Pro tip: On the 3rd Pirate scenario, there is a hidden treasure chest in one of the caves, namely the one closest to the park entrance. You can sell this treasure chest using the delete key to get an extra $7,500 to help you win the scenario.
Wow!! That's a great tip Mikey! Thanks :) I'll be sure to overlay that into the video later and credit you for that! And I know what you mean about those gold treasure chests, I placed one down as a prop on my Good Golly Miss Molly Map and was like whoa, that was expensive.... haha
This was the first thing I thought of when the scenario description read "now if only Peg Leg Pete the Pirate could find his buried treasure...". To my chagrin, it wasn't buried, lol
Pro tip: by holding down the Ctrl you can disconnect a path from another path if you are trying to make them so they don't stick together also you can hold down "Z" to make the roads connect whit sharp edges instead of the round and sometimes frustrating edges!
Awesome Samuel! Glad to have you join the community! And be sure to check out the other content on this channel, I have more guide and tutorials for building! We also do a spotlight show for parks, coasters, rides, and featured creators! You can submit your stuff and get showcased on the show! :D I also have a very creative let's play series that everyone seems to be loving! Were building Yeti land! :D
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it, and yes, I should have mentioned the plaza thingy. Doh.... Don't know why I didn't. There is so many tips that I sorta skipped, I'm thinking i should do a part 2 now >
smoothing tip: you can drag the track selector past the other to select the entire coaster and smooth all at once. you do not have to drag it down the entire track.
Only 3 minutes in and already worth it. Totally missed the Lift-Speed option, saw in on the Ride like the Iron Horse but never thougt about it here (stupid me ^^^). Long lift always ruin my fun factor. Thanks a lot
No problem! I have other guides and tutorials you may find useful. Come check out my tutorials column on my TH-cam homepage. Working on a Tips & Tricks 2 guide soon too! :D
Great video, thanks! Newer player and this was a big help. 👍👍👍 Only additional thing I try for scenarios is to not hire a mechanic until a ride breaks. Then just place them at the ride exit that's broken. Once the rides fixed, let them go. I call it the 'contractor mode'.
I just started playing and I didn't know the shop building tips on how you can delete windows out of blue print buildings and out in a shop. Thanks for all of the great tips!
Glad you enjoyed, you may also love my new ultimate coaster guide that I spent 20 hours making! And could you show me the time stamp where i say "chief of beef" You're not the only one who laughed at this, I'm really curious to hear it now lol....
Thanks A LOT for the Tipp with the square Path!!! I tryed to fill a Building with a path for shops but it dousnd lok good... Now it do's! THANKS A LOT!
Hey, thanks for all the tips! Lots of useful stuff here. One thing I wanted to add: when using the Free Cam after toggling it on with the "T" key, you can hold down shift to speed it up a lot when you just need to zoom to the other side of your park. Not really faster than toggling off free cam and doing it with the mouse, but maybe more convenient if you just don't want to go through the extra steps to get there.
Yeah, I believe I added this tip into one of my more recent tutorials xD , but thank you! This comment should still be helpful for those who read comments! :D
it's crazy at how specific you cab get at this game and how you can use certain tools in different ways than what you'd think... so easy to got lost in time with this game! great video though! Subscribed!
Maybe they didn't add the extra building blueprints as a way to force people to play the scenarios if they want to get them. If someone only plays sandbox mode they would miss out on these buildings, so by doing this, they push people into starting the scenarios and maybe they will stick around and play them.
Interesting point, but I also think it was a time constraint issue. Most people played through the entire campaign without even realizing you can save out various blueprints that didn't come with the game.
Dude, I am loving your content. I'm about to start a Planet Coaster series in my channel but I'm concerned about the length of my videos. Any hint about that? Again, awesome content! Keep it up!
