HOW TO rig minnows on the bottom for Walleye, Saugeye and Perch (simple technique)

  • I would like to show everyone a basic bottom fishing technique that can produce at Lake Logan. It basically is a carolina rig but I modify it with a split shot to stop the egg sinker to get extra distance from the shore. Enjoy the action and maybe even try it for yourself! Lake Logan Ohio can be a nice fishing spot if you can locate the fish! This strategy also helps keep your minnow off the bottom of the lake. This will make your bait standout and be seen by walleye, perch and saugeye

    I always used marshmallows to float stuff off the bottom back in the day. Floating jig heads are definitely better. 😂

    If this is Lake Logan in Logan , Ohio , in the Spring don your chest waders. Go to the beach and wade out so you can cast where the Saugies are. Jig and minnow or half crawler.

      Unfortunately they don't allow us to fish the beach anymore...

    I live 5 mins from Lake logan. Love fishing for crappie! I'd love to hook up and do some fishing with you some time.

      I highly recommend fishing on structure piles during the summer. early spring crappie are right off the bank during the spawn.

      It’s a really good crappie lake and sometimes get into some saugeye

      Hey I have caught some nice fish from lake Logan! It has nice crappie fishing in the spring. Saugeye fishing is tough but the ones you get are big! Channel catfish are excellent as well during the late spring when they are spawning on the dam side of the lake

      these were the little floating jigs you could get at Walmart. I used a little split shot and a 1/4 egg sinker

    Hey I'm still working on finding places to fish. I was wondering if you would want to get together and fish lake Logan. I've never been there.

    • @thecreekcrawler
      @thecreekcrawler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Logan has a few good spots from shore. Depends on what your after. Crappie will be up shallow soon. Perch are shallow now spawning. The handicap access point on the middle of the lake is great as well. It’s near 9-12 feet of water
