The New Testament Caught Lying with Rabbi Tovia Singer (Jews Reject Jesus)

  • Rabbi Tovia Singer is the founder and director of Outreach Judaism, a Jewish counter-missionary organization. It describes itself as "an international organization that responds directly to the issues raised by missionaries and cults, by exploring Judaism in contradistinction to fundamentalist Christianity." Singer cautions regarding congregations that "are designed to appear Jewish, but are actually fundamentalist Christian churches, which use traditional Jewish symbols to lure the most vulnerable of our Jewish people into their ranks." Outreach Judaism was described by J. Gordon Melton in 2002 as an example of "the current state of Jewish counter-cult activity."
Rabbi Tovia Singer explains why Jews reject Jesus of the New Testament as the messiah.

Fidus Achates so in your view when a person seeks the truth they become a force of a false deity? Jesus said seek the truth and you will find it. James also said I will show you my faith by my works. Anyone who does good and seeks the truth is validated by the New Testament. This is what Tovia and the host but you say he is of beelzebub?

@Fidus Achates Christians sure like throwing around the word "Satanist" to us Jews.
But that's fine. Projection is a very common psychological malady amongst the Christians.
Plus we'd rather be accused of worshiping Satan, than be accused of worshiping the false, lying, deceiving, illegitimate union of a teenage girl and a ghost that the Christians call their messiah.

Thank you for these talks. I appreciate those who earnestly, honestly and bravely pursue the great questions about religion that need to be concretely answered. I have extensively studied religion; Christianity in particular; and have been blown away by what I have found in my personal research. In a nutshell I have found that religions are nothing more than sophisticated forms of mind control created solely by the ancient elite faction FOR their BENEFIT and the modern elite are continuing to benefit very handsomely as well as the human race continues to support them in the lap of the highest luxury as possible with this form of govern-ment-al (ment=mind) control created by the Romans for the ignorant, gullible and superstitious of which I will admit I was at one time a part! But no longer. I am on to those who seek the money, property and total control of their unsuspecting brothers and sisters with their false and HIGHLY deceptive teachings. For me, if there is a test in life (as the religious claim,) I have passed mine...meaning I am on to these wicked men who put themselves on pedestals and pretend to be something THEY are NOT and never could be. It's hard being red-pilled and you do get pissed like they say...but then truly you are set free. It's worth it.
Ask yourself, how far will men go in order to rule the world? They are capable of pulling absolutley ANYTHING off.

There are othe illuminating rabbis that includes rabbi Singer . Perhaps your video feed is including what came my way a few months ago: Consider listening to Rabbi Manis Friedman along with your other resources.
Rabbi Singer helps me /us engage the Christian that wants to learn why Judaism is scripturally true. But that leaves us hanging - we’ve been deprived for 2000years how Judaism views Everything.
Manis Friedman is a good start. He is a very good communicator. Bear in mind he is always speaking to a Jewish audience, jewishly.
it’s not a conversion outreach ministry
Be prepared to have your mind blown, your world, rocked. Judaism is deep beautiful and sublime. Even his language right down to every penstroke there are meetings to be discovered.

" The son is God,the Holy Spirit is God,the Father is God " but than it goes on to say" the Holyspirit is not the Father, the son is not the father, the son is not the Holyspirit" and it goes on and on so therefore you have three Gods! What you discover may surprise you. Jesus did not talk at all about things we tend to make religion about in politics, when we reduce it to a couple of controversial moral issues. But on the other hand he lived an incredibly political life.
He was amazing in his progressive treatment of women. He confronted the racism of his people against Gentiles and Samaritans. He had a heart for the outcast. He lifted up mission with the poor and impoverished. He taught radical peacemaking, saying “those that live by the sword die by the sword.”
He said that it is what comes out of our mouth, not what goes in, that defiles. He spoke of those who are without sin casting the first stone, calling out judgmentalism for what it is. He affirmed those who are poor, meek, mourning, and weak.
He called people to a whole new world of grace, the kingdom of God, which has embedded in it a vision for justice for all people. He said strange things like “the last shall he first and the first shall be last.” He stood squarely against the accumulation of wealth.
Or are you content with human, divisive labels like liberal and conservative?
I accept neither label because I’d rather just follow the gospel. It’s time that we disentangle divisive political labels from our faith and let the gospel be our guide..

