    I like the exterior updates overall. Really not a fan of the wide screen for the interior. I much prefer a gauge cluster and physical buttons for HVAC. There's nothing preventing glare on the screen behind the steering wheel and using a touch screen for HVAC settings is inherently less convenient and safe.

      Another reason is that that’s not BMW’s strategy. The 1, 3 and 5 series, x1, x3 and x5 will keep the horizontal grille for now. The X7 and i7 get split headlights, while the 4 gets agressive big grilles and perhaps the X4 will as well.

    Removing the gearlever just to be replaced with a rocker-switch was one of the worst decisions ever. I hate having to take my eyes off the road. Now new 3-series owners will have to do it in their ultimate driving machine too... It's just... Just not good. Especially when trying to do a 3-point turn for example. @@Daniel-dj7fh and they made interior "cheap". I don't know how but they definitely lost sport ride feel inside. The only thing in class where 3 series was better than competition Merc/Audi.
      I know that inflation is part of the life but this is huge jump with downgrade experience. My goal for new car was maybe this LCI for 2 years but l'm sure that would something else now.

      @@SnjurCro I think the 3 big German fims are the same thing, they offer the same with different looks. One company oofers one thing better but two things worse, vice versa.
      Even VW is asking way too much for their stuff atm. The VW Polo we got 3 years ago costs 10k more, you get nothing more. Except maybe 1-2 more driving assistants nobody needs or uses.

    I don't understand the obsession of replacing all tactile controls with touch screen. How are they better? Good luck hitting the temperature adjustment while you are navigating windy back road at night. Physical buttons I can hit with my eyes closed. Clearly driven by cost not usability.

    • @ghettomist1575
      @ghettomist1575 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bro I don’t know why more people don’t agree with this. I love nice tactile buttons, I don’t get why people fall for the touch screen garbage. First of all as you said it ruins some of the usability, second it takes so much focus off the task at hand … DRIVING, and finally it is so poorly integrated it just looks ugly and lazy design wise. Idk I hate these new car trends.

    I'm a 2014 428i owner. I have been waiting for the new 4 series to upgrade to 440i. When the controversial (read: hideous) design came up, I just couldn't order the car. The money was ready and I knew the car was great other than the outer design. But the design ruined everything. So I decided to go for 3 series. M340 looked cool (though, not a coupe cool). I realized the LCI was coming up and waited for it to put an order. Now with the new interior, I will just try to go with some other brand. I still love BMW engines and think they are the best among the other German brands (except Porsche). But the design department keeps messing up these beautiful machines.

      People need to stop thinking or saying "design deparment". These are top high execs making the decisions. They get different options from design and they go for their choice which is usually bad but they force it as the top high execs usually have no style or sense of aesthetics/balance.