Hey again SaraiaBr! To be completely honest with you. Your videos are perfect length already! 10-15 minutes is great. I use to have a rule of thumb: Don't go over 20 minutes and try to keep it under 15. However, with planet coaster I tend to get a bit ranty and there is just so much to say. Even after chopping it down in editing I have several now that bust over 30 and even 40 minutes.... But people seem to like it and stick around for the full duration. So as long as your engaging and keep up a decent pace, I think it's ok. I do however make many short videos too, it's a mixed bag for a mixed audience!
can you use a right angle coaster as an elevator? I miss that option! use a rectangular track with a rotating car so it wont give a "coaster feel" to it.
I just stumbled across this game on the PS Store looking forward to playing it the last park simulator I played was Jurassic world evolution 2 so I think I'll figure this out.
Chain lifts increase fear during the ride in my testing with boomerang and gigs coasters. A slower chain lift combined with a large hill builds suspense for the guests I guess. But it only takes the rating during the lift from like .91~ to 2.0~ during the hill climb
Just got this game last night. So what your saying if I got this right. If I go into sandbox mode and make my own pieces I could potentially use them on career mode. I've only completed the first two parts of the beginner scenario and was a bit annoyed with the lack of pieces.
Another option for your coaster entrance/exit problem, when placing the station, you have the option of left entrance/exit; right entrance/exit; left entrance/right exit and right entrance/left exit. Shift the exit to the opposite side, it will drastically reduce your unloading time
Thanks for commenting Brutalba! I've played around with this feature as well, but didn't notice it increasing the time. Are you suggesting if they board from the left and exit on the right you get a slight boost in time? My only issue with that, is that I often times have my coaster track on the inside, so having an exit there could be problematic. It's something I will certainly have too play around with some more, thanks for the tip!
Big huge like on the tips!!! I think there may have been some rebalancing on staff and prices since this vid posted: 1) Staff: I find about 50% start in the orange on happiness, I immediately train those and boost wage by $30 and they are good for quite awhile, when they hit high workload, rinse repeat. 2) As for prices on food and drink, I enable extras at default (some) and bump by a $1 or $2 and seems to be good.
Yes! :) I also love the new synchronize shops feature from the winter update! I do a complete breakdown in my winter update video! Be sure to stay tuned, will be making an updated Tips & Tricks part 2 hopefully in the next week! :D
littleMikey's tip made me think of it but in the scenario back from the brink, there's loads of scenery worth selling in the park. Coming soon signs, "stumps", and even a whole railway area, in total a couple thousand dollars, makes it nearly easy, don't forget to pause. :D
Hi. Great video. How do you have such a streamlined game. Its like 8K. Im struggling on my PC as the game lags, and is quite slow. Any tips on settings in the graphics area or shall I get a whole new graphics card? Thanks
Thanks! I had a coaster where the ratings plummeted when I switched it from test mode to open. I figured it was a bug and was going to get around to reporting it, but it does have a long station and I'll have to see if a similar problem is affecting it. Good tips!
Thank you Red Nebula, glad you found it helpful! I just released a new Guide called The Ultimate Coaster Guide! Which took me roughly 20 hours to make! So I recommend watching it if you found this one useful. xD I also see you subscribed, so thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! I actually skipped MANY tips, because I felt they were to "beginner'ish" However, i'm learning that many people want to know everything. So I will be eventually making a beginners guide, a building guide, and a tips & tricks part 2 as I have been figuring out several new ones! So be sure to subscribe for more if you havn't already!
Channel5 Gaming no no it was just the right kind of tips I was looking for, I've played all the RC games and there's always little hidden things that make life easier, like the saving items as a building to duplicate I didn't know that one!
Awesome! As Mentioned earlier, I have been making a list of those "little things" The under the hood tips that aren't exactly to obvious at first. I should hopefully soon have enough of them to warrant a full video! PS: I love RCT as well, I have a series on my channel from only 7 months ago! We play Player Vs Player, 2 players! :D
Hey ChronicleSiN! Thanks for dropping the rare comment for me! I really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :) I am currently taking notes for a Tips & Tricks part 2, so be sure to subscribe and check back in for more video like this!
