TOTAL CHARGING COSTs th-cam.com/video/kDS0jng_tyk/w-d-xo.html
All those stops... Hell no. I have done the drive from SoCal to SATX many times, and vice versa. I would die if I had to stop that much.
How quick can you do it
this is not a road trip. this is a charge trip. 😅
frfrfr - have you driven it?
Well said!
Just drive to charge
get in kids, new charger location just opened.
Lmfao
So you drove a 14hr trip in 24hrs. Much fun
Very progressive
Honestly this made me realize I never want an EV- 25-40in per fill up and often?? No thanks
is it as fast as 14?
From Austin, tx to anywhere in California ain't no damn 14 hrs. 😂
14 hours?! maybe if you go 100mph ish, not saying you dont go that fast but id say thats an unreasonable speed ...for me at least but i do agree 25 hours is unreasonable as well, and id say i would rather drive a normal car 100mph then stop 15 times for 20mins per 100 miles x.x.. i hope the ev tech evolves into something better
Under 19 hours is realistic in an ICE.
The charging (and range) is absolutely brutal, lol.
How so
They are driving fast ~80 miles an hour
@@DennisCW 40 minute stops every 2hrs lol. Even a model 3 rwd can do better than that.
@@Greenspaceservicesyet that's slow for texas
@@DennisCW Why did you drive with the cover open on the bed?
Would help range a lot to have it closed.
You gotta grind the battery down to 5-10% if you want a faster roadtrip. Been doing Tesla driving since 2014 and you can go faster to bring it down lower. Makes a big difference. I’m jealous that you have yours already.
how low have you gone?
And charge higher, especially for a road trip.....90% if possible
@@DennisCW0%
Many times
@@DennisCW I usually try for 5% or so.
Even with that this car is a slow right now, I shoot for 5% also but have seen over 1000mph vs 500 for this.
Seems like it’s a nightmare to road-trip.
Very informative realistic charging effort. It’s too much of a grind!
I did this drive last year. I have a 2017 Toyota Prius. I got 390-415 miles per tank. I filled up no more than 4 times. I have a 11.3 gallon tank, and I paid an average $3/gal, about $37/tank. Hybrid’s just make much more sense, than going full electric to me. More efficient, cheaper, more practical. The cyber truck is a very cool truck. Just not for roadtrips.
Sorry, there is nothing cool about it.
I agree 100%!
Agreed, but a Prius is not a truck. That said, a Prius would have been suitable for this trip.
@@GregMcNamer no electric car is suitable for this trip. None of these get the advertised range. A hybrid truck would still be betters
@@icecold8974 that I disagree with. A Model 3 or S would make this trip with a few less stops and they'd be 10-20 minutes. It's not as fast as ICE but probably an hour or 2 difference and a comparable cost ($0.10/mi).
Having to stop to charge every 2-3 hours is absolutely brutal. When I am in road trip mode I like to put in as many miles as possible or stop for cool attractions along the way. Not stop at a charging station multiple times a day. I am so disappointed in the range. I know that Elon and a bunch of TH-cam Tesla fanboys always say that you need to stop every few hours for a restroom break and something to eat anyway, but I usually just pull off on a dirt road and take a piss and always bring a cooler with drinks and food when I do road trip. This is a huge let down. Not to mention I live in Canada so any winter road trips will be very tough indeed as I can probably only expect to get 150-180 miles of range when it is -30 Celsius. I have a Cybertruck on reservation, but it just will not be practical for me at all. Also not enough charging stations in certain parts of the Country so the range on this would limit where I can travel. I should mention that I am a Tesla shareholder so this is an honest opinion from a shareholder and fan of the company.
For the price of that truck and stopping so many times for charging is unacceptable I thought it got better range than that
how often do you stop?
This is why I actually think a gasoline range extender is appropriate right now for EV trucks, at least until the battery energy density gets to 2x what it is now (at the same price and weight).
A 15 gallon tank and small generator could probably fit in the frunk and it would give it way more range.
