    Steam deck OLED is the right answer especially when you can emulate games with emudeck

  • @dorrelredmond

    I have the original LCD steam deck and an OLED switch too. I find myself grabbing the steam deck a bit more between the two, but mostly because I own more games on there, since I've been PC gaming for a long time now (I have a roughly 300 game Steam library 😆) and I just don't have as many things on the Switch. I do occasionally get that itch for the Nintendo exclusives though, so I love having the Switch on hand for those games! Not to mention, the battery life on the Switch is soooo much better than the Steam Deck lol.

      @ElaByte  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree! As for battery life, it depends on what game I play, either on the Switch or Steam Deck. Stardew Valley is pretty light to run and consumes less power than higher graphics games on both systems. Maybe the Steam Deck is a little bit better for me in that regard. Thank you so much for watching! 😊

    Love your review. You’re one of the few people that actually talk about the Switch needing a subscription to play online. I don’t have a switch or steam deck. Just PlayStation. I plan on getting the Switch 2 next year. Not sure if I’ll get a steam deck, but not paying for online and inexpensive games are attractive

    The steamdeck is nice with some good deals you can find its librarby with more variety of games....but i argue with one best things about the switch, switch oled, and switch lite is that unlike the steamdeck you can least get physical copies with it, not just pure digitial.

    Easy answer.... SWITCH. Cause it's a slow game you don't want to be holding in ur hands all the time. You can take the damn joycons off and play relaxed with them in ur lap or by ur side.

    Ya nintendo is expensive literally...
    I bought once a PREPAID CARD code for nintendo switch online and then after 3 months they extended it automatically and took the money from my nintendo account where i had money to buy gaymes. Ofc no refund... Even if this is few "dollars" i bet there tons of ppl who had that and this is the way they make money

    Nice video. My favorite is the Switch Lite. The screen being a little smaller makes games look and run better. Sound is not as good but using earbuds it sound great. Its a true handheld. I don't feel Switch oled, Steam deck and Rog Ally are. I know the windows handhelds are a lot more trouble than Switch and the battery dies fast.

    Its not even close, Steam Deck is far better. Better library of games and can do emulation (to the degree that arguably makes the Switch useless). Only reason to get Switch is if you exclusively prefer to play the latest Nintendo games.

    Do you think its worth it to buy switch lite in 2024?

    • @dorrelredmond
      @dorrelredmond 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you're buying for a kid, especially a younger one, then the Lite is arguably the best choice. If you're buying for yourself as an adult or teenager, then it really just depends on whether or not you want to play the Switch docked at any point and what your budget is like as the Lite is going to be the cheapest model. If you only care about handheld gaming and don't want to swap out the joycons, then by all means, the Switch lite is still a perfectly viable console, regardless of age. The internal hardware is pretty much the same between the Lite, Regular, and OLED models as well, so no matter which you get, you can play everything just the same. It's the overall dimensions, screen size, color accuracy (OLED has the best and the others are the same), and battery life that you'll notice changing.

    Why are you saying the Switch has more games than the Deck? Do you not know that Steam has more games than all major consoles ever released put together? Lol. Also, the Steam Deck is a PC, not a console. It functions as a console out of the box, but it’s still a PC running PC games through Steam. The OLED Steam Deck has a screen almost identical to the Nintendo Switch OLED. It’s even speculated, though there is no definitive evidence, that the Steam Deck OLED and Nintendo Switch OLED screens come from the same manufacturer. You can also emulate the Nintendo Switch on the Steam Deck, which kind of makes the Switch obsolete.

    • @ElaByte
      @ElaByte  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@SexManNordin never said the switch has more games than the deck so not sure where you got that from . I said the switch has some original Nintendo games which you can’t play on the steam deck. The steam deck is A PORTABLE CONSOLE. It’s like a pc but it’s a console. And I know you can emulate Nintendo switch games but that’s not the point. Also chill dude it’s not that serious. That was my opinion.

    • @dorrelredmond
      @dorrelredmond 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      If you want to be technical, sure, the Steam Deck is a handheld PC that gives a console-like experience. At the end of the day though, it's BOTH a PC and a Portable Console. That's why it has a desktop mode for regular PC use and a Gaming Mode (what you get out of the box) for the portable console use.
      The Switch isn't really obsolete either. While you CAN emulate switch games on the steam deck, they don't always run well and require more tinkering than is worth it for most people to make them run well. What people want is convenience and ease of use. Emulation in general is anything but convenient, especially when attempting to emulate modern titles like those from the Nintendo Switch. There is also the legal matters of the only legal way to obtain the files to even emulate the Switch games is to dump your own games, which requires having a modded switch, which is a hassle to do, has a chance of bricking your device, and you would need to buy a switch and the games on it anyways just to play them on a different device. Even if you get the games by searching for them online, there still is no guarantees that it's a legitimate game and you have to trust that wherever you're downloading them from isn't going to give you malware. That's a lot of work, whether you go the legit route or not if all you want to do is play games and don't want to tinker with the devices. That all means the Switch still has its place for people that want an easy-to-use system to play modern Nintendo games and is far from being obsolete.