The question that has plagued me for years is, who decided to combined the two disparate ideologies of Judaism and christianity in the same book??? Diametrical opposites in terms of their view of the person of Jesus!?!? Again, why did NOT the Jewish organization rigorously object to the christian usurpation of their scriptures??? It makes NO sense!!! I understand that in order for the upstart nascent christian group to gain acceptance, they needed to be tied to that which was already currently in vogue but am left in disbelief as to why the Jews did not strenuously object to such an affront??? Smacks of some sort of conspiracy or complicity on the part of the Jews!?!? The two philosophies, Jews who completely rejected Jesus as neither prophet nor messiah, juxtaposed to the christian view that Jesus was "son" of "God" and even "God" HIMSELF, combined in one book??? Completely baffling!!!

But importantly, Christianity was born only a few decades before one of the most traumatic events in jewish history, the destruction of Jerusalem and the dispersal of Jews throughout the Roman Empire. The focus wasn’t on some tiny, fringe sect claiming crazy shit about the Tanakh, the focus was on survival and also on how Judaism would have to be reinvented without the temple. How do you keep the ideas of the Jewish religion when the temple cult is gone? That was what was occupying the minds and hearts of Jewish rabbis post in the second century, not a fringe cult that had no cultural impact up to that point.

Only those doors that didn't have the blood were their deaths...of the egyptians. This is part of our Pesach "seder" (which means "order") as we retell the entire Pesach story every year. This dinner, which included the lamb whose blood was smeared on the doorposts and other symbolic items, happend the evening before the Jews left mitzrayim/egypt from bondage into freedom. In Judges we have the story of Jephthah and his daughter Jephthigenia.
Iphigeneia, in Greek mythology, eldest daughter of Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, and his wife Clytemnestra. Her father had to sacrifice her to the goddess Artemis in order that the Achaean fleet, of which he was leader, might be delivered from the calm (or contrary winds) by which Artemis was detaining it at Aulis and proceed on its way to the siege of Troy.
Iphigeneia served as a key figure in certain Greek tragedies: in the Agamemnonof Aeschylus, in the Electra of Sophocles, in Euripides’ unfinished Iphigeneia in Aulis, and in his earlier play Iphigeneia in Tauris, in which she was saved by Artemis, who substituted a hind. Variants of her story are found in later authors. In some localities she was identified with Artemis, and some ancient writers claimed that Iphigeneia was originally the goddess Hecate.

The whole point you are sharing here is not only played out and has nothing to do with the dialogue it has become boring. Its like an Evolutionist and a Creationist debating. BOOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIIING . This is about text. This is about History. This is about insight. This is about study. This is not about whatever happens to occur to you through your intellect. And it is not about someone justifying their behavior upon belief or non belief in God. Most of Derrick's guests are about exploration of text and/or history NOT RELIGION. Many if not most are Atheists. Some are Elite scholars in this area of research. Robert Eisenman, Bart Ehrman, Ralph Ellis Richard Carrier etc etc etc . Wake up and get with the program or go find some drunks or derelicts to celebrate Atheism with. Some jerkoff used to mental masturbation over a couple of beers thinks he can spill into the discussion without knowing something about the material has no place commenting. Just another knob thinking he is smarter than he actually is. Its weird because the word Bible for example becomes a trigger mechanism for Atheist to throw up their hands and start telling you what they don't believe and how stupid this and that is and blah blah blah .I get that but as the blind man sees no frowns the atheist is deaf to the ACTUAL conversation taking place here. It becomes all about them and their anxiety about being preached to. In a way they become worse than evangelical morons. This area of research IS NOT IRRELEVANT and those involved in it as well as up and coming scholars find it interesting, revolutionary and revealing form of intellectual stimulation and exercise. Why don't you use your head? Who can show people how much the Christian scripture and position has deviated from the Jewish scripture it CLAIMS to have stemmed from more than Tovia Singer? How could that not be an important tool in showing people yet another reason that what they believe is faulty? What the hell are you going to turn around and say? Its not your intention to point this folly out to Christians? Bulls##t . You wouldn't have commented if that were the case. P.S. The six nights are the six months from the fall equinox - spring equnox. Genesis one is not a one time event, it is repeated every year. The building of Solomon's temple to the sun is nothing more than April - October. It is destroyed every year and this is nothing more than moving from summer to winter. Well, I would think the thing about muzzling the oxen works both ways, because it's like this:
In taking the same theme or principle from not muzzling oxen while it's treading the grain, you can also apply that to Christians. So, if God wants you to not deprive animals while they work for men, why would God want to deprive men while they work for God? You know what I mean? And sure, God does care about animals, but doesn't He care more about people? I thought that He conveys this throughout the Bible. After all, He permits the sacrificing of animals, but does He permit the sacrificing of humans? Of course not! :)
This is what I meant in the comment on the Aron Ra video about how they draw certain principles and themes out of OT passages and then puts them into a different context. It's not like they think that the OT context doesn't exist, but that there's something to be "gleaned", I guess you could say, from it.
If Paul means to say that the OT passage didn't apply at all, then he's wrong; but he does use what's going on, because he says that it would be hindering the work of God for them to be deprived, and that's the idea with the oxen not being able to eat: they're not going to be inclined nor energized to finish the work.