@@DennisCW I will usually go 6 or more hours without stopping other than a piss break on the side of the road or like I said a stop for a waterfall or some other attraction. But I don't want to be stopping at a charger instead of stopping at those attractions and fitting in both stops will just lengthen the road trip considerably. It really is unfortunate. I wanted to love this truck, but the range is a killer and that range extender that sits in the bed is not practical. I like using my trucks to haul stuff in the bed a few times a year and that range extender is not easily removable. The originally touted 500+ miles for the tri-motor is what intrigued me. I know Teslas never get their EPA estimated range on highway drives so I was thinking it is probably a realistic 400 miles or 250 miles during winter. I could have dealt with that. I just think it is a huge missed opportunity to not have a variation with greater range. Like I said the range extender in the bed is not practical for anyone who wants to actually use the truck as a truck. Lots of people use their truck to tow as well as carry stuff in the bed. It is not one or the other for lots of people. My hope is that they improve the battery cells over time and can get the range up to at least 400 miles.
Classy.
Man, on your filter you should have selected only 250KW as primary chargers, there were two in El Paso, TX actual one was just across from your 150KW charger, this could be a long trip back using so many 150KW chargers
good TIP!
He hit all the V2 chargers and drove 80mph
no you should buy a car with a gasoline engine, like a normal person and say no to Government regulations that will only make liberal elites and their friends richer.
The cement wheel stops are there for you to back up and know when to stop? Even in my model 3 if i dont do that its iffy..
If you charge to 80%, but only use it till ~15%, that means you gave yourselves access to only 60% of the battery power each lap. You also spent at least 30 mins per stop. That means a lot of time was wasted during stops. It will only be beneficial if I had to do diaper changes for babies, and feed them on a schedule, etc… 😅 As a single guy or childless couple, it would suck, especially if driving through Canada. The CT is not a practical truck…yet.
Please do a video doing the same trip while towing a loaded bass boat.
Lmaooooo
I guess, he would get REKKKKTT
47 stops. Took 18 days
"I'm gonna keep it under 80 mph to see if that helps." And with the bed open. Yet successful enough to afford a CT. The world is an amazing place.
So let's get this right, a trip that would normally be around 18 hours, took you 25 hours with all the charging involved. Jeez!
Charging that much added 7 hours??? How is that enjoyable?
basicalllyyyy - it was painful
My god man, kudos to you. The battery management software and the Tesla chargers need to be upgraded ASAP for faster charging on the CT!
@@shervin2 100% but how much can they really upgrade without damaging the battery….there are limits…the range extender should have been part of this equation
@@thehonesttruth8808are you saying superchargers hurt the battery life of an ev? In a perfect world what would be the best plan for charging an ev? Does home charging hurt the battery?
This is progress😂😂
You had the tonneau cover open it seems which reduces efficiency so much
yea, we learned quickly haha -
That's only way to use the rear view mirror.
you sound like elon, "educes efficiency so much"
Road tripping in a Model Y LR adds about 20% to the total time but FSD makes this okay as you don't get that tired driving. The CT is adding ~40% to total travel the time which is outrageous. I need to re-think my reservation as this is a non starter and we haven't even seen what towing is like.
will you keep your MY?
@@DennisCWKeeping the Model Y was always part of the plan but now I need to see if we can shrink our RV to something the Model X can tow. Hopefully this is all fixable with an OTA update once Tesla has enough real world data on the 4680s to improve the charging curve but this is disappointing.
I'm in a similar camp as you Tom. I have already confirmed my CT FS AWD and might cancel altogether. I too own a Model Y LR and was going to add the CT for hauling my 25' Airstream replacing my GMC Sierra 1500. I have thought about something other than the numerous charging trips if I switch to the CT and it is more of a concern than range, it is....... how in the heck will I be able to charge the CT with my trailer in tow? I would have to either 1) unhitch (aint gonna happen) each time I charge, or drive parallel to the Tesla charger and hog up 5 empty charging spaces OR, 2) hope for a "pull through" charger which Tesla has very few. I'm screwed if I go through with the CT, I'll think I'm the dumbest dude on the planet to do this to myself.
