My favorite queue at the MK. Great shot of the ship in the bay at loading. That often overlooked element really setup the theme that you're leaving the Fort to get away from the invading pirates. Fantastic vid 4K

I’ve never seen this detail before ever! And pirates is my favorite ride, I remember hearing of an effect created using an overhead projector, that must’ve been it, how cool!!!
I think the visual quality of this video is better than my own eyesight.

Thanks for showing the queue! I remember going on this ride for the first time when I was 9 years old and feeling really nervous before getting on, not knowing what to expect and just taking in the atmosphere of the queue. I especially remember looking down at the two skeletons playing chess. Disney ride queues are sometimes underappreciated, but I love how they can help set the tone of the ride, or even provide a bit of backstory before the main experience starts.
I’ll be there in a week. Haven’t been in 20 years. Can’t wait!

The 8K was clearer than me seeing the Attraction in person!
The Queue for Pirates of the Caribbean has plenty of great theming.
I love the subtle things about Disney's story telling on this attraction.
Guests begin their voyage in the present Day.
There are storms a-brewing, a disembodied Ghost sets the Tale in motion and there are luckless skeletons on either side of our vessel.
And then.....
SWOOSH!
Down we go (under the track of the Walt Disney World Railroad) and find ourselves transported to the 19th Century, to a Port somewhere in the Caribbean Sea.
No more spooky ghosts whispering in our ears.
No skeletons.
Just flesh and blood Pirates, Town Folk and critters.
(My personal favorites are "Hairy Leg" on the Bridge and the Pirate who's content to live the good life in the company of his friendly piggy buddies along the river bank.)
After our voyage, we ascend the moving ramp and find ourselves back in the present Day where we can load up on LOTS of Pirate souvenirs. 😉
By the way - I misread the message on one of the T-shirts in the Shop.
It says "Fear the Beards", but I thought it said, "Feed the Beards" and was a spoof of the song from "Mary Poppins."
Oops.

one of my favorite parts of atmospheric disney rides like this is the amount of things for you to look at and all the little places with decorations during the queue line

🏴☠A tip of the caps from the pirates for they be appreciative that they & their bounty were filmed in 8K. You didn't need rum to be coerced for the millions of years for processing lol. (..or maybe you were🙃) Aiy, cannons, pigs & dirty, hairy feet have never been clearer (What time had a MINIMAL line like that? Heard it was then down most of the wkend) I can dream that the pirates at DLP can be done in a similar fashion....🤞🏼some day, if they ever get done that hotel, huh? (I'm so psyched) Appreciate the time this takes💜
Hahaha you always crack me up Liz! Uploading/processing was faster than usual this time, so I’m grateful for that lol. I hopped on this right around the parade time, so near 3pm. Whenever I’ll make it back to DLP, I’ll make sure to get some things filmed in 8K(most definitely Pirates,Phantom Manor, and Catastrophe Canyon!!) It’s always my pleasure Liz, thank you so much 😊

Pirates of the Caribbean never gets old!! I wanted to tell you guys I am feeling much better from last week’s hazy smoke from the Canadian fir. So glad it’s over!! I hope Central Florida never experiences this even though it gets so hot during the summer. Stay cool and hydrated!😃👍🏻

Fun queue! Fun attraction!! Love the mood getting set as you make your way to the boarding area. Unfortunately for any in a boat with me…this is an attraction I will sing along (I do not recite the narration or script…but once we get the the song, I sing along!! ...but if I find I’m not in good-voice, I will refrain from singing 😉 any and all are welcome and invited to join in if you hear me or anyone else in your boat singing! Everyone knows, “Drink up me hearties, yo ho! Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirates life for me!” if even you don’t know the bits inbetween!!). Brilliant clear video!! Loved this little escape to a classic attraction!!

This has to be my favorite queue and ride at MK.
We got stuck for 15 minutes at 13:29 when my son was 5. He asked what if we had to live there? I told him I’d be sold as a wench. 😂
A true classic.
I got this ride with my group of friends and 2 of them that were a couple sat in the front. Before we got on they asked us “are we gonna get wet?” After they got a little soaked😂 it was a fun ride tho
This is my favorite ride I love the restaurant inside the ride itself I love it I wish I was there!!
I much prefer experiencing WDW watching this awesome channel than going to the park.
While I do wish they'd included a couple more movie elements, such as putting the chest of cursed Aztec gold on that bit of empty beach with the skeleton pirate, or having a Mister Gibbs animatronic be the man in the pig-pen, I still love this ride to bits. I've been living vicariously though videos like this one for a while, visiting theme parks, without actually having the money to do it. Hopefully, someday soon, I'll be able to see this particular ride in-person. (6/13/2023)

This was one of my favorite rides when I went as a kid and it was so awesome to get to take my daughter on it when we went back in December. As much fun as I had when I went as a kid I had so much more fun when I got to take my own kids. Already planning our next trip first week of December 2025 I can't wait

Classic attraction and in 8K! TY! The memory when my son was 6 and going down that first drop in the dark lol. My fav scene is the dog with the keys. I hope you’ll do more 8K. Did you do Haunted Mansion with it? I’ll look

What a fun and well-filmed and produced video!
This is probably my favorite attraction at the Magic Kingdom, and I really appreciate the great job you did in showing so much detail.
I have missed seeing all the theming/details they have in the "waiting area". Thanks to you and your attention to detail, I can see how much work they put into all parts of this ride.
Question: I noticed the projected image of Blackbeard was not shown. I always thought it was a good start to the ride, especially with the addition of it being projected onto "fog".
Another thing that is gone (some years ago) is the skeleton of the mermaid in the scene with the pirate skeletons.
It might have been woked out with the readhead...
I noticed the line was short when you arrived, but was long when you left. Talk about timing!
This is an example of how a classic Disney story/ride can be enjoyed by each generation - no need to EVER change or remove it!
I appreciate your great work and providing us with this view of a wonderful ride.

It’s always my pleasure Ken! Pirates is an all time favorite of mine, and filming the entire experience is always so much fun for me. Unfortunately the fog projections of Blackbeard & Davy Jones were removed a few years back with no reason given, same with the mermaid skeleton.
Yes, the short line was perfect timing! That was right around when the Festival of Fantasy parade was happening, so presumably that’s why the line was temporarily short. Thank you so much as always!
I wanna hit this up looks good. I’ve been to the six flags fiesta Texas pirates of the deep sea many times but this ride in Disney would be a experience

This was the first in a long line of Great Queues. By the time you take a seat on the boat you have been completely immersed in the environment for ten minutes or much longer on a busy day.

I just rode the Disneyland version back in August, and I have admit, I like Disney World version better. The queue felt like the Caribbean at Disney World. At Disneyland it felt like another Haunted Mansion.
what happened to the two mermaids on either side of the boat at the very beginning? A true classic ride and must do every time we go to the Magic Kingdom. So many good memories
Those mermaids were removed a few years ago. Not sure why

Great ride, shame the memory comes to mind with this ride is getting stuck in the final scene with that song playing on repeat. You don’t know hell until you’ve experienced that as a 9 year old.

Over a decade ago, they updated the ride with projections and special effects. All of that is gone now. What a waste of money!
