Gambit was my fav male X-Man, as a kid watching the old cartoons. It's sad that Gambit has as much potential, but it's hardly ever realized. Given his extended life span & all the people he's encountered over the years, Gambit should have as many storylines as Logan. Well, hopefully the MCU does him justice & Gambit's popularity soars where it should be.
not to have a nerd moment but, gambit with all of his power is for sure an omega level mutant. This man at full power can shift himself through time, ride dimensional energy from the m'kran crystal to other realities, and in single combat kill both apocalypse and a fully empowered by the phoenix force jean grey. in most universes with his full power an no training, he accidentally incinerates all life(water, plants, animals, people, everything) on the planet. With his full powers he can fly, survive being stab since he can convert things to kinetic energy (as shown when his alternate self New Sun put the hit contract on him an he was stabbed in the heart with a foot long dagger) gains the ability to charge anything just by looking at it (as shown when he uses it on mystique) as well as the fact that even without his full power its confirmed that his internal kinetic energy creates enough interference to boost his strength, speed, dex, reflexes, thinking speed, the ability to block out the most powerful telepaths on the planet (jean, psylocke, and even xavier) and he can instead of releasing the charge to cause explosions he can also use his power to speed the items he throws up. Come on...the man is damn impressive.
Gambit!!! He has been my favorite since I watched the cartoon in the 90s. He has been the 2nd most popular X-Men ever (only behind Wolverine) and it is a travesty that they never put him in the movies properly. And being a sideline character in the Wolverine movie does not count. I waited patiently during each X-Men movie to see Gambit portrayed properly. 20 years later and we are still waiting to see Gambit get his own movie on the big screen. And yes, we are waiting to see Gambit and Rogue together (please not the Anna Paquin version)!

I actually did not know that gambit was blinded at one time. I myself have a vision problem and when I was little, I used to pretend that my cane was a bow staff and I was gambit. So that’s a little bit of cool info.
He is coolest because he never wanted to misuse his powers that's why the redemption arc of joining the xmen he was raised with thieves that itself was a hard growing up and overall I prefer the cartoon ones rather than the cinematic ones, they were nearly perfect representation of the character😉

Gambit is by far the most fascinating of all mutant, and he has strong sense of humility, along with courage that surpasses any hero in any universe DC, or Marvel. His wit is uncanny, guess that's why it's a no brainer, that he's a X-Men.
Gambit was my favorite xmen in the animated series. I remember getting up early on the weekends in the 90s and watching transformers and then xmen. I liked how gambit could grab anything and turn it into a bomb
Gambit and beast are by far my favorite xmen. Gambit is just so suave and debonair. I loved the moment in the 90s cartoon where you see him in a shop flirting with the cashier while buying an like 50 packs of playing cards when a sentinel attacks and he's like oh shit I gotta go Also when he's breaking into a museum in I think it was the new class he does a happy face on the window to break it then Lays down a charged card that the guard who's playing solitare needs and after it goes off picks dude up with his staff and puts him in a closer. I knew a lot about gambit but I didn't know he had enhanced strength but it makes sense due to the nature of his mutation I just thought he was a very skilled fighter
I wish there was a way to get all of these comic books, where I could read them either in braille or audio form. You miss a lot of really good material when you cannot read the comic books. Yes, there are novels but, that doesn’t even cover half the material you miss when you cannot read the comic books.
I'll always prefer Claremont's original Gambit origin of him being a clone body made for Sinister using Cyclops DNA to all the extra nonsense they came up with once Claremont left
I've imagined a twist on that concept, with Havok being the clone Sinister created, in partnership with Davan Shakari, using Cyclops and Adam X DNA, and Gambit being the true Alex Summers. It would explain Havok's mental instabilities, similar to Madelyn Prior, and possibly even their attraction to one another.
I don't get that appeal and why does everything have to be connected to the Summers family???? The Marvel Universe should not be that small, just let Gambit be his own character with no ties to anyone, being a clone / fake would not add anything to his character. These OMG moments that has taken over fiction in all media has become too much these days...
Loved Taylors Gambit in the Wolverine movie, wish they would let him keep playing Gambit in future movies. I don't care much to see Channing Tatem as Gambit but maybe he all the sudden becomes likeable in that role.
Compared to many cities who have comic characters, per capita, New Orleans has a larger number of cool characters. It's unique history must be the reason because within the region there are a handful of international cities, but none have as many characters/cool characters as N.O.; some of them have no characters at all.
He was a mega star in the classic animation and comic s. The films have really let him and his fans down. Perhaps too much Wolverine and not enough of the other iconic mutant characters
I’m glad Disney didn’t put out a weak PG-13 mediocre Gambit movie I’d rather see marvel handle this character just like they did Deadpool because he’s one of my all time favorite X-MEN
Actually Gambit is Omega level but as a teen had Sinister reduce it by removing part of his brain stem to a more controllable level. However there is an issue where Gambit time travels to the 19th Century (I think) and a young Sinister restores the part he took. Also it always bothers me that they never depict that Gambit can touch Rogue in the cartoons. He does so in the comics on many occasions sending kinetic energy across the surface of his skin like static to disrupt her power.
It was a huge relief when I heard that Tatum's Gambit project was tossed. What he wanted to do would have trashed the character and film. Also, he said Gambit was into fashion and wore whatever he wanted! 😂 He's been wearing that same gear for like ever.