Oooooh should have maybe started here. I watched many of the park reviews and tried replicating what I saw. Hiding supports is also an option in the coster itself while building or while editing later. Probably wasn't around at the time when this Video was made? Very helpful anyway. Gonna try those Mouse centered cameras.
Hey MoreLoliThanYou! You're having troubles making multiple stations for Light Line Monorail? I'm Glad to help! All you need to do is lead the track to where you want your next station to be positioned, once you're ready simply switch your track piece back into a station piece and plop down a few station pieces. Make sure to try and keep each station the same size, that way you can have a matching amount of trains at each station! Hope that helps! :)
Just use block sections. Don’t use three trains if you’re track isn’t more than a 90s in duration. If you have a long station I would max out at two train lengths but not 3 cause... I always ask myself if I was standing here would it look weird/unnatural? Unrealistic?
Managing the staff so that they don't quit is not so difficult once you figure out what is the minimum pay rise required for different staff at different levels. A common mistake people make is employing staff when they don't need it. Generally don't start hiring handymen until the park is well filthy and don't hire mechanics until you have minimum 5-6 rides or when the first one breaks. Also don't bother with security guards and entertainers until your cash flow is very stable.
You will want to place your exit at the front of your coaster, then it only takes a couple of seconds for the people to exit the ride and the gate will open to let them on a lot sooner.
Paul Irvine yes but it doesn't change the fact that this is an unnecessary limitation. If you actually put the entry and exit on opposite sides of the station then you can totally avoid this problem.
Awesome, welcome to the community, be sure to check out some of the other shows on this channel. I take in player submissions such as coasters, parks, rides and workshops and review them on the show! We also have many other guides, tutorials, lets plays and lets builds that you may learn from! :D
I am having trouble on the 3rd Fantasy scenario. I built my coaster with requirements met, I made a monthly profit of $3,000, then three in-game years later; I am in a financial deficit. I have about 20 rides (5 are coasters and 2 are track rides (one of those track rides is a train ride no one is riding)), 9 staff, there is litter all over, no one is happy, and many of my attractions are aging (which is causing more unhappiness). I have about $50,000 and my monthly profit is $-3,000. What did I do wrong?
Hi nice to meet you :) Great tips and tricks video, really interesting and helpful :) thank you for sharing :) have you got any tips and tricks for planet zoo too? just wondered :) have a nice day, stay safe and well :) magz :)
This channel is so fantastic it should get a million more attention than it gets. Also my log flumes keep getting terrible exitment ratings and I had huge! Drops what do I do?
I alwasy found these games odd, that we make the guests pay per ride, not to just come into the park. I know it helps understand the ride itself, it’s popularity & such…but, you can still get that just by its riders, what they say, etc. So, when I play Sandbox..? No ride charges. I just make a gate entrance charge & leave it, at that
Doesn't testing the roller coaster set the ratings? If you have the first train go through it wont have to wait at the end and not ruin your stats. I don't understand.
Hey JointheResistence123! Great question! I thought this too, but apparently the stats WILL change based on the things I mentioned, the people walking to the end of the boarding stations adds to the wait time, and this is something that just cannot be tested during the test phase, cause it doesn't include passengers walking off the station! Therefor stats will change after the fact! :(
Oh, thanks for the reply. I didn't know that the stats could change after. But yes, I did notice that exit issue. I now put the exit right by the arrow. It's dumb that people cant enter the cars right away.
I dont understand why having a long chain lift lowers the excitement. If anything it should raise it. The most exciting part of the roller coaster is the long climb you have to make before the first big drop
Right. However the excitement does start to rise and you can see it on guest facial reactions once it reaches the top of the hill however still on the chain lift
I was really looking for a sandbox mode where you don't have unlimited money. To me that's a creative mode not sandbox mode! It sounds like opening a saved file as a challenge would do that for me.
