Because in America we're enjoying the moments with our families, and we express it by chatting. We're a chatty bunch. You just get used to it when you grow up with it. Every theme park is like this.
dude have you ever been to Kings Island in Ohio? The haunted house ride used to be a scooby doo ride and you can still see where they tried to make shaggy look like a regular guy when they lost the right to use his character.
Great to watch this. I went on this ride as a kid over 40 years ago and some things I always remembered like the stretching room, the shadow piano player, the floating candles at the end of the hall, and the ghosts reflected in mirrors in your buggy at the end. Great to see it all again!
That’s where I always want to get stuck but I’m a literal chicken so I’ve always been stuck with the doors or in the attic near the bride and she always gets me

Just the very power of Disney's illusions is so fascinating, all the angles had to be studied, every decor had to be put in the perfect position, all the tracks had to be put in the right angle, the combination of all those things would usually botch up the ride, but not Disney, the made it perfect. I remember just, staring in awe as I passed everything. I could swear most of those 'rooms' you see aren't even rooms, just giant reflections of thin glass sheets, but I won't be surprised if they were actual rooms. I also remember the dedication of the staff: the person who opens up the doors to let you into the mansion was a boy for me, he was so angsty and impatient which was obviously a role he was playing, but it was so well played. Another thing I'd like to mention is the waiting line for this ride: it is not boring at all. It is one of the longest lines in Magic Kingdom, but there's so much interaction that comes with it. After crossing the giant stone bridge, you go into a graveyard where there are little objects you can interact with. I remember there were these little stone bricks you could touch that would make a musical sound, each stone having a different sound. The only real flaw of this line is how long you wait; if you've explored the rest of the Magic Kingdom and are having foot aches, even slight ones, sit down and let them go away because you'll have A LOT of foot aches on this rides line. As mentioned before, you stand on a *stone bridge* for the majority of the line, and stone is not very friendly with feet, especially when you're supposed to stand for almost 2 hours. Even afterward, you slowly start to climb a small but hellish hill which in between the line leaves you in an awkward tiring slope to stand on. It is recommended that you don't bring elders with you on this ride, even if the majority of the ride is on seats, their aches won't go away for the whole day. Overall, the imagination and dedication poured into this ride is what makes it one of the best: this ride alone is a very good reason to go to the Magic Kingdom on your next Disney trip, 9/10.
April's World ME! Idk why I just wanna jump off the cart and go on the stairs, I almost did no joke. I just wanna jump off the cart in general tho tbh. Walk all over the place.
Uncle Luke you would fall through the floor and into the basement on some areas of the ride and might even get caught up in some of the mechanical machinery and ripped apart in all the rides moving parts. You would end up a permanent resident in the Haunted Mansion.
Amazingly detailed ride! I've been on this hundreds of times in my life and it always holds up to the feeling I got the first time. Even though I don't remember as I was most likely under 1 years old lol. While watching your video this was the first time I've ever noticed there was ghost legs appearing from underneath the table as "the spirits interrupted the ride". Very cool!
Same but I hated this ride as a kid because I was terrified of ghosts and the dark so my mom would let me go on it until I was 9 and I still cried lmao
Does anyone else love seeing Disney Dad’s?? It honestly brings me so much joy to see otherwise burly men trailing after their children (and most of the time, the parents are more excited lol)

