24-26
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

4 The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
5 The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
      DANIEL 7:13-14 (A human)
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

      Isaiah 53
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

Careful. He doesnt know scripture at all.
Jews don't even believe their own scripture that foretells the coming Messiah - if they believed Moses, whom they claimed to have believed, they would know Deuteronomy 18:15-19 foretold Yeshua/Jesus and that ISAIAH 9:6, ISAIAH 53, AND DANIEL 9:24-27 said that Messiah would come to earth as a human, die on the cross for their sins before the destruction of the 2nd temple, and then rise again and return to earth to judge those that killed him and rejected him - They will look upon him whom they pierced ZECHARIAH 12:10 - their BLOOD ATONEMENT Zechariah 9:9-11, ISAIAH 53
Also read ISAIAH 50:3-6 - Its the creator in human flesh speaking of being flogged and having his beard pulled. Still going to believe TOVIA the demonic antichrist? Even Satan can use the internet and work through people like Tovia you know.

What about this for thought. We are all our own saviours. Also.. Messiahs were a dime a dozen back in Jesus time.. If he existed.. Or if he was merely a messenger.. Or just a charlatan. Hell fire.. No.. Not really. This is a Matrix.

Begie....tut tut, the absurdity of your comment. So you are claiming you were born again, implying you had the indwelling of the Spirit of God who explains his word, and convicts his children( born by his Spirit) of the truth.......
......and yet had to rely on someone blinded by the Mosaic law, an enemy of God and his gospel- the gospel of Jesus whom Singer at one point didn't even believe existed for you understanding
      ......keep kidding yourself.

@Flat Sky all unbelievers( whether Orthodox Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Atheist etc) who teach another gospel contrary to what God requires are enemies of his gospel- we know them by their rejection of his Son - who was sent to fulfil the law and the prophets

There is nothing 'alledged' about Jesus.
God sent him, he came, lived in complete obedience to the law and the prophets, was crucified, and rose from the dead.

@@MRFITTA Yes because God, the Holy Spirit and the Jesus story are all myth - nothing real about them at all. I had been programmed (like many Christians) as a child and bought into the entire fantasy. When I read the Bible I couldn’t help but notice the inconsistencies, contradictions and absurdity of it all. Because I have a brain and the ability to reason, these problems bothered me a great deal. Finally, it dawned on me that if god created everything that means he created evil. When he did that, if he was in fact omniscient, then he knew the pain and heartache that would cause. Why would anyone want to worship a god like that? Also, either he is a loving, forgiving god or he is a vengeful, wrathful god - he can’t be both! If you apply reason, knowledge of the history of religions and science - there is no way you could ever be a Christian! Read “The Judeo Christian Myth”, it is illuminating. I suspect you will be celebrating the birth of “Christ” December 25, or any one of another gods born on that date...How about the death and resurrection of Jesus in the spring, or any other of the dying and rising gods resurrected in the spring. The accounts in entire Bible all existed in more ancient religions long before the OT or NT were ever written, edited, plagerized and promoted as “truth.” Open your eyes, man!

    • @timothya.olmeda7299
      @timothya.olmeda7299 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Abraham Mani
      Why?
Because logically, when someone dies believing in something that is not real or true, they remain loyal or fearful of the deity in which they inherited and died knowing, whether they were faithful to their beliefs or not whilst alive.
Only a Christian or someone born into the beliefs of Christendom would fear the character portrayed in the Christian doctrine known as Jesus in the spiritual world. No matter the level of understanding or the level of knowledge that they once possessed.
Therefore if an “evil spirit” is cast away in the name of, in this instance, a Jesus, it’s only because they have heard about the protection in which they have come to understand through many avenues, such as the Christian doctrine, books from other authors, radio, television, movies, internet, entertainment, folklore, etc….
Again, this does not make it true nor divine.
And furthermore, as for healing, any psychological vibe that is heard to be in a positive light, whether true or not, can be healing. Because every known religion in the world (today there are over 4,000) has made the same claims, but that doesn’t make it true nor divine.
Furthermore, there are plenty of fake healers in the world, actors of sorts, hypocrites. Many are finally exposed, or even bribe people, anything to keep Christendom from collapsing onto itself.
The truth of the matter is, healing begins with kind words, not deities; caring and loving-kindness, along with prayers to God alone.
This is what begins the process of healing.
Which comes directly from one source, the God of Israel.