Not sure what you are referring to in terms of what I said? ctrl D will duplicate certain things, other times ctrl X works too. I prefer CTRL X cause it gives you the translation widget for precise control where ctrl D will force it to follow your mouse making things un-even suddenly.
I know this is really late but there is an option to hide supports so that tip is kind of pointless....maybe they added this feature after this video was posted.
Pro tip: On the 3rd Pirate scenario, there is a hidden treasure chest in one of the caves, namely the one closest to the park entrance. You can sell this treasure chest using the delete key to get an extra $7,500 to help you win the scenario.

12:45 Added your tip in. Thank again Mikey!
They even said it in the scenario description :D You were actually looking for that?!
Yeah, I didn't think they would just make it up.
This was the first thing I thought of when the scenario description read "now if only Peg Leg Pete the Pirate could find his buried treasure...". To my chagrin, it wasn't buried, lol
"Let them quit! Just hire a new worker!" Why does that sound like real life?
lol
Yeah, why do they put that in the game it gets annoying when they quit. I might just have a special exit for them with an exploding coaster cart, lol
Because it is an American made game.
Tip: if you are playing on sandbox give the staff a massive pay
I suppose, it's play style preference really. xD
Channel5 Gaming I remember giving a dude like 1k for his pay then he QUIT later then I paid him 80$ to get back XD
I used to do this, but now I just turn off staff features.
Thank you!! Couldn’t figure out why they kept quitting
Me: But why?
Brain: You gotta
The "Save as Blueprint" tip is my favorite so far! So handy
I'm prety sure that there is an option to turn off supports while building the track in the track building menu
Ah ha! I just tested this and you are correct my friend! Thank you for the great tip! :)
You're welcome, nice planet coaster content. I'm going to check your vids from now on
Awesome! Thank you, I appreciate it! Glad to have you here. :)
I added a note to my video at around 6:45 explaining your tip. Thanks again Joeri De Vos! :)
Thnx haha! The shout out in the vid isn't really necassary though;p
Pro tip: by holding down the Ctrl you can disconnect a path from another path if you are trying to make them so they don't stick together
also you can hold down "Z" to make the roads connect whit sharp edges instead of the round and sometimes frustrating edges!
Thank you Kurkora! Those are great tips! I'm making a big list for Tips & Tricks 2, this will go into it! Thanks again! :D
Thank you
I just started playing this game three days ago. This video definitely helped me a lot. Thank you!
Awesome Samuel! Glad to have you join the community! And be sure to check out the other content on this channel, I have more guide and tutorials for building! the square edge path thing also works great for making plazas... great video for newbies man! a lot of these are helpful to find the flow of the game!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it, and yes, I should have mentioned the plaza thingy. Doh.... Don't know why I didn't. There is so many tips that I sorta skipped, I'm thinking i should do a part 2 now >

Glad you enjoyed, you may also love my new ultimate coaster guide that I spent 20 hours making! And could you show me the time stamp where i say "chief of beef" You're not the only one who laughed at this, I'm really curious to hear it now lol....
Channel5 Gaming "chief of beef" @ 17:07
OH I see, people call is chief beef... Well thats just SILLY. hes the CHIEF of the BEEF! xD
Thanks A LOT for the Tipp with the square Path!!! I tryed to fill a Building with a path for shops but it dousnd lok good... Now it do's! THANKS A LOT!
Dude im getting the game and these tips are really gonna help me
32:50 that's what I do to hide employee buildings
Hey, thanks for all the tips! Lots of useful stuff here. Can you make video about SPECIALS EFFECTS TRICK AND TIP
Only had the game for a couple of days, this video is amazing! Many thanks for making it!
This is so helpful! Thank you. I'm new to the game and I'm loving it! I'm loving your videos too. Awesome work man, keep it up!!!