As Prof. Bart Ehrman notes: "There is no reason to think that Paul wrote Hebrews, but it was eventually included in the canon by church fathers who argued that it was Paul’s. In fact, the writing style is completely different from Paul’s; the leading themes of the letter are absent from Paul’s other letters, and the mode of argumentation is not at all like his. And why should one think Paul wrote it? Unlike his own writings, this book is anonymous."

We should say “it is written that Jesus said” or “the author of the gospel of John says.” That way, in our speech, we make it clear to all that neither we nor anyone else knows if Jesus said this or that. Or even if the apostles existed as described in these books and letters. For what it’s worth I personally believe the entirety of the NT is fiction. @@judahmaccabee9148 *Paul's Contradictions of Jesus*
Here is a list of the major contradictions by Paul of things Jesus taught:
      www.jesuswordsonly.com/books/175-pauls-contradictions-of-jesus.html
      *Paul Versus the Disciples*
It is a common misconception amongst Christians that Paul and the Apostles of Christ were unanimous in their preaching of a crucified Jesus. Christians think that the apostles and Paul were preaching the same doctrine and everyone believed in the divine Jesus who came to be crucified for the sins of the world. However, if one examines the bible carefully, that person would observe that Paul and the disciples were not preaching the same doctrine and did not believe in the same Jesus.
The Apostles in Jerusalem heard that Paul has been preaching a different doctrine in Galatia and Corinthia. Paul was telling them not to follow the law anymore and that they don’t have to eat kosher meat anymore or to be circumcised (according to Genesis 17::14, the covenant is broken if there is no circumcision) etc. So the Apostles went to Galatia and Corinthia and convinced everyone that Paul is wrong, when Paul heard about this he went straight back to the cities………
      *Galatians 1:6*
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a *different gospel*
*It says different Gospel, so obviously the disciples were teaching them a different doctrine and and it was not just minor issues*
      *Galatians **2:11**-21*
      *Paul Opposes Peter*
11When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. 12Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. ( *why did people such as the Apostle James still believe that the law regarding food should still be applied? If Jesus came to replace the law, then why are they still following the law?* ) 13The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. ( *so, Peter, James and Barnabas are wrong?* )
14When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?
15"We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners' 16know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. ( *why are they arguing over following the law or not? Why are they not in agreement of doctrine?* )
17"If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. 19For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"
*Paul condemns all Jewish Christians including Peter and Barnabas. We only have Paul’s side of the story but Peter’s recollection of this story is not given to us in the New Testament*
*Peter truly would have known Jesus better than Paul. There is dispute whether 1 Peter is a letter written by Peter and almost all scholars, ancient and modern agree that 2 Peter is not a letter written by Peter*
      *Acts **4:31*
31After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
*If Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit then why is Paul calling Peter a hypocrite for eating with the Gentiles and then when people came from James he got up. James is Jesus’ half brother, he lived and stayed with Jesus. Why did he still think that people have to eat kosher meat? We don’t have any account of Peter’s story regarding this incident. Barnabas is also called a hypocrite in verse 13. Look how in verses 15 thought 17 Paul is arguing with them about the law. That means the disciples wanted to follow the law and suggested following it. Otherwise Paul wouldn’t have mentioned it. How could he say those things to Peter and look what Jesus said about Peter*
      Matthew 16:18
8And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
*Paul said in Romans that all food is clean*
      Romans 14:20
20Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.
*In the Book of Acts the Apostles wrote a letter to the gentiles to abstain from certain foods and that not all foods were declared clean*
      *Acts **15:29*
29You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.
      *Galatians 3:1-3*
1You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? 3Are you so foolish?
*Obviously we have people that are disagreeing with him. If Jesus taught that the law is over clearly, then people would not be arguing over this*
      *2 Corinthians 11:4-5*
4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. 5But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super-apostles."
*This is all doctrine and again he is criticizing the disciples*
      2 Corinthians 11: 22-24
What anyone else dares to boast about-I am speaking as a fool-I also dare to boast about. 22Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham's descendants? So am I. 23Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one.
*Again he is comparing himself to the disciples. If this man were truly doing all this work for God, he would not be complaining about his pain and torturing and suffering. If he is truly sincere he would not have mentioned those things. Prophets and messengers never complained and boasted about their sufferings*
      *Conclusion*
So it is clear from the Bible it self that not everyone believed in the Jesus who came to get crucified for the sins of the world and to replace the law. That there were different amongst the Apostles and Paul. The Apostles stuck to the true teachings of Jesus, which was upholding the law and that the Apostles who lived with Jesus know him better than Paul who never even saw Jesus except in a "vision".

