The 1-pedal driving on the dual-motor Tesla's (only using the brake pedal rarely, when you left re-gen braking till way too late) is even easier to get used to. nah I like being able to sit back every once in a while and drive with one hand and with the other resting at my side while i’m out on country roads or something
So here is the real question.... what do you feel through the wheel? In a normal steering setup you are directly fed the forces that apply on the front wheels, you can feel the moment traction lets go, you get queues for counter steer when the back lets go and you get all sorts of tyre loading feedback as the sidewalls deflect etc. That is unless you are driving some dumb car where they have over put in too much power steering force that it is all hidden. Here there is no feedback. I get with aircraft (I used to work on commercial flight sims) in that they can apply "force to the column" but flight feedback is a very different thing to the subtle feedback of a wheel. There are some good car sim rigs now BUT we are still talking they only provide the feel they are told to. How have they solved this or did they even solve it?
my best guess is they do something like a direct drive wheel for sim racing, which are pretty damn good at replicating similar feel to actual cars, but racing an actual car still feels very different than having a motor dictate how you feel the tires slip, grip, and slide. The visibility frankly doesn't look good either, yeah you can see far, but whats right next to you you can't, especially when you have it raised to max height, which is an issue with basically every other truck as well tbh. Also how some of the cybertruck is constructed is kind of concerning, the front body lines between the headlights and daylight running lights seem to be held under tension by plastic clips, which is pretty dangerous if repairs need to be done to it, and I have no idea how stainless steel is going to be if welding, metal pulls, and bodywork need to be done or if it's always going to have to be replaced for bigger dents/major repairs. tldr the cybertruck looks like a bit of a mess imo
I own one, and I can say the videos coming out do an extreme disservice to the size of the vehicle. The parabolic effect of the lense makes this look like the size of a honda civic. it has about a 4 or 5 inch clearance in my garage. Its truly a Beast! Love It though !
So I see that you shift using the screen. What happens if the screen if shattered or simply does not work? How are you gonna shift? That screen seems to hold all the abilities of the vehicle, including vitals
That's my biggest concern with these vehicles. I don't trust a system on a car that's 100% reliant on electric. A backup manual option must be available
@@mattg71313 good question. If there is horsing around & someone accidently damages the screen. If a liquid is spilled on the screen & it seeps into the interior of the device (unless the screen is waterproof). Also, if the screen somehow gets compromised (hacked) & someone else has control of the electrical vehicle. Or just a simple malfunction of the device.

„Can’t go off road with my truck, it needs a software update.“
Can't go offroad with my truck, needs oil/needs a new cylinder gasket/fuel injector needs cleaning/needs a new oil pan/needs a coolant top off/needs new turbo/needs new brake pads. I'd much rather wait 10 min for a software update then have to go through any of the above.

couple of questions:
Off-roading how deep of water can I cross? 1'...2'?
When the battery goes dead, shit does go sour when off-roading, can I plug the the truck into one of the outlets that are built in?
Is there a place to store extra energy like my Jeep? (I typically carry a minimum of 5 gallon of gas).
About the extra energy:
There's something you can buy from tesla called the "Range Extender"
I think it adds a solid 100ish miles to your range but I don't quite remember
I watched a video of a cyber truck going through water and the water completely burned the system and it broke down.
All I say is that giant iPad is no different than me being distracted on my cell phone and driving. Sir, how’d you crash today? I was distracted on my display center consul. I was trying to roll down my windows and I didn’t realize people slapped on their brakes in front of me.
I would buy this just to piss everyone off.
the cyber truck nuts are insane
When you're stopped by the highway patrol, just tell the trooper you were in "chill mode"
11:08, It is hilarious how you reach for the turn signal lever instinctively. It would totally take me forever to get used to the button instead XD
It's not a new feature, my Tesla Model 3 has it and the Model S & X have it for more than a year, with the yoke steering wheel. It doesn't take very long to get used to. The 1-pedal driving on the dual-motor Tesla's (only using the brake pedal rarely, when you left re-gen braking till way too late) is even easier to get used to. On small European roundabouts you have to get locate the buttons ASAP when entering the roundabout, which takes some time to get used to.

”it has the first ever production steer-by-wire setup” lol 7:19
It would have been nice if they made the mirror a screen for the back camera.
If they ever make a Back to the Future remake, this is the truck they should use to replace the DeLorean.
Especially since, like the Delorean, the CT is nowhere near as good as it sounds on paper.
Shame in 5 years they will be rusted to shit
Except this time Doc can't see Marty due to the CT's massive blindspots, hitting him and the sharp corners causing his gut to rip open onto the streets. It ends with him saying "Great Scott I killed Marty! Looks like I'm going to have to go back in time to before vehicular manslaughter charges existed!"

Never expected it would ended up as my dream car.
My gosh that is a heck of a windshield wiper

i feel like that steering wheel, makes u feel like u need to drive it with both hands, which is really nice.
nah I like being able to sit back every once in a while and drive with one hand and with the other resting at my side while i’m out on country roads or something
Oh look it looks like a fancy dumpster 🤯😂

Inside looks good. The way the body looks tho 💀

Theres a backup gear selector on the ceiling by the rear view mirrior I think
@@rminitials It is available. There is manual option.
Serious question - what activities would you have to be doing in the front seat of a car to shatter that screen?
@@mattg71313 good question.
If there is horsing around & someone accidently damages the screen. If a liquid is spilled on the screen & it seeps into the interior of the device (unless the screen is waterproof). Also, if the screen somehow gets compromised (hacked) & someone else has control of the electrical vehicle. Or just a simple malfunction of the device.
