    In this clip, Omar Gooding opened up about John Singleton reaching out to him and his mother, who was his manager, about wanting to make him a "movie star" with "Baby Boy." Omar then detailed auditioning for the role of "Sweetpea" and feeling good about it, but he added that he didn't hear anything for a month. From there, Omar shared stories about how his past run-ins in the streets helped him prepare for the role, but it was John Singleton telling him to "step it up" during rehearsals that really made him push harder.     I can’t speak for others but for me, I often get caught up in the character the actors play and subconsciously expect them to be exactly that in every day life. I said all that to say his personality, his conversation, his vocabulary couldn’t be farther from the Baby Boy character. I’m digging this interview, very well spoken, intelligent Black Man