@@timc.5189 Without the range extender I don't see how towing works past 200 miles and even with one installed I'd still want to see the charging curve.
Yeah I think chances of taking delivery are around 1% for me, but I will keep reservation and maybe end of next year they will do a discount on something again while waiting for delivery.
I've done that round trip in both a 3 and Y. You definitely want to try to arrive at the next charger as low as you dare (5-10%) and only charge what you need to reach the next charger. While charging, look ahead on your route to see where the 250kW options are. Occasionally there is a 250kW near an older 150kW and the navigation might favor the 150kW because it's less busy. There are a few chargers on that route you can skip but for the most part, stopping at all of them is optimal as you avoid the slower part of the charge curve which makes up for the few extra minutes of getting on/off the highway. Overall, it looks like you got about the same range I see on the 3 and Y on that trip with the only significant difference being longer charge times expected for a heavier vehicle with higher consumption and bigger battery. The speed out there is fast so not much you can do to safely drive slower but in a pinch, pulling in tight behind the fastest semi will do wonders for you consumption/range.
I think also on the most recent update they let you choose to search for what level of supercharger you want. I usually charge at home so I’ll have to double check to verify
Drafting behind a semi with FSD engage is workable but having to actually drive the whole time you are behind a semi would be super tiring.
even in cold?
@@TomVillarsHaving to drive the whole time on a 1500mi trip is super tiring regardless. TACC and the shortest follow distance setting works well enough for good range boost. If a faster semi passes, switch to that one.
As someone who has done over 10 roadtrips with his Tesla, I agree with this 100%. This is the way. I personally speed up my driving until my projected arrival at a Supercharger is between 5-10%. Rinse, wash, repeat between Supercharger stops. Makes the total roadtrip go by much faster
Considering how a Tesla will always be to the right of the Supercharger (from the unit's point of view) the solution seems obvious to me: with new deployments of the Supercharger units, flip the locations of the cable connection to the unit & the holster for the handle. This can be accomplished by simply turning the unit 180 degrees since there isn't a display screen that faces the user.
This way, instead of stretching ACROSS the unit to get to the receptacle, the cable would pivot from what is currently the handle holster side.
That should provide enough "extra length" that it won't be a problem to connect.
Dennis, feel free to pass this idea on to Elon, just mention that I am the one who brought it up. 😎
I like this!

@@DennisCW So, if you like it, give my comment a 'Like'. LOL
@pauld6967 -
What does one do if they are pulling a trailer ?? How can the charger be reached?? Am I missing something here ??
You have to disconnect the trailer. Pull through stations are needed for trailers. Some do exist but not that many.@@lrvracer3515
Don't blame the cord being too short for your backing up skills 😂 getting closer to the side line will help tremendously lol
pahahah yea
Just mentioned the same 😊
Seriously. Why would you not park closer to the line???
@@DennisCW 😂
There's also those cement stopper things that are designed to stop you back up too far which he hasn't even touched and seems to have plenty of clearance even if he did?
You guys did the charging exactly right and did very well to achieve 143kW on a 150kW charger. The truck is just not that efficient. It definitely can't do 320 miles range, unless maybe you drove it at 50mph.
The first time I made a trip along basically that same route in my Subaru Forrester I was pretty conservative on refilling my gas. Meaning I never let my tank get below 1/4 before looking to refill. Granted that was a few years ago but west Texas has some very long and barren stretches where I didn't want to take any chances. That being said I haven't run out of gas for decades and the last time was because my fuel gauge wasn't working and someone else had been driving my truck and left it on empty.
As for the speed, going 80 in much of that area is considered slow but watch out for highway patrol. Parking at the charging station, yes with a brand new over $100k+ vehicle I would also be careful and not get too close. Still it wouldn't be a big deal to move over a bit and back up another six inches once you knew there was enough clearance. Also for me I wasn't too concerned about the time for the drive or the charging time as I would be looking to see what kind of good eats, etc were available next to the charging stations, besides I only have a two hour bladder.