Thank you Adnrew. Really appreciate it :)
Not sure if this was mentioned, im halfway through watching but jacking up prices on food and rides whats the park entrance fees?
5:50 which park is this? I remember seeing it in a video a long time ago, but I forgot the name (and the video it was highlighted in)
Dude, I am loving your content.
I see. I understand! Thank you so much bro! Success
:)
can you use a right angle coaster as an elevator? I miss that option!
use a rectangular track with a rotating car so it wont give a "coaster feel" to it.
I just stumbled across this game on the PS Store looking forward to playing it the last park simulator I played was Jurassic world evolution 2 so I think I'll figure this out.
Tip on the first one, use block stations, and have a small station, it will look better and operate better
Ah ha! Thanks mate. If I smooth my coasters, hopefully ppl won't hate them so much. Cheers.
12:44 you can also press 'l' to turn on a light
Great tips. Finally actual useful tips.
Will using a gaming mouse make moving and scrolling around the park any easier?
Chain lifts increase fear during the ride in my testing with boomerang and gigs coasters. A slower chain lift combined with a large hill builds suspense for the guests I guess. But it only takes the rating during the lift from like .91~ to 2.0~ during the hill climb
Just got the game and trying to find good tutorials has been kind of hard to do. Thanks!
How can I make a railroading crossing? I have disabled all the collisions and it's still giving me problems. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks for the smoothing tip
Just got this game last night. So what your saying if I got this right. If I go into sandbox mode and make my own pieces I could potentially use them on career mode. I've only completed the first two parts of the beginner scenario and was a bit annoyed with the lack of pieces.
Your park looks so cool. With all the rollercoasters
This helps a newbie like me very much, thanks🖒
Another option for your coaster entrance/exit problem, when placing the station, you have the option of left entrance/exit; right entrance/exit; left entrance/right exit and right entrance/left exit. Shift the exit to the opposite side, it will drastically reduce your unloading time
Thanks for commenting Brutalba! I've played around with this feature as well, but didn't notice it increasing the time. Are you suggesting if they board from the left and exit on the right you get a slight boost in time? My only issue with that, is that I often times have my coaster track on the inside, so having an exit there could be problematic. It's something I will certainly have too play around with some more, thanks for the tip!
oh my god. I just learned that I have over the top tunnel vision. Learned so much thank you lol
I have enjoyed your video's....Very informative.
Thank you Frankie! Glad you're enjoying the channel! :D
Big huge like on the tips!!! Channel5 Gaming Excellent, I'm looking forward to it 😬👍
:)
Try pressing T , it will change your camera mode to mouse central.
9:51 xD
I've been told that the disc version on the xbox-x runs out of memory, is this correct?
I wonder if you now use the 4m method...the pain, but it is so so worth it
littleMikey's tip made me think of it but in the scenario back from the brink, there's loads of scenery worth selling in the park. Coming soon signs, "stumps", and even a whole railway area, in total a couple thousand dollars, makes it nearly easy, don't forget to pause. :D
You don't need long stations if you use block brakes and check block section.
Really helpful, one of the most helpful planet coaster videos in fact!
Hi. Great video. How do you have such a streamlined game. Its like 8K. Im struggling on my PC as the game lags, and is quite slow. Any tips on settings in the graphics area or shall I get a whole new graphics card? Thanks
Chain Lifts don’t affect EFN values
They do
@@kiwikiwi2483 they don't. It says so when you hover over the chain lift box
Thanks! I had a coaster where the ratings plummeted when I switched it from test mode to open. I figured it was a bug and was going to get around to reporting it, but it does have a long station and I'll have to see if a similar problem is affecting it. Good tips!

I am watching this 3 years later
16:20 Yes but is the park entrance free? -_-
How about recreating a park or a entrance?
So many great tips here thanks!

I never knew you could do square paving.
I love your steam makings they are so good
Nice video
How do you place more than one Light kine Station ?