It's the fact that Christianity asserts that the OT is true and then things got changed up and now Christianity is an addendum. Through the lens of the religion itself it is untrue. You don't have to go any further re is There a G-d.
If you disprove the validity of Christianity by showing that it's own basis disproves it, then you knock out the theological leg it's standing on. Incidentally, by disproving Christianity, you also disprove Islam.
Then you can go into disproving the OT.
FYI I researched this since the age of 13 and the existence of G-d seems to be the logical conclusion. I wasn't out for any agenda other than the truth.. I understand we disagree.

And why should you believe/trust in an historians opinions?
Shouldn’t the rabbi (who happens to be from the Tribe of Levi ~a direct descendant of Aaron, the brother of Moses) have an understanding and the knowledge that has been meticulously passed down from generation to generation?
Should anyone question your families ancestral heritage and descendants from days past, which aren’t even identified anywhere in the Sacred Scriptures known to the world as the word of God?
We think/know that a historians knowledge of such things can only go so far as them coming across the evidence on paper, written by men, in which they would need to verify every Jewish person’s tribal lineage affiliation from Abraham onwards, as well as Abraham’s descendants unto the children of Israel, until they find the area and the bones of the patriarchs.
Of course, they will never let that happen, nor should they ever entertain the idea.
Is it really that difficult to understand that the biblical names mentioned in the Jewish Scriptures were actually buried? Just as any human being has been throughout the history of the world? Or that a plot of land was set aside by Abraham for such a thing?
      Talk about illogical.

As a long-since disbeliever in Churchianity/Paulianity, I am surprised that many more religious professionals have not arrived at the same conclusions as the Rabbi; using critical, objective thinking and recent discoveries. The irony is not wasted that so many biblical scholars pride themselves in knowing the ancient languagesof the scriptures ; but blindly accept the scriptures as verbatim true records. There seems to be a huge dichotomy between what Jesus appears to have been and the religion that usurped his teachings.

And God’s plan will unfold as He intends it to and more will be revealed about why things happened the way they did in due time. Look at the history of rebellion of the Jewish people which is basically the entire narrative of the Old Testament! Don’t be a silly hypocrite. God gave man free-will. If people reject the Truth that is their choice. So what you said is an invalid point.

Jesus was born to a virgin (we perform artificial insemination now so why couldnt an intelligent being do that then?). Open your eyes - throughout the entire OT, starting at Genesis, God speaks of this women's seed - a human that would come to earth to defeat satan.
      Isaiah 50:3-6
3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
(NOW... Read ISAIAH 53:12 - The human Messiah gets possession of his creation after he dies as a human).
      Isaiah 53
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

      Twist?!
Is that what you call arguments from scripture with which you don't agree?
Is the book not so open to interpretation that two people can find scripture which backs opposite sides of an issue?
So open to interpretation that the same book is used by multiple denominations to back their truths which differ by denomination?
      Noah ark story...allegory or history?!
Twisting that which comes from that book is a long beloved and well used practice in Christianity.
So, spare me the "Nuh-uh!!! I don't do it. You do it!!!!" comment. Most of us give that silliness up by third grade.

I looked into the Samaritans and I find them a very fascinating people who were quick to become hellenized and were by far the most messianic ferverish of them all. They even joined Alexander's army and had settlements in Greece. The gospels seem to all be very compassionate to them. Jesus was called a Samaritan by the Pharisees to which he did not deny. It makes sense, because JC was so close to Samaria. Plus, the dead sea scrolls match the Samaritan Pentatuach better than the MT. I have utmost respect for Rabbi Singer. Anubis FIRE - You’re welcome, my friend. The whole Nazaret thing and the Bethlehem nativity are myths; but it seems quite plausible that Jesus was from the town of Sephoris in the Galilee or one of the nearby villages, perhaps Magdala or Gamala - at least that’s what I think. One thing is certain: the region was a hotbed of anti-Roman zealotry and rebellion. The tranquil Galilean countryside of the Gospels is a fiction of the highest magnitude invented to conceal the true nature of the Jesus movement and to advance a pro-Roman imperial agenda.

