The music loudly blasts throughout the whole thing. The music always played at Disneyland but never played at WDW until 2006. Our queue used to be so unique with its neat sound effects but now you cant hear them anymore. .
@@matthewheid1645 So true...all that along with the ship in the harbor as you board are things that differentiate our version from DL's. Wish they would lower the volume so you can hear all the sound effects. Yeah DL may have the Blue Bayou and the extended caverns but WDW has the better facade when the cannons were blasting and the better queue from the chess playing pirates to the digging pirates in the cave and the ship out in the harbor.
@@andrewh4855 also the WDW queue used to have the Pirates Arcade (aka Fortune Red's music), and it only played at the entrance. As you continued to walk through the fortress the music faded out so you could hear the sound effects. The Pirates Arcade was unique and better for the WDW queue because its eerie tune fit the creepy atmosphere of the old fortress. I can't believe the 2006 Imagineers chose to replace it and the fact that they have the Pirates Overture loudly blasting throughout the whole queue, drowning out the sound effects, proves that they are Disneyland kids who didn't do their research on WDW.

Five years ago I went on this at Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween. It was totally empty. I remember bounding down the deserted corridors and riding twice like it was yesterday. I moved out of Florida 4 years ago. I don’t much miss the state but this ride, man, I hope I can come back again one day.
Disneyland's version is 15 1/2 minutes. Florida's 8 minutes. It's not physically possible (unless they literally rip out the entire ride and start over).

this ride was pretty good in the fighting part which was the best part the queue line was better than the rest of the ride i really liked how realistic it looked it felt like i was really outside at night on a boat in the caribbean seriously though i think they even had a breeze it felt amazing in the queue line there was a guy dressed up as a pirate behind bars you could talk to while waiting which was cool the other interesting part when waiting was a window that felt like i was actually looking out of a fortress at the night sky (it even had the breeze with it too)

I agree with you that the Disneyland ride is better, but the DW is still very good. Look at it this way. DL has the better Pirates, DW has the better Haunted Mansion.
Awesome vid LMG Vids! I just went to WDW back in the beginning of Sept of 2019 and I wasn't able to see this much of the ride because of it being a dark ride. I still prefer Disneyland's version over this one, but it is what it is and it is still fun to ride on! Thank you for posting this! I also learned to cover my eyes when you see the talking skull because I was not able to see anything else after that camera flash. Now I need to find out or remember what my son named the crab in the first part of the ride. ;)

No worries about being biased towards a home park, I think we all are. :) I really don't have a home park, but Disneyland in Anaheim is the closest to were I live, but still quite a travel for me to get there. There is Space Mountain in Paris that I really want to go on as well! That ride looks amazing! And I love the way the Ratatouille ride looks! My neighbors went to Paris like last year and absolutely loved it there!

I find that’s it’s interesting that the fog screen effect in the cavern hasn’t been running lately. I went last month and it still looks like it’s not on. I presume that it has been removed just like the Disneyland fog screen. Hopefully they will bring back the original ghostly voices like in Disneyland.
Disney World's version didn't have the ghostly voices in the beginning of the cave. Instead they had the Yo Ho chorus. They did, however, have the ghost voices after the drop.

I actually sent an email to Disneyworld telling them to get their Pirates ride up to par and to stop neglecting it. They wrote back saying they would pass on my concern to the proper department. That said, the more emails they get the better.
@@111zoe I miss the longer cave portions of the Disneyland version. While I understand the love for the bayou, I don't feel it's necessary for the Magic Kingdom version. Much of northern Florida looks a lot like a bayou, with swampy lands covered in cypress trees draped in Spanish moss, like what you see in the Disneyland version.