Four years ago I place my reservation early morning the next day so I know it's going to be quite a while longer before my notification for the Cybertruck, oh well.
That would suck to get out of the car that many times in bad weather
very - whats the worse?
your out for seconds.
They no longer sell the single ring 45. Is there issue with needing a bigger port exhaust?
This roadtrip was EPIC! It was so much fun! Thanks again for the opportunity to hang out with you and drive the Cybertruck!! 🙏🙏🙏
great times!
This was awesome, really enjoyed watching you guys go through all this. I have my cybertruck on order and imagine myself going through this through you guys.
Keep up the great work!
I do not understand after once or twice charging with the CT that you not always just drive against the bump. That wall was far enough for you to drive back against that bumb. Sounds easy to me.
I had the same thought! If the bump is there then why not use it?
Coz thats the new generation that will save us. Speaking genuinely, not trying to diss you
Is the truck bed cover open?? Gotta keep the tonneau cover closed to help areo
Informative video but those amount of miles driven between chargers compared to how long you stay at the charger is ridiculous. This roadtrip took too much time because of charging.
How much longer?

Hey let me ask you, how does the cable length workout for charging? Do you have a lot of extra cable? Can you park 10 - 12 feet away from the charger?

Great video guys! Thanks for sharing. Wish there were some legs where you compared having the tonneau cover closed vs open and along with the tailgate too. Congratulations again!
Way too much range anxiety fellas, in Australia when we do a similar trip (e.g. Darwin to Brisbane) in a ICE car we don't get worried until the reserve light comes on. Next time consider running your charge down further and I recon it will reduce the time at charging spots considerably - like-for-like comparisons are needed! Keep up the great work
learning! wait theres a light?
Low fuel light indicator
Maybe the Range Extension is worth it in some places
after doing some calculations it looks like at these highway speeds of 75+ you were doing , you can expect max range of 220 miles on full charge and max 176 with 80% charge
thank you! - what do you think is BEST range?
@@DennisCW in summer your range should improve by at around 20%, because of heating eating up electricity and cooler temp makes battery less efficient. The only other way to improve range is to go below 70 Mph if possible.
how much of mile/kWh?
The 33° weather youre driving probably doesn't help with range either. I live in Las Vegas and have a 2023 M3P and noticed about a 10% more decrease than normal when the temp here is in the high 40s/mid 50s.
At 10 minutes and 28 seconds was that the one that you had an issue with the screen?
Is there any setting that can show real range, percentage vs miles . SOC screen showing 75 miles at 25%.if you look at the bottom left trip meter does not add up. 578kw/mile.
you have to click on energy screen where consumption is and look at projected range. that would give you the most accurate estimate
@@PraiseYAyoupeople thanks, my question is. Is there any setting that shows on top left corner projected range based or real time power consumption. When truck is doing 1.7 miles per kwh in real time. Battery percentage still predicting 2.5 miles per kwh.
So how in the heck do you charge it if you are pulling a trailer? You can't back into the charger spot?
Very good question !!! I had never thought about that. Another “real life” consideration that may have been overlooked.
Oof you would hafta drop trailer every time?? In whatever neighborhood youre in?!
Probably have to de hitch
drop the trailer 15 times! yikes, so your telling me there are no super chargers you can pull next to, like you would a gas pump, but only back up to? Tesla hasn't installed or will install any chargers to pull up next to? All the chargers I saw in the video you backed in. I like Tesla and own stock but this is a major issue.
I see you drove with the tonneau cover retracted at some point. Didn't that affect your range?
helped alittle!
Am I seeing that your tonneau cover was open all the roadtrip? That reduces efficiency by a lot according to Tesla 😮
Does anyone know what song/ sound that was? 0:13
I wonder how much slower his total travel time would have been if he had driven a little more slowly. It looked like he was driving around 80 mph for most of the trip. He'd probably get better mileage driving slower.
great point - what speed do you go?