Hey MoreLoliThanYou! You're having troubles making multiple stations for Light Line Monorail? I'm Glad to help! You will want to place your exit at the front of your coaster, then it only takes a couple of seconds for the people to exit the ride and the gate will open to let them on a lot sooner.

Very nice video, thanks loads for the tips xD
Getting this game today. This video will help me.
Awesome, welcome to the community, be sure to check out some of the other shows on this channel. I take in player submissions such as coasters, parks, rides and workshops and review them on the show! We also have many other guides, tutorials, lets plays and lets builds that you may learn from! :D
Yeah i will be using your workshop items.
I usually dismiss almost all vendors, demolish the shops, and build vending machines instead.
I am having trouble on the 3rd Fantasy scenario. I built my coaster with requirements met, I made a monthly profit of $3,000, then three in-game years later; I am in a financial deficit. Hi nice to meet you :)
Great tips and tricks video, really interesting and helpful :)
thank you for sharing :)
have you got any tips and tricks for planet zoo too? just wondered :)
have a nice day,
stay safe and well :)
magz :)
This channel is so fantastic it should get a million more attention than it gets. Also my log flumes keep getting terrible exitment ratings and I had huge! Drops what do I do?
Thank you so much Witherama8! Really happy t ohear you like this channel! Tell your friends, let's grow this together!
No problem! and I agree, I feel this is a poor design choice, and a bit of a bug. Hopefully it gets fixed in the future.
Channel5 Gaming No kidding. Thanks for the video, I finally learned how to increase the speed on the coaster lifts! :)
Glad I could help, and happy you enjoyed the video! I'm working on notes for a part 2, so stay tuned! :D
🖐🏽hai how can you autotunnel rides
genius bro nice work :)
Thank you Alleycat! Glad to have you here!
Thaaaank you. was hoping you covered the camera.
More tips coming soon! Making a big list :)
I dont understand why having a long chain lift lowers the excitement. If anything it should raise it. The most exciting part of the roller coaster is the long climb you have to make before the first big drop
Right. However the excitement does start to rise and you can see it on guest facial reactions once it reaches the top of the hill however still on the chain lift
just got the game, great tips thanks so much!
Awesome, glad to see you checking out the guides and tutorial videos! :D
Subbed, thanks for the video!
I heard you say "Out" 1 min in and I was like ok this guy has to be from canada
lol Out is a pretty common word. I need to get out of the train station! But yes, musta been the way i said it cause I am Canadian after all xD
Nice Video! Helpful
Glad you enjoyed it Sic! Thanks for stopping by! :)
2019?
Amazing vid
awesome :D actually some stuff i didn't already know :D
Have notes for a part 2, just can't seem to find time to get it done. :(
i hate when people miss out the coaster legs so it looks un-realistic because there coaster is too compact or not made well, think about that
you mean when people disable supports? I usually leave all of mine on. I think the only time i removed them is on that darn monorail.
oh sorry, yh i meant that
No need to be sorry :)
ty :)
I was really looking for a sandbox mode where you don't have unlimited money. To me that's a creative mode not sandbox mode! It sounds like opening a saved file as a challenge would do that for me.
Very good tutorial.
Thanks Vini! I should have a part 2 coming in the near future! :)
can't you just press control d and the object will be copied?
Not sure what you are referring to in terms of what I said? ctrl D will duplicate certain things, other times ctrl X works too. I prefer CTRL X cause it gives you the translation widget for precise control where ctrl D will force it to follow your mouse making things un-even suddenly.
I know this is really late but there is an option to hide supports so that tip is kind of pointless....maybe they added this feature after this video was posted.
Did he say most focus
7:15 LoL XD
"once you start making bank you can start worrying about those 1%ers" lol have you considered a career in politics? haha
Hahaha, i'm actually the worst person to talk to about politics. I know nothing! Us Canadians try not to worry bout that stuff ;)
Just started, the music is getting really annoying.