2:19 hmm the audio in the stretching room doesn't sound right. his voice isn't floating around the room like it should, and the creaking sounds of the room stretching aren't there :/
That's because the stretching room was temporarily in "B show." If there is something wrong with the binaural audio system they will put the stretching room in B show, where the Ghost Host's voice stays in one place with less sound effects.
I don’t know why the ghost host used the fact that we could get trapped in there and die to scare us cuz tbh being a ghost and living in there scaring people for the rest of eternity would be dope
I remember when I was 15 or 16 i went on this ride. Even back then I had a deep sounding laugh, well into baritone/bass. A few seats in front of me, was a pair of teen girls. They were freaking out over different things. Made me laugh a lot. They screamed louder. After getting off the ride, i came out to hearing them scared of the maniacal laughter following them. I laughed even more, and when they saw me, one pissed herself.
I visited WDW last October with my family, as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration. We went to Magic Kingdom for Boo Bash, just a couple days prior to Halloween and I went on THM, to experience the ride at what I consider, the "scariest time of the year". Definitely worth it!!!!!
When i rode when i was younger the scream was louder and more frightening and you could see the body drop. It scared the shit out of me. I still love the ride to this day.
If you look at a layout of the Florida Haunted Mansion (which is this one), you'll notice that the entrance room and 2 stretching rooms form a hidden Mickey.
It’s not really supposed to be that scary, it’s for kids to enjoy, too. It was my favorite when I was little... though I kept my eyes closed for the graveyard.
It’s not the fact that it’s scary (which it isn’t really) it’s the fact that they are able to do al these amazing things to trick you into thinking you are someplace that you are not.
I honestly think that the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Even though I know nothing's actually going to jump out at me I get a subtle feeling of dread everytime I ride. Even the smell is distinct and characteristic for an old, abandoned mansion
I first went in the summer of 1990 and it's nice to see everything again. Very well filmed. The scariest bit was when they turned the lights off in the expanding room at the beginning. AAArgh!
Of all rides... Disney BETTER keep this one... This ride made me obsessed with disney. It was the first ride I wanted to go when i went as a kid. I loved the movie. I loved the ride. You better keept this ride disney...
The Haunted Mansion (transcript) Foyer: (Ghost Host:) When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls; Whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still - that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight! Stretching Gallery: Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your... ghost host. Kindly step all the way in please and make room for everyone. There's no turning back now. Our tour begins here in this gallery where you see paintings of some of our guests as they appeared in their corruptible, mortal state. Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination, hmm? And consider this dismaying observation: This chamber has no windows and no doors, which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course, there's always my way. (Crashing thunder, scream) Portrait Hall: Oh, I didn't mean to frighten you prematurely; the real chills come later. Now, as they say, look alive, and we'll continue our little tour. And let's all stay together, please. There are several prominent ghosts who have retired here from creepy old crypts from all over the world. Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here, but there's room for a thousand. Any volunteers? If you insist on lagging behind, you may not need to volunteer. The carriage that will carry you into the moldering sanctum of the spirit world will accommodate you and one or two loved ones. Kindly watch your step as you board, please. We spirits haunt our best in gloomy darkness, so remember, no flash pictures, please. And now, a carriage approaches to carry you into the boundless realm of the supernatural. Take your loved ones by the hand, please, and kindly watch your step. Oh yes, and no flash pictures, please! We spirits are frightfully sensitive to bright lights. Do not pull down on the safety bar, please; I will lower it for you. And heed this warning: the spirits will materialize only if you remain quietly seated at all times. Corridor of Doors: We find it delightfully unlivable here in this ghostly retreat. Every room has wall-to-wall creeps, and hot and cold running chills. Shhh, listen! All our ghosts have been dying to meet you! This one can hardly contain himself! Unfortunately, they all seem to have trouble getting through. Perhaps Madame Leota can establish contact. She has a remarkable head for materializing the disembodied. Madame Leota: (Horntoads and lizards, fiddle and strum. Please answer the role by beating a drum!) [unused track] (Ghost fiends and furies, old friends and new! Blow in a horn, so we'll know that it's you!) [unused track] Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat; call in the spirits, wherever they're at! Rap on a table; it's time to respond. Send us a message from somewhere beyond... Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween - awaken the spirits with your tambourine! Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond; let there be music, from regions beyond! Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell, give us a hint, by ringing a bell! Grand Hall (Ghost Host:) The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations and are beginning to materialize. They're assembling for a swinging wake, and they'll be expecting me. I'll see you all a little later... Graveyard: (Ghosts) When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake, Spooks come out for a swinging wake! Happy haunts materialize, and begin to vocalize. Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize! Now don't close your eyes and don't try to hide, For a silly spook may sit by your side. Shrouded in a daft disguise, they pretend to terrorize. Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize! As the moon climbs high o'er the dead oak tree, Spooks arrive for the midnight spree. Creepy creeps with eerie eyes start to shriek and harmonize. Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize! When you hear the knell of a requiem bell, weird glows gleam where spirits dwell. Restless bones etherealize, rise as spooks of every size! Hitchhiking Ghosts: (Ghost Host) Ah, there you are, and just in time! There's a little matter I forgot to mention. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts! They have selected you to fill our quota, and they'll haunt you until you return! Now I will raise the safety bar, and a ghost will follow you home! (Ghost chorus) If would like to join our jamboree there's a simple rule that's compulsory. Mortals pay a token fee. Rest in peace, the haunting's free; so hurry back, we would like your company! Little Leota: Hurry back! Hurry back! Be sure to bring your death certificate, if you decide to join us. Make final arrangements now! We've been dying... to have you... Addendum: Walt Disney World Library (appears before the Corridor of Doors scene) (Ghost Host:) Our library is well-stocked with priceless first editions. Only ghost stories, of course. And marble busts of the greatest ghost writers the literary world has ever known. They have all retired here, to the Haunted Mansion." Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here, but there's room for 1000. Any volunteers, hmmm? If you should decide to join us, final arrangements may be made at the end of the tour...

