Wow, new Tesla owner here and I had no idea that the app wouldn't automatically update. Thanks for the tip!

Yes it’s weird how they don’t notify you through the app.

Here in the States, the last update gave us the ability to vent or close windows from the app. That feature was taken away some time ago for many Teslas but is now back. Now that our temperatures are slowly climbing, this is a very welcomed function

Yes. I read that. It’s good news. We didn’t loose that function here thankfully. Your road safety authority seems to give Tesla a pretty hard time.

Thanks wanted an easy way to send my planned route to the m3 in advance… worth it just for that

You can send a destination direct from Google or Apple Maps. Probably just as useful as the car recalculates anyway.

I have used ABRP premium for a couple of years with my MG zs ev with Bluetooth OBD2 link. IMHO manufacturers should licence the abrp software to include in vehicles. It's brilliant. I can't understand why Tesla's route planner is not as good as abrp. In my experience abrp generally nails the estimated battery percentage within 1 or 2 percent on trips and the charge times are also accurate.

It’s an awesome app. I think Polestar or Volvo have it integrated.

I think they might be trying to take into account wait times. Port charger gets busy over holiday periods.

I’ve driving up to Sunshine Coast next month so I’ll compare the app with the car and ABRP. I did a recent trip and the app was way out. Tesla will sort it eventually.

Good day, could you please do a comparison of estimated consumption in app vs in car vs actual for the same trip?

Hi George. I will be testing it out and let you know. I normally arrive with a higher SOC than predicted and charge much faster than predicted by the cars trip planner.

I compared the app trip planner to the car and found them to be very different with the arrival SOC. It looks like the in car trip planner is more accurate. I would have thought that they were using the same variables. Both used the same initial SOC. I posted a pic of this in my channel feed. I feel like the app is not super useful right now other than being able to pre plan then send to the car to recalculate. A Better Route Planner is still the best way to pre-plan a trip and is even more accurate than the in car navigation.

I will do a full test of this on my next road trip

I’m confused how you were charging at 11kW in the beginning of the video when you were only pulling 16 amps. 16 amps x 240V is only about 4kW.

3-phase not single. More voltage equals more kW for the same amps.

You’ve got an eye for detail!