We were all in Darkness, before Jesus ISAIAH 9:1-7 states this. We walked through the "Valley of the Shadow of Death". Prison of Darkness.
We are told by Moses that the seed of a woman (GENESIS 3:15) would defeat satan - darkness. Mary is from the davidic line. Jesus was born to a virgin (we perform artificial insemination now so why couldnt an intelligent being do that then?).
Throughout the entire OT, starting at Genesis, God speaks of this women's seed - a human that would come to earth to defeat satan and rescue us from darkness.
      Isaiah 50:3-6
3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
(NOW... Read ISAIAH 53:12 - The human Messiah gets possession of his creation after he dies as a human).
      Isaiah 53
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

@bhumane8178 Satan wasn't the serpent. G_d told Cain he could do the right thing when he was upset about the sacrifice, and if HE chose not to, sin was at the door, not Satan. If you wish to understand Satan in OT, read Job. Satan works for G_d. Without the test of choice between right and wrong freewill, virtue and righteousness are not possible. G_d created all things, including Satan. He does what G_d created him to do. Again, Job makes this undeniably clear.

We (Jews) have several purposes these served. one of the main things that are said is that G-d in no way shape or form needs them or benefits personally from them. But they are more a ritual vehicle for people to achieve various spiritual goals. But our sages even say it doesn't sit well. The primary purposes in a very over simplified way
      1. A permissible and more humane form of such rituals that were done by humans that is directed and morally constrained away from the barbarism of sacrifices and pagan practices of those days. (FYI all those things are making a mild come back in the new age movement.)
      2. people are very oriented to what they can experience and feel. This gives a tangible act aimed at forging a personal and collective relationship with G-d.
      3. The taking of an animal's life was supposed to be witnessed by the giver of the animal. To experience a life being snuffed out and have a very visual example that says "this should be you." That death you are witnessing could as easily be yours or someone you love. Choose life, live the right way or the consequences of your choices could bring death to you or the others around you. Make good choices. - It's very sobering and doesn't come from a lack of valuing life.
There are more. But it's a sampling. The main thing is intention and self work, or the whole ritual was considered a waste.

Thanks Rabbi. I love listening to you. I am a doctor with an interest in psychiatry. I have studied the life and times of Paul.
Yes, Paul was very likely gay. Jewish rabbis in his day were married men, and Paul was never married. This would explain why deep down he had such poor self esteem, and partly explains why he was such a social misfit.
I think he was narcissistic, anxious, histrionic, had some OCD symptoms, and was overtly manipulative. He was also a self admitted liar.
I think he was in some way allied to the Roman government. Paul had to earn a living, and I suspect he was on the government's payroll. His job was to undermine messianic Judaism. Infiltrating Judaism with obedient tax paying gentiles to create something new did just that. The Roman government knew how to use propaganda to control the people. They were trying to stop a war.

