+kutlessrocker23 Yeah, he created actual, original content. What did Capcom do? Authorize a couple of fangames that were going to be released anyway? Big whoop.
@Keith Pillsbury na. He probably died. The one in X8 (and the one in this video) is Vile Mark V. He likely died but will come back as a different model.
@jaieesantiago9765 Yes, yes, we're aware that Vile went full on, shameless Boba Fett in X8. I liked it better when his armor made him look like a nine years, too early Jango Fett. And I do mean nine years too early, X1 came out in 1993, Attack of the Clones came out in 2002.
Thank you for calling him X instead of Mega Man X. I had a whole argument with this one asshole who kept calling him Mega Man X and getting on my nerves.
Fjord Kali To be fair that's how most people know him by. People who aren't that familiar with the Mega Man series probably won't know who X is unless you say "Mega Man X" but yeah I understand it can get annoying when people say "Mega Man X" and I'm like do you mean the first game? The X series? The character X? I just call him X but if I'm talking to people not familiar with the Mega Man series I'll call him Mega Man X.
His full name is Mega Man X (Or MegaMan X, sometimes the space isn't there). You see it in some cutscenes, the character select, and dialogue boxes. X is just a shorter way to say it, and thus is the name more people use and are more familiar with.
Dr. Light: "Enter this capsule, X, and receive a software upgrade to enhance your fighting skills. With this upgrade, you will become impervious to physical harm, and be able to release a Buster blast with each punch, furthering your offensive abilities. These abilities will help you in the battle that is to come, one which, I hope, your chances of surviving are somewhere above ZERO. For peace and the future."
I don't know why the X8 character models weren't well received. They look kickass. I especially liked the fact that they trimmed the characters boots / feet. It looks more streamlined.

Maybe one day, Shane will be able to breathe his own personality into his works. Afterall, it just feels weird for Megaman to not be shooting his busters more often, but fluid hand to hand combat assisted by long range ability is something Monty love. But I must say I love the camera anles. The tilted camera makes anything that just seems otherwise normal, suddenly feeling action packed.
Monty Oum may be dead, but he left behind a legacy, and that is Shane Newville. Don't lose hope. (Yeah, I know he won't do RWBY. But still, Monty is THAT lucky.)
You seem to have lots of martial knowledge because you animated the punches and kicks so smoothly and in a realistic way... @@ShaneNewville Hey Shane, I appreciate you and hope you and yours are doing well. It's a small world, but we actually corresponded a bit about animation when you were on deviantart, shortly after you released this movie. I was an aspiring gamey person back then in school for art and animation. Megaman X has always been my absolute hero so this was always amazing to me. It might not mean much and I hope it doesn't cause anything untoward, but I also believed and supported you with your open letter about Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. I appreciate the gravitas of what you went through. I haven't kept up or heard anything about them or you since but I hope you are finding fulfilling things. No need to reply. I wish good things for you.
Damn, I miss when Shane was with RoosterTeeth back then. He helped Monty a lot with the fight choreography in RWBY. It doesn't really feel the same without him.
This might have been the last action video he did for fans, wow just wow a guy with such amazing talent had to leave so soon. Only the good die young.... Thanks for making this for the X fans Monty!!
ya Axl was the worst... why ohh why did they give him guns.. no one wants to see that in the megaman univers.. we want arm cannons! reminds be of the box art megaman..
Technically X has always been retaining some of the armor’s upgrades even if he doesn’t keep the armor itself. By X8 he has both ground and air dashes despite neither of those being default abilities in his first game.
Off the chain I loved this video. ...you got it you got it this is the next level, this is the next stage of mega man...LONG LIVE MEGA MAN X........HAPPY 25 ANNIVERSARY !!!!
That was cool, good job! Hated the gatling guns that X summoned, but besides that everything was amazing. The fighting scenes were well done and the animation was smooth.
I for one would like to see where it goes with a series. Can't seem to get enough of this real action that is quite a perspective on Megaman X. It's a hit with me
X: "i feel like i'm forgetting something"
Zero: "if you forgot it then it wasn't important"
Axl: ...
lol
I feel like Axl wanted to come, but X insisted this was a “personal matter”, so he’s just chilling back at the base.
@rhysthereddragon1326 Or you know, he basically said, "Axl will never be a Hunter!"
