Fishing with Minnows at Lake Logan Ohio (slip bobber and bottom)

- I went out to Lake Logan in hopes of getting into some crappie today. I didn't catch many crappie but did manage some bass and a new PB species on a bottom rigged minnow! The crappie spawn should be upon us in the first week of April. Stay tuned for some Hocking River action as well in the coming spring and summer! You should try using a slip bobber with a bobby garland for crappie. It allows you to vertically jig without a boat/kayak. I use this technique at Ruck Creek Lake from the bank in the spring and it's killer. Also, that's a pretty big yellown perch for lake Logan. I catch them occasionally and they're usually tiny. Awesome fish. Tight lines!
I actually have tried that a few times it is awesome! Keeps that bait in the strike zone.
I am pretty sure that perch could have almost went fish ohio which is like 11" for inland I believe..I could be wrong

Man I had no idea there were yellow perch in that lake. I’m going to check out that tackle shop next time I’m up that way fishing. Cool video!
I catch them there from time to time fishing minnows on the bottom. That by far was the largest I have seen. Lake Logan is a great fishery for sure if you get there during the crappie spawn!

They are known for that..I find better landing percentages when I just use good pressure rather than hook setting like a bass! good luck I still haven't even got one yet this year! season is still young though
2.5 to 3 ft , really nice perch as well.

That perch has a flavor those bass wish they had. Bass are a mushy meat, not very good. May as well eat a catfish, yukkkkkk. Nice video my freind.

Yea its a pretty solid lake for flathead. Downs bait and guns located right near the lake has tons of pictures with people catching 30-50lb flatheads from there

Don’t keep largemouth people ....
Largemouth are actually pretty good table fare. A healthy harvest rate will result in a healthy largemouth population
