Last week I went on a beautiful little crochet/knit retreat with some of the people who I've met through the internet and have the privilege of calling my good friends. I'll have a little vlog of the rest of our trip out soon but I cast on this beautiful blue sweater and wanted to share what I've been working on with you!

I would love to see more vlog style videos from you! I love seeing how you work up projects and you have a really good eye for design in your pieces which is always really inspiring. You and Kelsey are total comfort creators so its nice to just work on a project and watch you work on a project too - like being in a virtual knitting circle! Excited to see the progress on this piece in the coming vlogs.
Also, Aspen suits you really well and hearing people say it in the vlogs from this trip has felt so natural!

I think your hair would look good with like a natural looking wave or loose curl try scrunching your hair with a towel when you have washed it then letting it air dry also I wanna crochet an oversized cardigan with huge buttons with this yarn. Hi yes it was, I just announced the change recently on my IG stories :) my community post from June has some more info about why I changed it :)
At the end of the video there's a bit calling the other channel's name "deadnameInTheMoment", Aspen just (I think? I've seen nothing about it on TH-cam before) told us their new name (They came out as non-binary a few month ago in the community tab)

i wanted to thank you because after multiple sessions od trying to knit and ending uf frustrated and crying after casting on, then coming back to crochet solely, your tutorial on the top down raglan step by step was my. first ever knitting project and I finished it!!!
now im on my third project, short rows, saddle shoudler construction and a thousand other things that were intimidating arent that complicated (not more than. counting ;) ), 2 fo's, one wip - currently my fav things knitwear tee no. 1, have the yarn for petite's knit storm sweater and my mom's birthday mohair cardigan. soory ffor the tangents, but I just want you to know Aspen, im in love with this world. I've followed you for years and watched every video that I ever saw of yours. You and the community inspired me to start my youtube video about making and art, textiles, fibers, diy and im in the process of recording a project vlog as well as planning a knitting podcast episode no. 1.
I'm just so grateful for you to, not to sound dramatic, but switch up my life completely. now fiber arts are such a sense off empowerment, comfort, satisfaction, joy and helped so much with my mental health for the past few years of being in and out off hospitals. It gave me power and a sense of purpose to fight for something, and seeingg your journy, talking self-awareness, being so pure and real (im also audhd so ffor that you are an 'safety' person foe me as well), I just see your joy while looking at a duck, pigeon, a project or a beautiful view and immediatly Im like ' yeah, of course all those things are f'ing insane and worth it to keep going". Sounds cliche, and it is, but its painffuflly true.
Aspen, a huge package of gratitude from me. I hope I can one day repay you somehow.