Man getting old sucks. I'm from the UK and was lucky enough to go to Disney World twice as a kid (Although first time was a week after 9/11 which was a very nervous time for all) Now I'm in my 30s and watching this makes me super nostalgic but then I remember A: The Price to go, B: The Pandemic and C: Not having anyone to go with 😭.
I go to Disney World at least once a year. As a children’s book writer/ illustrator it is great for generating ideas. There is a conference for children’s book writers and illustrators that takes place inside of Disney World in June that I attended yearly, but thanks to the covid 19 pandemic the conference has been canceled. Yet I did get to go in January before the virus went global.
Glad that the ghosts that sit with you are seen here, went on it with my adult daughter today, and as soon as she said "There's a ghost next to you, hugging you" lol I buried my head in her shoulder and didn't see a thing lol.. 🤪
@@jackdonohue7893 no. We always go in January cause that's me and my sister's bday month and it's usually closed around that time because of Christmas decorations they have to clean up. Edit: We went in feb last time so I could go then
Bro. I went on this when me and my big sister went to Disneyland, I wasn't opposed to going on, even though this ride isn't really my favorite. And I remember there was this little girl who was with her Mom and Dad and when it got to the hanging body, she was SOBBING and begging her parents to leave, and because of the dead body, she was like, "I'm not leaving dead!" Her parents were trying to comfort her, and when she left she was still crying. I also remember my sister (who's 3 years older than me.) Asked me to hold her hand because she was a little scared and I did. This ride, while I am in awe of everything they've put into it and the history is super interesting, I've always left with a weird feeling. (maybe because I don't like haunted things.) But, I enjoy looking this up, purely for nostalgia and comments.
Also one time when we were riding this ride it got stuck in the floating crystal ball lady room and now I have all of her lines memorized we were in there for so long
You really appreciate this ride more if you have looked at the map of the entire ride. Also, did anyone notice that the windows above the corpse have wood behind them instead of showing the sky like you would expect?
Absolutely terrifying. Seriously. The Disneyland Fun sing along video didn't exaggerate it and I wouldn't wanna be lost on there off the doom buggy. This is one of those things where you wouldn't think was made by Disney coz of how freaky it is it could work as a non Disney scary film
Oooooo! The best place for the ride to temporarily stop! Gives you a chance to look at all of the little details of the ballroom scene, which is so dang pretty. 💜😍
Sadly, this video is better than the actual ride. We were there yesterday and it was far too dark. No ghost playing the piano and you could barely even see the piano. The portraits on the wall were poorly lit. Also because of covid, no stretching room. Definitely nowhere near as good as it used to be. Great video and I appreciate being able to see all of what we couldn't in person!
a lot of people believe the Ghost Host is Vincent Price, but actually, it's a guy named Paul Frees--the guy who did Bullwinkle Moose and Boris Badenov (among many other voices over the years, and about a million other things). however, Vincent Price DID play the Ghost Host briefly at Disney Paris, but he wasn't popular with the guests, so they replaced him. fun fact: the ghost song is sung by Thurl Ravenscroft, who was Tony the Tiger's voice. he also sang "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch", and did lots of other voice work.

Why do people always talk during this ride for any way ? I say that s being rude !
Patti Brooks maybe little kids got scared? I don’t know

In Disneyland Paris , when the doors shut everyone is quite
Because in America we're enjoying the moments with our families, and we express it by chatting. We're a chatty bunch. You just get used to it when you grow up with it. Every theme park is like this.

Great to watch this. I went on this ride as a kid over 40 years ago and some things I always remembered like the stretching room, the shadow piano player, the floating candles at the end of the hall, and the ghosts reflected in mirrors in your buggy at the end. Great to see it all again!
You nailed this. I’ve never seen such a video on the haunted mansion. Your low light actually works great. Thanks!
Disney haunted mansion
The last time I went on the Haunted Mansion the ride got stuck at the ballroom scene. Nothing like watching spirits dancing for ten minutes in a loop
They groovin'
That’s where I always want to get stuck but I’m a literal chicken so I’ve always been stuck with the doors or in the attic near the bride and she always gets me
I got stuck literally just two feet in front of the ballroom at the corner
Yeah, I got stuck in the ballroom for ten minutes and then again where the busts are singing “grim grinning ghosts” for what felt like another ten. Months later and I still have it stuck in my head 😂
Last time we were on it we got stuck with it going backwards to the graveyard scene. You think that would be comfortable but it sure wasn’t lol.
When you’re too poor to go to Disney and also in quarantine so you watch vids of your favorite Disney ride and imagine that you’re there and not stuck inside your house
Edit: I see this comment is getting Seen so if any of y'all go to the mansion please tell the ghosts I love them ❤️