I think throttle control is the key. I've driven same speed or faster than Dennis in my model 3 and usually beat the Tesla estimates by 3-6%.
Ya 80 is fast and would definitely reduce range based on my experience with a model 3
evs are the opposite of ice vehicals. they are most efficient at low speeds in the city while ice vehicals are most efficient at high speeds on the highway.
Ice vehicles are most efficient around 55mph, electric 35mph. Theres obviously some variation depending on the car but with wind resistance, the velocity is squared, so the faster you go your drag doesn’t just increase, its amplified.
I’m still gutted I didn’t reserve mine day 1. I didn’t reserve mine until 1.5 to 2 months after the initial unveiling so I likely won’t be getting the foundation series but I have no idea how long I’ll be waiting. So I’ll be getting the highland model 3 refresh as a placeholder (that I’ll be keeping for everyday driving) until Tesla finally reaches out me to configure my Cybertruck. Man, I can’t wait for that day
Are you going to order one now? haha
How does it do with a full load or towing? Maybe 25 to 30 stops??
could you imagine having to make that many stops would be like a day and a half before you get there
Ouch, love the vids bro,
but dang the range and charging speeds are as bad as a 2018 model x 75d,
guess im waiting a couple more years till it gets better
You have more than enough extra length on all of the super chargers cables. Did you also complain about gas stations hoses being too short? If you need to backup to the wheels stops to have enough cable length then stop parking 2-3 feet too short just so you can complain.
just wait
Drive an hour then charge for 40 minutes to drive another hour? Seems like a fun road trip! Count me out
Unfortunately the charging and range of the Cybertruck is disappointing. It even came across in your voice at 11:28 “35 freakin minutes”.
hahaha i was so tired
On the first glance just a few things to point out. Temperature was 1 degree Celsius so pretty much freezing temps which is not optimal, the car was using up insanely much power judging by the last trip meters from time to time 900wh/km which is absolutely nuts. In comparison my M3 dual motor does around 180 in freezing temps , 160 in summer. So I bet some flooring or over speeding was the norm here as it was ranging between 300wh and 900wh/km. Also sad to see the infrastructure in the US is still so shit, in Europe you can't drive 50km without hitting a high speed charger and that allows you to always just charge between 5% and 60% ish so you never have to wait the 40 mins + as displayed here between charges. Tbh all in all the stalls were ok, getting 80+kw at 80% battery capacity is nothing to scoff at , M3 has barely 50-60 at that point and that is if I am lucky. So this shows pretty much the worst case scenario.
From my observation, better will be to gun the truck as fast as you can & arrive at the supercharger with as low battery as possible, because 4680 battery peak charging is before 25% & after that it drops dramatically..
So you'll drive fast, charge fast & leave the supercharger just under 80%
Don't even try to pass 80% it have no point
thanks for the tip
40 minutes of charging to drive 90 minutes is wild .
Who woulda thought a 3 ton truck isn’t very efficient ??
When you go to the supercharger, you can also park closer to the white line on the left.
The tonneau is open on many legs (why?), if you have it closed it will reduce consumption significantly.
temp tag!
Regarding backing up isnt there a REAR camera ? 😮
hahaha but
OK yes this also proves that it's very low mileage truck. Keep in mind this is with no other cars at the charging stations. So if more of these are on the Rd., having to stay on average 40 min per charge stop will increase to 1h1/2 per stop for your travel. So not a very feasible off-road truck, unless your going to have charging station in the wild where not even gas etc. refueling can be found.
Need more chargers
This is a young man’s vehicle. 1285 miles / 15 charges = 85 miles between “supercharges”. Wow, I guess @ 63 years old I’ll be sticking to my 32 mpg 400 mile range ICE. I’m in the northern part of the country which consumes more battery power to heat the battery & heat the interior.
How much $ would that trip cost if you had to use your credit card? I’m not knocking it. My 2 cents.
It's really hard to drive the speed limit on San Diego freeways. Even the slow lane is about 5 over.
But I see a huge difference between my wife's range and my range.
