Always hold the throttle body with the electronics portion on the top side so that when you spray in it the fluid does not seep between the rotating bar into the electronic unit. Great video.
My husband and I pan to do this next weekend! I love helping him work on his Ram! Of course I'm a country girl. Anyway, his truck is the same year as yours so this video was absolutely perfect!! Thank you! I'll have to come back and let you know how it goes.
Ha! Stumbled across your video today. I wanted to clean my throttle body and I kinda laughed when you mentioned checking the perimeter of the hood for tools. I was replacing the halogens last night to leds because I did the fog lights and they didn’t match. Now they are nice and white and bright. Didn’t do the high beams but that’s next on the list.
I have to do some work on my 2015 ram 1500 with the hemi. I’m at 131,000 miles. I have all the stuff to order from Rock Auto. Is that considered the upper or lower throttle body gasket?
I have a 2012 ram 1500 5.7 Hemi and I would like to know the brand you are used or if you could send me a link to the headlights you have low and high beams thanks I would appreciate it
PUTCO 289006 Adjustable Silver Lux LED Kit- 9006 Pair w/4000 Lumens Output for the lowbeams but I put in the high beams as well. If memory serves me right, they were the 9005 but those were also the PUTCO Silver Lux. Very good bulbs. Four years later now and they are still holding up perfect.
Never spray the throttle body directly. Spray on a rag and wipe on. Ask me how I know... *sigh* 2nd throttle body is on its 3rd or 4th cleaning using this method

He’s a lucky man to have you.

Love the selection of chosen items to remove TB.
Thanks for this and the light suggestion! I need both of these.

Is a throttle body relearn procedure with a scan tool required after a removal and cleaning?
Not for this year/model. No issues for me and I've done it again not too long ago - still with no issues after cleaning it.
Bad ass truck! Thanks for the instruction video! 🐏 💪🏾

2nd throttle body is on its 3rd or 4th cleaning using this method
Good advice and probably smart to do it that way but I have been trying to keep it out of the electronics area and so far no issues.
Throttle body cleaning is highly overrated in north America