LOL! True!
Anyone else ever wanted to just jump of the cart and go on the stairs
April's World ME! Idk why I just wanna jump off the cart and go on the stairs, I almost did no joke. I just wanna jump off the cart in general tho tbh. Walk all over the place.
Without a doubt
We kindly ask that you remained seated in your doom buggies. Safety first you know, we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt to sue us.
Uncle Luke you would fall through the floor and into the basement on some areas of the ride and might even get caught up in some of the mechanical machinery and ripped apart in all the rides moving parts. You would end up a permanent resident in the Haunted Mansion.

The bit with the dancing ghosts is my favorite part of any Disney ride.
It honestly brings me so much joy to see otherwise burly men trailing after their children (and most of the time, the parents are more excited lol)
i don't think we should be giving gold stars to guys just for being good parents. like,it's your kid too.
@@JT5555 really? We can’t just appreciate dad’s being dads? It’s not about giving gold stars to good parents, i was just providing a little recognition to how nice it is to see parents involved in their child’s upbringing. Don’t get pressed 🙄
I was here in '76. Believe it or not, it hasn't changed that much (format was the same). The lighting and effects are a lot better today.
Love how the piano 🎹 plays by itself. I did a backstage tour of this ride too

the nostalgic feeling whenever the staff says "watch your step please!"

I liked this ride. It was Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride I cried when I went to hell at the end of the ride.
Indiana Jones was the one that spooked me
I almost cried in the “Stretching room” and would’ve cried on the actual ride if my mom wasn’t there
I still would 😔😂😭
Still my favorite ride! At 6 years old, I confess to running off the line screaming cos I was afraid, but after that, it was smooth sailing!
I don’t know why the ghost host used the fact that we could get trapped in there and die to scare us cuz tbh being a ghost and living in there scaring people for the rest of eternity would be dope
Lmao yeah
i'd get such a kick out of it but i'd also likely end up getting the ride shut down cause everyone would be scared to ride it.XD
I’ve only ever gone to disneyland so that’s why i’m watching this. I love this so much 😻
they stopped you in the best part of the ride, honestly the only time i'd want to be stuck
anyone else in quarantine imagining that your here rn? 😂😭
If there's one place in the ride where I wouldn't mind being stopped, it's the grand hall.
If you look at a layout of the Florida Haunted Mansion (which is this one), you'll notice that the entrance room and 2 stretching rooms form a hidden Mickey.
I’m 20 years old and every time I ride this it never ceases to scare me 🥴🥴
Hey I miss that ride, it’s one of my favorites. Pretty incredible the way it’s underground. 💖
The way this ride is hyped up, I thought it would’ve been scarier.
It was a little scarier before the 2007 updates.
I think the ride is more focused on atmosphere (which it does fantastically) rather than intense jumpscares (like at HHN).
Thank you for sharing this. It's one of the best ones I've seen.
It’s too much of a classic for them to get rid of, I don’t ever see that happening any time soon

My parents took me to Disney World in 1989 for my birthday. This was my favorite ride!
Notice the pictures shooting at each other in the mansion 9:40 - I missed that in person! So cool.

Fun fact: the painting in the preshow room, were done by Disney legend, Marc Davis.
If the designers were given permission to go all out.. I wonder how scary it would actually be.

I hope this become's a world for Kingdom Hearts 4.
ive always wanted to ride this ride. i haven’t been to disney yet but i definitely want to ride this when i go next year!
My favorite ride at Disney. "I do. I did."
a lot of people believe the Ghost Host is Vincent Price, but actually, it's a guy named Paul Frees--the guy who did Bullwinkle Moose and Boris Badenov (among many other voices over the years, and about a million other things).
however, Vincent Price DID play the Ghost Host briefly at Disney Paris, but he wasn't popular with the guests, so they replaced him.
fun fact: the ghost song is sung by Thurl Ravenscroft, who was Tony the Tiger's voice. he also sang "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch", and did lots of other voice work.
Loved this ride only went on this ride at Disney World