I did the same road trip in my cyber truck, pulling 2 jetski. It only took me 52 hours with 47 charging stops. Awesome truck
So sick! Thanks for making the video…i get mine in a few weeks…is this the dual motor?

How so?
Were there no 250kw chargers? Why are you charging at the slower 150kw chargers back to back to back?
Can you make a video comparing your Model X to the Cybertruck, for those of us who are trying to choose between the two?
Good idea
Most obvious problem in the cybertruck and any EVs out there is the charging time. A reasonable person cannot wait for more than 5 mins at the charging station and that is if there are any charging stations or working charging stations. Tesla and other manufacturers should ALL of their engineering time on improving the charging speed.
We needed a slide summary at the end with all the time and stats!!!
Good idea
Not a Tesla guy, but I love the technology. But I do have a question though; I used to be a truck driver and ALWAYS ran with a reserve just in case there was an accident, inclement weather, etc. why don't you charge the truck up to full charge to make sure you have some extra by the time that you arrive?
I'm curious about the musical selection used for this video. I really enjoyed most of the tunes and would like to add them to my library. Thanks for uploading all these videos for they really add information. I was fortunate enough to view the CT in person at a tesla showroom in BC and have to say - as impressive as it is in photos & videos....it's WAY more cool live in person ! Still loving our model 3 after 5 years of ownership...will add a CT to the stable once the bugs are ironed out and Tesla makes a few upgrades. Thanks !
Great trip! Have you attempted to go through an automatic carwash yet?
I think charging times may need improvement through software but that’s just a guess. I am wondering if there’s something going on with the software on these. I don’t know it just seems off compared to what they reported about charge times, but to be fair it could be something to do with the chargers themselvesor combination of both as well as range efficiency not sure if that software or if that’s just the lack of the batteries being able to handle the range. Hope they can figure it out and I hope it’s just a software issue.
Can't even imagine how terrible this "truck" would be if you where doing truck like things with it such as towing a trailer or boat where the range gets another 40 - 50% hit. What most folks need is plug in hybrid truck that covers say 50 miles which covers say 90% of many folks trips with a high efficiency turbo diesel that kicks in for longer trips and or towing....
On your next video can you mention actual cost of Supercharging.
Coming soon !
When you have the data of overall power used please let all know. This will be a great real life scenario for road trip to see what actual miles per kw is attained. Excellent work on finding the Easter Egg! Cheers
Thank you!
Stopping all the time at around 25% added a lot of time to your trip! Run it below 10 or even 5% if you know you'll make the next charger. All the charging speed is down low.
Could just drive closer to that yellow line and always touch that bump and shouldn't struggle with the charger cable 😊 will be interesting to see Tesla roll out 350kw S.Chargers
15 stops?! Is that common for that many miles?? Was each stop 30 to 50 mins?? How much does it cost to fuel up?? (yea i get the more charge you use the more you need to refill)
$20-30
Using a mean value of $25/charge, If my math is correct, that equates to what would be about $4.08/gallon with a combustion engine, and a total cost of $375 .
Here in Ohio gas is roughly $2.69/gallon.....I don't see the environmental benefit here, since you have to burn excess coal to produce the excess electricity needed. Also, time is money, so the loss of work productivity goes way down as well.
If I used my car, and took a rest break every two hours and a fuel break every five hours, I would only lose 100-120 minutes between the 3-4 stops needed, and it should only take me about 19-hours to drive, and would cost me approximately $135🤷🤷🤷
Good road trip looks like Texas could be its own country with how long it took to get out of there. Glad y’all made it to California safely.
Hahaha Texas was massive
You really showed the the real life experience with this extremely cool but flawed* vehicle. In order to maximize range you have to go down to really low percentages but then you risk a break down if there is an issue at the planned charging station (less of a Tesla problem). Also you will consume a ton of battery if you move at the pace of traffic which is 70+ out east and 80+ in most of the open spaces elsewhere. Finally the CT suffers from poor charging (charging curve) due to the battery type. Still a super cool video but this thing is best used for regional travel with great charging infrastructure. It will be interesting to see if the $60k version is even worse if it ever actually comes out. I suspect Tesla won't want to give up margin and will continue focusing on the $80k and up CTs given their ability to crank out limited numbers.