Still badass after almost a decade. This is how I imagine how X fights

Yeah, Thats where I got my info. It is sad
:(
take what he said with a grain of salt, he isnt in the right mindset and it shows, alot of what he says comes off as petty and slanderous.
Briar Foley maybe, maybe not
Really put into perspective that X is a pro who has been doing this for heck of a long time.
Thats the best ive ever seen capcom can learn from shane
Good work shane make more from that
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why X is the BADDEST MOTHER F***ING MAVERICK HUNTER OF ALL OF F***ING TIME!!!
I'm also going to add that, if by chance, Capcom winds up making a Megaman X9, they make a level based off of this video.
+damian portillo and hopefully use the new design they did for April fools day
+Wolverine2101 Yes, yes, SO MUCH YES!
+damian portillo I wouldn't mind if they did that at all it was time for a upgrade but I like the old school design
+damian portillo or at least an old X skin for the game
this is way too underrated, absolutely great animation
Every time I watch this I feel older and older
It's animations like this we NEED! Like seriously! I'd like to see a real, full length MegaMan X movie that looks like this, with voice-over ofcourse(good ones).
1:06 Oh no! Why did I run up close with a long range weapon?
lol. i know. what a fool he was
@@ShaneNewville Hey Shane, I appreciate you and hope you and yours are doing well.
Oh wow, I could totally see you making a complete movie or series of this, I love it!
This might have been the last action video he did for fans, wow just wow a guy with such amazing talent had to leave so soon. Only the good die young.... Thanks for making this for the X fans Monty!!
Um...isn't it made by Shane Newville? Correct me if I'm wrong.
No your right, I was overly passionate about Monty's death but I believe he helped in directing it.
Also didn't monty... ya know... do RWBY?
PsychoSoldier he talking about fan projects, rwby is an original show by monty
Axl probably poses as much of a threat to X and Zero as Roll did to any Robot Master.
ya Axl was the worst... why ohh why did they give him guns.. no one wants to see that in the megaman univers.. we want arm cannons! reminds be of the box art megaman..
Axl was fail, but at least in X8 they made up for how horrible X7 was.
This video may be 8 years old but The animation is still so freaking awsome, who's still watching 2020?
2024!
I just LOVE the metal sounds for every hit.
...well, it's nice that he didn't immediately get damaged when touching the enemy. Must be nice.
Damn. This is badass.
that Wily-bit was ingenious! 😂
OMG THIS IS SO F*CKING AWESOME!! I grew up with megaman and this video made me remember those good old times
Dr. Wily, Sigma, Vile, and all the robot masters and Mavericks disliked this video. If you dislike, YOU HAVE GONE MAVERICK!
4:47 I remember something like this in Command Mission
Ultimate armor's action trigger is something similar to this, yeah.
I Should Have Expected To Find You HERE, Sucker!
Mavericks: “Why are we only using weapons from japan's edo period!?”
Ain't no way this is 10 years... That X vs Zero fight was waaay too good.
0:53 he has the Third Armour helmet map installed
Technically X has always been retaining some of the armor’s upgrades even if he doesn’t keep the armor itself. By X8 he has both ground and air dashes despite neither of those being default abilities in his first game.
hate to admit it but, this video has more action, or better, than the fights in rwby 3...
To be fair Xand Zero are super powered ever evolving godlike androids while everyone in RWBY are just normal humans with weapons.
He meant the fight animation/choreography not the people Kris
X and Zero are far above anybody in RWBY, so of course the action would be better.
That's exactly what I ment in my comment, you can do so much more with super powered non humans then regular humans.
It's better than all of rwby
Hey animators that work on RWBY. This is how you animate a fight!!
sligen Thing is this used to be an animator for RWBY
Off the chain I loved this video. ...you got it you got it this is the next level, this is the next stage of mega man...LONG LIVE MEGA MAN X........HAPPY 25 ANNIVERSARY !!!!
That was cool, good job! Hated the gatling guns that X summoned, but besides that everything was amazing. The fighting scenes were well done and the animation was smooth.
"Monty Oum, additional animation" No wonder the fight scenes were so good.
Cool. This animation has accomplished more with Megaman than Capcom has in a few years.
I for one would like to see where it goes with a series. Can't seem to get enough of this real action that is quite a perspective on Megaman X.
It's a hit with me
the music makes it 100% better
buster-fu is apparently the martial arts taught to maverick hunters..
I love it. I love Mega Man X and this was great.
aged fine like wine
