Man. I love how unique the screams are in this game. Each one sounds so real and terrifying. I also love how after a scream you can heart a volatile as if someone just came in contact with one. Absolutely amazing.

It always creeps me out when you hear someone screaming in the background from far away. I think "Jesus" and I always look around with hope if I see the one who's screaming to at least help him/her but you don't see nobody.
Those screams mean that their generator had run out of gas or batteries to power the UV lights
Wait... you saying me that they really depend kn those generators? The only thing that keeps monsters and humans far from each other are those lights?
@@kairoward7738 That’s correct. The UV lights are what keep the special infected at bay. Bases with a working generator become safe zones during the night and when dawn draws near, special infected like volatiles, virals, howlers, etc. run back into the dark zones.
@@Andrea92_91 My LORD i thought they could hide in a stronghold base or something like that, or pass the night hiden on a quiet base but now i see that is impossible 🥶🥶🤯🤯
@@kairoward7738Sorry for the late reply 😅. They can hide, but only for a short amount of time. Sunlight and UV lamps are what keep infected people from turning. If an individual stays in the dark for too long, the virus in their body will spread and they will turn.

Most things you can hear are screams which is obvious thanks to someone in the comments who is a smartass, volatile screams, loud banging, viral screams, and chirping

I still can't understand the hatred for DL2. Sure, A LOT has changed, but the atmosphere? Insanely good.
atmosphere is one of the worst parts of it but sure go on
Its sounds scary as hell, survivors are getting killed by mutated creatures. But I actually prefer night in dl1 cuz of darkness and scare from volatile. Night in dl2 is alot more lighter
Nothing about 2 is better than 1. Especially now that 1 has a 60fps mode.

Dying Light 1 safe houses (most) felt safe and peaceful. Dying Light 2 are a bit weird. Mosquitos will kill your faster

I don’t know if I’d call it a better overall game but I do know that I had much more fun exploring the map and it was a lot of fun concerning myself with what options I chose (even though the actual differences in narrative were inconsequential most of the time) they’re just different in my eyes. Both great and fun times all the same. I mean Crane to me seemed like a much stronger protagonist but Aiden was aighttttt. Idk I love these games what can I say?

To be fair, virals and volatiles feel the same way about day time sounds as we feel about night soundscape.
Can you imagine how terrified they must be of the chirping of birds, the melodious horns, the sound of drums and the marching foot steps?
These sounds are gone in the new update, I don't know if my game is bugged but there's almost no more night time ambience :( Or its because most of the safehouse have been opened meaning less people are dying
My dreams are so much more interesting when I listen to stuff with my headphones on

I think this alone just shows how unbeatable the atmosphere from the first game was, this isn’t bad but it’s so weak compared to the first game.

I listened to this 3 times or more, and it's relaxing for me when i'm drawing... And this is supposed to be creepy or scary, but i saw worst things (including people killed by the Organized Delinquency in social media) than listening to survivors being eaten by infected.

Synths, they had a lot of these at night in the first one, I'm glad they didn't fully remove them

Unrelated but i love the design of the environment. The top of the roof is so full of greenery, it represent relative safety while street just below is just hell.
The only way this would be better is if once and awhile you heard gun shots in the background!
Yes, only according to the lore in this part of the game, people do not have firearms. One of the stupid ideas that annoys me.
Although, I think it would be possible to add distant shots over the sound. On that moment, I didn't think about it.

Honestly, in the first game, the ambience was much more frightening, especially when it was rainy with a downpour. To bad they don't add rain weather here.
