    I’ve never liked how the Empire spent so much time and resources training top-of-the-line, highly skilled pilots who could hold their own in a dogfight against equally skilled pilots, yet put them in the death trap that was the standard TIE Fighter.
    Imagine how much better everything could’ve been for the starfighter corps if Palps spent less time spending money on the second Death Star and took Thrawn’s advice in spending that money on more TIE Defenders or Interceptors. Many capable pilots with high potential had their skills gymped by such fighters.

      Maybe if the head officer of the tie defender and advanced projects, admiral Zaarin, wasnt a traitor. One of the problems the super advanced imperial starfighters had is some of the most important personal behind them ended up being traitors...

    A very interesting video, particularly that a fighter pilot's life expectancy was very limited. I also liked the comparison of ranks pre and post Yavin.

      @ilikepigeons6101 Thanks, my friend 👍 l am still hanging in there with my content despite the Star Wars decline in interest. I have resorted to Legends material again recently, as l was disappointed with the Ashoka series. It almost felt like the series wasn't needed as Ashoka is a fairly minor canon character. They should have simply started with Thrawn is back and created a flashback for how he returned....or something.

    • @ImperialsExplainedStarWars
      @ImperialsExplainedStarWars  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I realized during the making of this video that the Starfighter Corp rank plaques on King Doran's chart are incorrect placed under the wrong branch and, in fact, are part of the aligned to the Stormtrooper Corp officer uniform. For example, Praji and Childsen from A New Hope.
      It says in Star Wars Lore that the Starfighter Corp ranks were aligned to the Navy line plaques.

      @@stefano1895 It looks to me very much to be the case. I had a sneaky suspicion they were Stormtrooper ranks until I actually researched it further.