Yet another stunningly educational episode with Rabbi Singer! I have never learned so much in such wonder short bursts of knowledge as I do in these episodes featuring him! In this episode, we learn... as I had not previously known... the Messianic prophecy in 2 Sam Ch 7 vss. 12-17... declaring the Messiah will be a direct (patrilineal) descendant of King David who will (re)build God's house (Temple) and whose kingdom God will establish forever. The historical Yeshua (Jesus) satisfied none of these three criteria: He was not David's son, He did not build a Temple as it was already there, and His "kingdom" was not established forever... much less with all the other attendant features Rabbi Singer points out: Worldwide Peace, weapons of war turned into agricultural implements, etc.
He next provides the scriptural proof that Saul (Paul) was indeed lying about being raised a Pharisee 😯, as well... as clearly revealed in Romans Ch 7 v. 9, in which Saul unwittingly reveals he once lived "apart from the Law (Torah)", something no one raised in a Jewish household, much less as a Pharisee, could ever say! As I always suspected... Saul was a Hellenized Jew... probably as a Roman Pagan... growing up and living in the Hellenized Pagan world of Tarsus, as part of the Roman Diaspora. Later as an adult, it would appear he sought out his Jewish roots, moved to Jerusalem, became zealous for the Law and was thus used by the Jewish High Priests and Sanhedrin as an "enforcer" ... a thug ... against any and all they sought to put down... such as the Christians. This was the REAL Saul ... until his dubious sudden "vision" he can't relate the same way twice yet immediately used to then take over and run the "apostles'" own fledgling new religion right off the rails!
Rabbi Singer next points out the rank hypocrisy of Saul calling Peter a hypocrite (Gal. Ch. 2, v. 11) for choosing to eat a meal with Saul's Gentile proselytes/converts so as not to offend... when Saul, himself, openly and proudly admits pretending to live and practice as a Jew when with Jews while just as enthusiastically living and practicing as a Pagan when with Pagans, as revealed in 1 Cor. Ch. 9 vss. 20-22. Thus by Saul's own admission, he lived the very epitome of a self-serving hypocrite, an ideological chameleon! Hard to believe this disreputable, disagreeable, dishonorable Hellenized man is almost solely, responsible for everything so blindly accepted today worldwide as "God-given" Christianity.
"I don't believe the historical Jesus ever claimed to be the Messiah." I so agree with you, Rabbi Singer. As Rabbi Singer goes on to point out, until the eighth chapter of Mark, no one knows who He is... and Yeshua stops everyone from revealing anything about Him. It isn't until, supposedly, Peter announces Him as the Christ that Yeshua then strangely is said to have replied: "Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you..." (Matthew Ch. 16) which, as Rabbi Singer points out, makes no sense. It was the Tanakh, the given Word of God, that would have plainly revealed to all Jews that Yeshua was the Messiah if He had fulfilled its many prophesied criteria for the Messiah. No "revelation" would have been needed.
As Rabbi Singer goes on to correctly point out... the concept of Yeshua as Messiah/Savior must have been a later view invented after His crucifixion to self-servingly function as the foundation for the "apostles'" new religion. My own view is that the Jewish Messiah concept was concocted by the "apostles" together with His supposedly impending apocalyptic "Second Coming" ... while the whole Universal Savior concept wasn't conceived until later by Saul, whose Gentile audience couldn't have cared less about some Jewish Messiah character.
And as regards Saul's glaringly self-evident emotional and mental issues (e.g., his combativeness, his persecution fixation, his open hypocrisy, his narcissism combined with self-deprecation, his erratic often dangerous behavior, his fanaticism, his misogyny and not being married despite also claiming to be a Pharisee, his seeming love-hate relationship with the Torah and Temple ordinances, his burning need to develop a different path to Salvation that doesn't require any obedience to the Torah), Rabbi Singer hints this might be due to Saul as perhaps being homosexual, which the Torah expressly condemns. It's a fascinating conjecture... and might well explain Saul's original Jewish fanaticism justifying in his mind all the tortures and murders he perpetrated against Christians, as if attempting to justify before God an otherwise-unforgiveable "sin"... and then his anti-Jewish fanaticism resutling in the anti-Jewish polemics filling the Gospels (written by Saul's disciples) and his invention of a NEW religious concept in which NO OBEDIENCE to the Torah is necessary to attain Salvation ("Saved by Grace" alone) that became his founding doctrine... and later became the founding principle of Protestantism and, thus, mainstream Christianity to this day.
All of these are wonderfully well-reasoned and well-evidenced debunkings of very central Christian claims... further evidencing for Christianity as wholly man-made. What I wonder is whether Rabbi Singer is aware of the recent archaeological studies likewise so indicating for his own religion and its scriptures.
In 2022, Yale University published a fascinating book written by a pre-eminent archaeologist: "The Origins of Judaism: An Archaeological-Historical Reappraisal". As per its findings following quite extensive archaeological research looking for the earliest evidences of the practice of the Torah, it would appear the Torah and the religion of Judaism, itself, might actually not predate the Hasmodean Period of about the mid-2nd Century BCE. As the research discovered, there is no evidence for Judaism's practice, specifically the practice of the Torah prior to this time... thus intimating Judaism as a religion does not extend anywhere near as far back as even the historical King David... much less the far earlier and possibly mythological figure of "Moses". So if the Torah was not practiced prior to ca. 150 BCE... then must we not call into question all the claims for the Torah as the Word of God given us at least 1,000 years prior to its actual evidenced first practice in Israel?
Of course, this is not to diminish in the slightest all that Rabbi Singer brings to the table on all these key matters. I have been and always shall remain a huge fan and advocate!