Derek Lambert, Tanakh is basically the OT. Torah is instruction/law and refers to the first 5 books only.

They sometimes sat they learn Latin and Greek because it helps with English words derived from Latin and Greek - but they could just teach the Latin and Greek roots to do that.

Well that was interesting, and really went some way to explain why I've always found the pagan elements of Christianity far more appealing than the Jewish background. As to the early NT writers misusing earlier writings, surely the OT writers were doing the same by borrowing from earlier mythology?

Yes. This is almost certainly true. If you are so inclined, look into the Samaritan religion. It's very very very similar to Judaism. It's as if both used the same text but interpreted a little differently or modified it a little differently.

It doesn’t bother those involved in Judaism that the Elohim were plural and in Jeremiah they were worshipping the Queen of Heaven like the Catholics and are actually polytheistic because they lie to themselves to say they are monotheistic.

Look what Isaiah wrote John 12:37-41 KJV
[37] But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: [38] That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? [39] Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, [40] He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. [41] These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

Hate speech law in Canada specifically allows "hate speech" if it is a sincere religious belief.

I must respectfully correct the rabbi's statement... In Jeremiah 38:32, in the Septuagint, it does not say that God "rejected them". The verse says: 32. not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took hold of their hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; for they abode not in my covenant, and I disregarded them, saith the Lord.
    33. For this is my covenant which I will make with the house of Israel; after those days, saith the Lord, I will surely put my laws into their mind, and write them on their hearts; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.
So as we can see, not only does it not say "rejected" but verse 33 continues on to tell a future prophecy for Israel returning to the land that was given to their forefathers.
If we look at the definition for the word "disregard" in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, we will find: "to pay no attention to : treat as unworthy of regard or notice". Which in this case is true due to the disobedience of Israel. And it is established in verse 33 that Israel will return. It is in agreeance within itself and NOT the forged New Testament.

I was a Christian for 50 years. A student of the word, but only used those books that were ‘approved’ by Christians for Christians as references. It was when I Brock out of that box and began using all study aids available that my eyes were opened to the TRUE truth.

One of the problems with Christianity is that most sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen type sermons resemble improved Tony Robbins motivational type lectures on how to be successful in life or resemble get rich quick schemes.
Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament as Joel Osteen type sermons support Christianity’s adulterous & idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success.
The reason the Old Testament or Tanakh is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame.
The big question is about whether or not Christians should be worried in the least.
The answer is found in Isaiah 27:1 with the Leviathan representing Christianity. G - - always lives up to His promises. Of course, you would only know this fact if you have read the Old Testament. Another thing to consider if you are well read in the Tanakh is that the Levites lived on tithes in exchange for teaching G - -‘s word to the populace. Not long after the prophet Joshua died, the Levi group of priests much like Joel Osteen began teaching the populace more about what they felt the populace wanted to hear with the motivation largely being to get the biggest donations. Once Jews re-instituted idol worship & turned away from worshipping G - -, G - - had approximately 95% of the Jewish population massacred first by the Assyrian army and then by the Babylonian army. Only a small remnant of Jews survived. G - -‘s punishment for the Jews was considerably worse than what happened to Jews in World War II in terms of percentage of the population massacred. And G - - considered Jews His children. So if you think Christians will somehow escape G - -‘s wrath from idolatrous Joel Osteen type preaching, then think again as G - - doesn’t have the same type of relationship with Christians due to Christian worship of JC as their savior. Isaiah 27:1 will eventually prevail, and G - - will very likely not spare even a single Christian artery or vein.
Additionally, the Christian version of the Old Testament has been severely altered and is not usable. Go to Sefaria.org or Chabad.org to get an unaltered free online version.
Additionally, what does the Tanakh or history of the human race say about false prophets/ preachers who lead their sheep-like followers astray for massive financial gain? Well, it never, ever ends well. For example, mega-preacher Gwen Shamblin Lara who instead of teaching Tanakh based scripture, tried to get Christians to lose weight through nutrition. Gwen Shamblin Lara perished at a very young age in a plane crash along with her husband and 5 other church leaders. And the list of Christian-type totaL disasters goes on.
