    Thank you, this 3rd video answered my question about the number of strands you knitted with ❤

    Your jumper looks fab. Great knitting job🧶 Very helpful to see exactly how much shrinkage of length occurred and hear about the issues with baggy ribbing and how to resolve that; also seeing the washing machine settings you use etc. Great vid w. just the right amount of relevant and interesting detail. Nice one Anushka, job done👍🏽👩🏻‍🦰

    Thank you for these very helpful videos about knitting with Holst Garn supersoft, Just started knitting the same Magnolia jumper with this yarn so your comments about throwing extra rounds here and there or lengthening the sleeves and body are invaluable! Saved me the disappointing of seeing it shrunk after wash and a bad fitting after hundreds of knitting hours 👏🏻🥰 Superb, thank you soooo much!

    Hello. I am a huge Holst Supersoft fan and have purchased many, many cones of that yarn. I always hold it double and usually hold it triple with one strand of Holst Titicaca, which makes a fabulous fabric.

    You are one of the few knitters who regularly knits from the outside of the ball like I make a practice to do. I have found the same thing. I don't want to have a yarn mess/tangle and find that happens every single time I use the center pull.

    Great episode Anushka! I really want to learn to knit socks and thanks for explaining how your sock patterns are intended as building blocks for learning sock knitting...I have them both and I’m excited to learn!

      Thanks Lynn! My advice is to just cast on & have a go. You'll learn so much from just the process of working through the pattern ☺️

    Thank you for these three videos about Holst Supersoft which I found very informative. I've used it once before when I knitted Ujo from Laine. I didn't wash my swatch. The tunic definitely got a bit shorter after washing so I'll bare this in mind when I use it again.

    Thanks for this. I wish I could get Holst SuperSoft easily where I live in Canada. I will watch for it when travelling to Europe.

      I just ordered it online, I don't think that they are widely stocked in shops

    I always look forward to your videos! My aunt would knit an elastic thread while knitting ribbing when using linen, alpaca, silk and other fiber types that would tend to stretch out. It's adding a synthetic factor in that may not be there, but it did help with the stretching. I would love to better understand various types of sweater construction such as raglan. Also, how to figure out the rate of decreases to customize sleeves as I'm knitting my first sweater. :-)

    Great video! Thanks for all the information.
    Regarding the stretching out of the ribbing: I often knit a 1x1 twisted rib. I know it takes time (and a little efford), but it looks great and even with holst supersoft my ribbing stays tightly in place.

    Thanks for the video!! I have been looking forward to this one! I haven’t machine washed my holst sweaters yet! But now I need to knit another one to try! Any hand feel difference from machine washing vs the hand washing one you did already?

    Thank you for the information. This video/tutorial/process was extremely helpful. I have a cone of Holst Super Soft waiting for more swatching before I start a So Faded by Andrea Mowry. I'm doing it all in one color. The information on the swatching and washing is great. Seeing the sweater on you pre and post wash really very helpful.

    One can buy linen with the spinning oil still on it. I had thought about doing that. I am guessing the linen would work out in a similar way.

    Hello Anoushka, would it be a solution for the ribbing if we knit na elastic thread together with Holst Supersoft?

    • @TheCrimsonStitchery
      @TheCrimsonStitchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never tried this, but I encourage you to try it as an experiment :)

    • @thepiaknits
      @thepiaknits 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCrimsonStitchery thank you…. I will try it :-) Today I’m making an experiment with Holst Coast. I just washed the yarn by hand , before knitting with it. It has to dry now and then I can swatch again. But I wonder… could I wash the yarn (on long skeins and safely in a washing net) in a delicate program in the washing machine? Because washing the yarn by hand before knitting is quite a lot of work. But I think it is worth the effort: we would have more confidence as for the finished size of the garment and more security about the colours not bleeding into each other when knitting Fair Isle. But it would be much easier to wash in the machine, what do you think?

    Thank you for 3 great videos with a lot of very good information! Super! Very useful. Heard about your 3 videos through the norweigan podcaster Inga who recomended you in her podcast KNITTING TRADITIONS. I'm considering buying Holst Supersoft, so it's perfect to know this beforehand. So once again THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

    Thank you for the helpful information about the Holst Yarn. I would like to know the weight of the jumper. Are there 500g on the cone? And it looks, as if there is a lot of leftover.