    • @FatherVampire
      @FatherVampire 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@byron9630 ... As seems pretty self-evident in the Book of Acts, it's the "apostles," themselves. As I wrote in the 5th paragraph of my comment:
"... the concept of Yeshua as Messiah/Savior must have been a later view invented after His crucifixion to self-servingly function as the foundation for the 'apostles'' new religion. My own view is that the Jewish Messiah concept was concocted by the "apostles" together with His supposedly impending apocalyptic 'Second Coming' ".
The Gospels make pretty clear and academic scholars generally agree, Jesus never intended to start a new religion (e.g., Jesus never baptized a soul, lived as a devout practicing Jew, frequently told those healed to tell no one, stated repeatedly He was sent "only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel") ... yet a new religion complete with mass baptisms and open proselytizing for new members was established by the "apostles" after Jesus' departure and already active and growing when Saul (Paul) is commissioned to persecute and eradicate it.

Read the Book of James. Tell me what you think? The reason is that James, the half brother of Jesus, disagreed with Paul. James was more Jewish and followed the Sabbath and encouraged them to follow Noahide law (James 2:10-11).

    • @AnHebrewChild
      @AnHebrewChild 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Agreed about Paul & James. It's plain as day.
However, James 2:10-11 is not merely an endorsement of Noahide law but of the Ten Commandments (often furnished as a synecdoche for the entire Torah). 1 John is also contradictory to the Pauline corpus in regard to law. As are Matthew and other books, as no doubt you know.
This would explain the development of "evangelical dispensationalism;" which was and is an attempt to preserve the NT's 27 book canon. In effect this elevated Paul's teachings above the teachings of Jesus and the twelve disciples.
Have you read Eisenman's _James, the brother of Jesus?_ It's 1,000 pages, but chapters can be read in any order depending on particular interest. No scholar has delved deeper on the Paul/James issue as Dr Eisenman.
      Anyway, have a good day.

@@AnHebrewChild Thanks for the response. I honestly have not read his book. I will put his book on my list of books to finish my own project - Book of Revolution. The project I am working on states that the Book of Revelation is a treaty between James' group and Paul's group. You are correct concerning "evangelical dispensationalism", I have presented a whole chapter on my blog concerning the subject. Paul mentions the term which was part of several "predictions" concerning the internal disputes between his group of Gentile Christians and early Jewish-Christians. One was the idea of the "fullness of the Gentiles" which is the slow gradual reduction of the Jewish group and the increase eventual eclipse by the Gentile Christians. The book of Revelation was a treaty and a joint declaration against the Roman empire and its power. It took some time for it to be canonized and St. Augustine was the one who promoted it strongly because he thought the "ten Kings/ten Horns", mentioned in the Book of Revelation, dealt with the events of his era. The book of Revelation was canonized much later than the other NT sources. It had "Jewish" language and content. In my own research, I had found the meaning he was trying to solve in his book - City of God. What's more important is the Jewish-Christians viewpoint was lost over time but preserved in the catholic eucharist. It was lost in the various protestant expressions. In fact, it was the Jewish-Christians group that preserved the Mariology or the importance of Mary in 'Perpetual Virginity of Mary'. Just recently I came up with (Catholic) Cosmism. Which is saying that there are two Earths: Old and New. Genesis 3:24 to me is suggesting the previous that Angels guard the entrance between Old Earth and New Earth. Old Earth where evolution occured and New Earth where a Creator created another Earth/dimension about 7,000 years ago. After Abraham, all events are on Old Earth. The Book of James is a book of the Jewish-Christians group.

@@cristianwaters2190 your book project sounds interesting. I've gone back and forth on my conception of John's Apocalypse / Revelation.
I tend to think, however, that the book does NOT promote a Pauline-centric theology. Besides the denunciation of false apostles to the Ephesians in Rev 2:2, there's also (as you're aware) the command to abstain from meats sacrificed to idols (2:14 & 2:20) as well as the Johannine & Jamesian soreriology of 22:14. Also, we have the condemnation of the Roman church as a false church in 17:9 (see Romans 1:11)
Then we have the insistence of their being TWELVE "Apostles of the Lamb" in 21:14
I'd be curious to hear what is it about "John's Apocalypse" you find to be pro-Pauline. I'll wait for the book, but if you'd like to give a fellow-TH-camr a sneak preview here in the comments.... I wouldn't mind. Cheers
