How to replace a motor on your drone? In general it's an easy thing to do, much more so than you may believe, but there are some gotchas, that you could fall for if it's your first time. In this video we will take a look at what is a broken drone motor, how to solder a new motor, how to test it and set up the new drone motor in Betaflight as well as how to configure the ESC in BL Heli Configurator.

My Phantom came with a defective motor and I made the decision to replace them all with 1103 Iflight motors. A couple tips in your video really helped when I encountered issues, thanks!

Thanks so much! Very happy to hear it helped you out! I love the Phantom, it was one of my first "real" toothpick class drones. I fly it plenty, including yesterday, checkout the videos on the Georgi FPV channel. This video does probably the best job of summing up my thoughts:

But in short, I believe that anyone can get the best toothpick class drone for their use case. There are a number of factors to consider: do you need HD video, what's your style of flying, do you fly close to yourself or further out, are you restricted by weight or VTX power output, what batteries you already have etc. And it's a great time to pick a micro / toothpick class drone, plenty of awesome options around :)

great vid thanks ...i have problem problem with my phantom.... have spoken to geprc..geprc engineer... i have the same type of vid interference as you on 13:38...that blurry noise.. mine just happens to such a extend that i struggle to control quad... especially when flying into sun... Hmm, interesting. I don't recall very clearly if the issue was more pronounced in the goggles while flying or not. I think it was as you can see it in the VTX. In my case, not a deal breaker, but not nice. I'd try out swapping for another camera and testing out. Interesting to hear you have already changed your VTX, so that's probably not the culprit then.

Strangely i replaced entire stack..part for part to troubleshoot....still the same..quad is great but mine challenges me lots .

@@michaellabuschagne8321 wow, that's a pity. Maybe some electrical interference then? You could also test component by component with another stack that is known to work, but yea maybe this gets too involved. Plenty of opportunity to thinker and learn though :D
