to solve the issue of the coil spring falling out on droop, just make up a retainer to hold the spring in place! I have seen guys use a cable clamp (the u bolt part) and put that around the bottom and top coil and simply bolt to the mount plate or you can copy some factory types like a bent piece of flat bar then a hole in it and bolt that to the mount so the bent part retains the coil....I am still gathering parts for my build but am looking forward to 35" tires and toyota axles!

your welder settings sound off, maybe need a touch more voltage?
Just doesn't seem to have the sizzle like bacon frying if you know what I mean? ( the welds look well burnt in so maybe it's just the sound in the video?) I like your steering set up, I might follow your lead and do the same.
I am really enjoying your videos and appreciate all the effort you take to share with all of us!

Turned wire speed down so the weld lays nice and flat with good penetration. I've actually changed the steering setup, not useing heim joints.

Good Job, Now go find you an 8" weld on pipe cap, cut it in half and use it for a diff guard. I did this for my 'Hi LUX' (Pickup) axles on my '92 Samurai (SIerra) and have 'beat the snot out of them for the last 20 years. Still say drop the 35s and go to 36s 😁

I got a generic weld on gaurd for it, 36s why not 37s?

Should have gone patrol steering box. Hugely overkill but will never ever need a rebuild lol

No room for a patrol box, vitara box should be plenty strong for this setup

Your heims installed in single shear top and bottom is really sketchy, that bolt snaps and.....

14mm high tensile bolt, I'd be impressed if I broke that.
