I am sorry I missed this and the recent live Q&A. I am an adult dancer with some previous dance experience. For the past 8 months I have done 3+ classes a week. How do you get over the frustrations of uneven learning? For example, side extensions and devant are fine, but arabesque forces my torso downward. Passé relevé great, pirouettes a mess. I want to turn my dance into something, but at this rate, I feel like I only have one good class a month. That can be discouraging. Any advice?

What do you recommend for learning ballet choreography for *visual* 👀🧐learners?
    Thank you in advance!

if it is classical repertoire, you can probably find it on youtube! i'd suggest using those performance videos as your reference. that way you can play it over and over again if you need to...
if you are in a company / rehearsal- you can request to film the last few minutes of rehearsal, or film the final run through on your phone. this was very common the company i danced for. you probably just have to promise that you won't post it or share it with anyone else outside the company...
if you are in class learning combinations, you can ask the teacher to repeat the combination, as well as putting yourself in a 2nd, 3rd, or final group- so you have time to watch other groups do the combination before it is your turn to go.

I’m actually getting the surgery you mentioned at the end of the video. But rather than at my knee, I’m having mine done at my proximal femur. Rather than my femur being twisted at the knee, the femoral head of my hips are too far forward in the socket.
