  • Today we venture back to one of our favorite honey holes in search of saugeye, a hybrid between sauger and walleye. These feisty fish are stocked in many lakes throughout Ohio and make their way into the rivers. I talk about gear, tackle, tips and tricks, and methods to catch these toothy fish in today's video. These fish provide an exciting catch all winter long. And Until Next Time, Go Get Some Bend in Your Rod!

      Thanks, Luigi. I went out yesterday and it was even colder. I was battling ice on my guides and frozen fingers and toes. Managed to catch a couple. Video coming soon! I appreciate the support. Tight lines!

      I fish there a lot in cold water. I feel like this side of the river gets less traffic. Went last night and caught 3 little eyes and a smallie. Guys on the other side didn't catch anything 😜

    My pb Ohio smallmouth was in Downtown Dayton, Deeds point, 19". GMR is an excellent fishery. My husband and I have been fishing it for more than 40 years. Love that river, great video

    Like your video I always use a little bit of super glue it extends the life of your plastic just a little bit especially with the ky-tech

      I've had mixed success with super glue. Definitely helps but I can't keep it from drying out or leaking in my bag lol

      @@FiveRiverRodBenderFishing Brother I’d love to get some bend in my rods but I am kryptonite to big catfish for some reason.

      It's hard to get the real big ones over 10 lbs. I do pretty good on smaller channel cat with Triple S dip bait.

  • @stevebrockway4738
    @stevebrockway4738 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As usual, unless steelhead are involved, the Keitech EZ Shiner (#notsponsored) gets it done. That spot is fire. The channel cat was engorged. I loved every minute especially the instructions.

      That's the first time I really broke it down. That is literally how I fish 95% of the time, unless I'm trophy hunting or bait fishing. I made the switch a few years ago and never looked back. Big fish eat little fish. Even steelhead eat them; I'm just telling myself they weren't there the last couple times we tried 😋

      @stevebrockway4738 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FiveRiverRodBenderFishing Me too. I try other stuff and always go back to the Keitechs. At least you have video proof of catching one. I am still at zero.

      @FiveRiverRodBenderFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We'll try again soon. I wanna go back to the V if it ever rains there. Literally every other river in Steelhead Alley has received rain.