I'm super, thanks for asking
AWESOME!
Is there a way to just pick 250 chargers and stop lower percentage?
You could - but we didn't want to risk it
@@DennisCWI didn’t understand their question, what’s 250 chargers?
@@jeffshanjohn4175250kW speed chargers instead of 150 or slower.
@@jeffshanjohn4175250 kilowatts of charging power. Those are Tesla’s fastest. Many locations have 150 kW chargers. Those are the slowest you want to navigate to on a road trip unless you’re stopping somewhere for a couple hrs. Then you could use the 75kW urban superchargers located in city centers. Overnight you only need an 8 kW, which you can often find for free charging.
The Tesla navigation lets you filter out lower kW charging locations.

I met you in West Fargo (at the hotel)! Keep on Trucking!
EV newbies doing all the things to prolong the trip😂. I'm surprised so many V1s are left in the US, it's difficult to even find V2s here in Korea.
Need V4
I think if you max your speed at 74 or 75 mph AND close the tonneau cover, you'd make better range, less time at the chargers. And maybe get there sooner, despite driving slower.
But what about the distance between chargers?
65mph is the optimal speed. My normal commute is about 30 miles one way. If I drive 65mph the whole way I use about 15% if I go 70-75 fluctuating then I'm at 23%-25%. 65mph is optimal.
On average how many miles are you getting range every time you charge it
waa?
Oyoy
What was the cost of all the charge ups, each way & round trip?
Video coming soon!
What was the average temperature, sorry if I missed it.
35
Too much energy consumption: "80 miles/h - because we are speeding?" Hearing laughs from my BMW 6 diesel cylinders. I would really love the Cybertruck from it's optics, Design and features. Too bad it's bad in the basic mean of driving long range.
why do you keep stopping at 150kw chargers?
How?
I am looking forward to my cybertruck in about 5 years (1.5 MM in line). That said I hope there is a battery breakthrough by then because it is just not viable for towing my trailer on long hauls.
What’s your RN?
Why is everyone doing long distance test with the cover open? Is there really no difference in drag when open compared to closed?
I should do two tests
How much does it cost to charge? Never had an EV, so curious.
Are the charges free ?? Is that part of the attraction/bargain to purchasing the Cyber Truck (and/or any EV for that matter).
Costs money
Cybertruck 4680 battery pack seems either very conservatively managed by BMS until Tesla has enough degradation and use data to possibly open up for a more aggressive charging profile. Or possibly we will need to wait for a next gen battery chemistry to be released that offers all the objectives and goals set at battery day over 3 years ago. Higher density would also allow for more kWh in future packs of same size.
Cyber Beast delivery confirmed for mid to late 24. Reserved mine min 1, I live in Wi
love it ! why beast?
Did he say it cost $25 total to go from TX to CA?
The Range is Horrible...
1340 / 12 Charger Stop
111 miles avg per charge
How long does it take to recharge... 40 mins
Many Sedans with 20 gal tank can go at least 400 miles on 1 tank on highway...
Curious,
Why fully charge it so can cut stops from 12 to maybe 6 or 7 stops?
Thanks for sharing...
cool, we all want to know , was the charging free or how much did you pay for all the charging ?
Video coming soon!
Road tripping in a CT.... forgetabout it! I own a MYP and road tripping with it can be a challenge sometimes
Wonder how your experience vs Ford CEO Farley road trip and also w Rivian. Farley video was painful to watch and made me happy i got a Tesla. That said, I appreciate his honesty
Love the truck but man that thing charges slow! My 23 Plaid I charge at 1000 MPH all the time at 250 KW chargers, you were only hitting like 550 MPH at the 250 KW chargers. And I can go 300 miles between charges and it seems like you were stopping almost every 100 miles or so to charge, sorry buy that would be a pain. I guess the Cybertruck isn't really made for road tripping.
